Plan to show broadcast like current affairs building up to Nazi Propaganda by Ep III. Will be doing a zoom in to the monitor at this shot as the feed fades from static blue to actually in the Senate Room, via the camera feeds floating around her head. This is after considering some critique of the movie from Mr.Plinkett.
I plan to show the city become more bare of people by Ep III and more war torn.

Just a little suggestion: my “Keepers of the peace” AOTC edit had its problems, but I always liked one small change. Anakin and Padmé’s relationship need to be built. I’d like to have them kiss for the first time on Geonosis, before the arena sequence.
So here you could cut just frames before they actually kiss and then interrupt it. Then have Padmé say: “No. I shouldn’t have done that”. It makes their actual kiss way more “satisfying” later.Plus I feel like more intimacy and this arrangement both gives Anakin more that he’s fighting for and add’s other layers. Consider when Padame is blasted off this ship onto the sand dunes. Now when Obi wan screams at him that he’ll be expelled from the Jedi order comes with a different hit, as Anakin has already gone too far, and his face reflects it in that moment.
Plus im considering the Jedi being aware of him and Padame by ROTS.
Keep in mind it’s only 6 months between 2 and 3. So Anakin knocked her up around the time he wed her or before as she gives birth by ROTS.
Edit- Plus this entire movie series hinges on Anakin and Padame’s love for each other, and the fact that Anakin would go so far for her. So adding more intimacy in ATOC (The only place you can as she’s preggers by ROTS) seem’s the best option.

I’m having a lot of trouble with the chroma key on the Star Destroyer (because the free program I use doesn’t have chroma key.) Does anyone have any suggestions for this?
I could render out my background plate (with moving waterfalls and clouds) and have someone else comp in the destroyer?
I could be wrong about this but doesn’t the Star Destroyer need to be a model from the old Empire? Why would it be a First Order type of Star Destroyer?
Those Destroyers are all First Order Star Destroyers.
The Sith Fleet (Imperial style) is on Exegol. Those ones that we see in the celebration montage are the result of “People are rising all over the galaxy”.

IMHO, the problem with this would be that Kylo first tell her she’s a nobody, then she’s a Palpatine, and then we find out she’s really nobody.
I also agree. Personally I loved The Last Jedi, but it’s a fact that this movie resolved the internal struggle in Rey when one movie still had to be made. She accepted her lack of famous ancestors and she refused to join Kylo.
Palpatine has been a tool to add another (weak) struggle. The only other would be to have Rey kill her parents (that’s why she fears herself), but some of us already tried that and the result was never really great.

#5 has had some discussion, and the idea is that the dagger is the one whispering to her to nudge her in the right direction. It may not be clear enough to really be viable. I guess we are still indeterminate if it is truly viable to replace the Goonies moment.
I had watched your workprint 1, and it was nice already, even though there were less changes.
Again, I had some things to do in these days so I just read that you released your V2. To me there were no issues like rough cuts or else. The first act has a much better pacing.
I also noticed, but that’s personal, that jonh’s ghosts scene gave me a quite different feel while watching the whole movie. I mean, at first it was only a single scene, but now it really feels like something that should have been there from the stars. It also connects the three trilogies better than anything else (Ben from OT, Anakin from PT, Luke from ST).
I also liked the subtle DOF motive during the Death star duel.Oh, and about the Dagger. I’ll have to rewatch the scene. At first I didn’t get your intention, but that’s probably because I was trying to notice every change (I’ve watched TROS countless times for that awful edit of mine, like I’m sure many of you have). To enhance your point you could maybe add some whispers as Rey is holding the Dagger in front of the Death Star? It could work with 3PO’s like “Only this blade tells”. Tells. Like, literally.
EDIT I think some parts of the Mustafar sequence could be used. The wide shot with TIEs looks ok to me. The volcanic eruptions look too real-world IMHO, while the shot of stormtroopers getting out of the transport too animated. But I like the landing (not the last frames when the camera inclinates).

I second the point with the whispers - the idea is great, but I fear that most people would miss it, since the whispers are almost too subtle. 😃
And to add to that: I really liked the “for Skywalker” shouting, but again I could barely here it and had to skip back again to understand what everyone was shouting.
But don’t get me wrong, I absolutely loved the workprint so far - actually it was the first time I could enjoy TROS, so thank you for that, Hal and everyone else working on it. 😃
Having rewatched the scene a number of times, I cannot miss it now. And I think it works, because he addes other whispers while Rey is inside the DS… as if those voices guide her into the Throne Room. You can miss it once, but not all the times 😄

I’ve been able to get around to watching it now and it’s impressive how much the recolouring does for the film. The pacing is good and the removal of the musical numbers helps sell the tension of the Jabba stuff.

I don’t like the over the top blue planet look, but I agree with others who say that there’s already Korriban as a red Sith planet.
If someone doesn’t like that blue tone, I think the only solution is to change Exegol into a dark, black/grey planet.
