Star Wars - Episode IV: The Heir of Skywalker (V2 Released)
Time

Yep, the Imperial March is added the first time we see Vader in the Tantive IV.
About the Sith word dropping somewhereā€¦ I donā€™t remember if the deleted scene with Tagge naming the Sith has a good enough audio to make it usable. Otherwiseā€¦ we would have to take lines from the Prequels, but I donā€™t know how or where it could fit.

The Galen Erso wanted hologram is too fanservicey, though.

In V1 there was a kind of Imperial propaganda video. Maybe Iā€™ll go back to thatā€¦
Thank you šŸ˜„

EDIT: Eventually I think Iā€™ll do what you asked some time ago. Keep the movie as it is and change things only visually.

What differences are there going to be between V1 (whatā€™s listed on the front post) and V2? And do you have an ETA for V2?

Hi! As soon as Iā€™ll restart work on this Iā€™ll update the changelist.
I donā€™t know about the chest lights, mostly because Iā€™ll have to see if Iā€™ll use that edit or which parts of it šŸ˜‰

New crawl.

Some opinions about this?
Does it sound correct, at least? šŸ˜„

Hey man.
Of course the edit is still on work. I just had to postpone it because Iā€™m following an online course about business accounting (hoping to find a freakkin job later) which is pretty time-consuming, soā€¦
About chest lights, Iā€™m not sure Iā€™m capable of doing that with the software Iā€™m using. Iā€™d have to mask the small positions and add some effect. Iā€™ll have to see if thereā€™s some quicker way to do that.
Lukeā€™s jumpcuts can be fixed when he ignites the lightsaber (by making the appearance of the blade smoother). Iā€™ll try to do that in other scenes (doors closing, etc) but I wonā€™t guarantee a great result, lol.
At first I wanted to make the red plans, but considering that I loved Rogue One and how it made outdated effects look intentional, I think Iā€™ll keep them white. Iā€™ll enhance them a little bit, but theyā€™ll still be white.

Of course I try and try again every small change, but Sony Vegas is not the greatest (nor is my editing ability, haha).

Is this the final workprint? ā€œRey Nobodyā€ version has any progress? iā€™m waiting for that version.

All the work put on this edit is incredible and i appreciate all the effort, but i really canā€™t enjoy the movie with that twist, that ā€œtwistā€ cheapens the whole trilogy for me and makes the whole Rian vs JJ tug war situation more glaring.

I canā€™t understand why so many of you have a problem with Rey being a Palpatine. For me, itā€™s the only possible explanation why she is so powerful. I like the character of Rey, but in Part 7 & 8 it always bothered me, that she was too strong and powerful. But when it became known that sheā€™s a Palpatine, everything made sense to me.

Why was Yoda so powerful?
Why was Palpatine so powerful?
The point is that a part of the audience wanted an explanation, another did not. I liked Rey Nobody because this is one of the few fictional universes where I donā€™t need an explanation to justify a characterā€™s strength.

Different strokes, I guess. Iā€™ve always thought of the ā€œItā€™s too late for meā€ exchange as being one of the most powerful in the entire saga, so I canā€™t wrap my head around the idea of thinking itā€™s useless. The whole point of Anakinā€™s tragedy and redemption is that he thought the dark side could not be rejected and could no longer see any good in himself. When Luke rejects the dark side and sees the good in Anakin, it inspires Anakin to finally break free of the dark side.

The PT shows us that Anakin was once a good man, but it doesnā€™t show us much of anything about Anakinā€™s mindset about himself after he becomes Vader. And while ESB establishes that Vader is reluctant to kill Luke, it doesnā€™t establish any deeper meaning behind it other than ā€œheā€™s my sonā€. Itā€™s the relationship they have in RotJ that develops it further, with Luke getting through to Anakin by choosing to see the good in him, refusing to kill him, and rejecting the dark side.

Interesting, but as I said I personally donā€™t need any phrases in that scene. Vaderā€™s gestures, posture and silences look way more descriptive and effective (to me, at least). In my edit there is still a clear conflict, but itā€™s more subtle.
In my head, when I heard ā€œItā€™s too late for me sonā€, I said ā€œOh, ok, so itā€™s definitely not too late. Otherwise he wouldnā€™t have said thatā€. I think itā€™s all about the first experience we had with this movie.

So Iā€™m kind of curious why you decided to removed Vaderā€™s conversation with Luke that showed his conflict. Are there actually people who didnā€™t like that scene? Without it Vaderā€™s redemption comes a lot more out of nowhere, donā€™t you think? Unless Iā€™m misunderstanding that part of your edit.

The main reasons behind this are two:

  1. As I repeat, these edits are meant to be watched in Episodic order (I to VI). So we already know at this point that Anakin became Vader out of ā€œloveā€ and fear of loss, and not really because ā€œuhuhuhuhu, I want to become evilā€.
  2. The first time I watched Return of the Jedi, when Vader looks conflicted, the FIRST thing I said to myself was ā€œOh, ok, heā€™s definitely going to turn back to the lightā€. And this made me lose a liiiiiiittle bit of interest, because I knew that, if Luke were in danger, Vader would have helped him. Definitely.

Soā€¦ no, IMHO it doesnā€™t come out of nowhere, because weā€™ve already established in Empire that Vader doesnā€™t really want to kill Luke. Plus, we donā€™t need words. In the hallway scene, at the end when Luke is taken away by the stormtroopers, the camera remains with Vader a little bit more. Thatā€™s totally enough to show his conflict without useless words.

I just noticed something. The ROTS music that was playing during the pyre was similar to the Clone Wars music playing at the beginning of the episode ā€œVictory and Deathā€! Both songs have the same motif!

I never noticed! Iā€™ll have to check both.
After all I discovered just a few months ago that the parade music at the end of Episode I is basically Palpatineā€™s theme.

For Endor, you tried to bring out the greens, you really did, but the result is a nightmare. Itā€™s giving me Harry Potter color correction PTSD.

What the fuck is wrong with you? The CC on Endor received an overwhelmingly good response, so perhaps instead of being a dumbass and just spewing shit you could try and be a nice guy and criticize it politely and constructively? Iā€™ve seen you do this time and time again, but Iā€™ve never seen you trying to help anyone or even do anything. All you do is shit on others. Learn some respect, idiot.

Sorry for cluttering the thread, IlFanEditore.

Thank you.
I donā€™t mind othersā€™ opinions or criticism. Still, Iā€™m quite satisfied with the result, so it will remain the way it is. As I said, De gustibusā€¦ šŸ˜‰ šŸ˜ƒ
