this sounds awesome. am most interested in your extra shots of the battle of exegol. any updates on that?

i know there’s a B-wing shot that happens after the camera pans away from the horse riders on the star destroyers, and ofc that “deleted” ILM pan space shot too.

cant wait to see how this turns out

I finished Exagol a while ago but I’ve restructured the entire ending so It’s tricky to explain or upload the whole 47 minutes. It’s pretty awesome now though. It has a lot more weight and tension at the fact they could lose and the cavalry doesn’t come in until the last minute.

I’m not sure I’ve seen that deleted pan shot. Are you referring to the one Hal used? If not, do you have a link?

Really hyped by this edit.

The Rise Of Skywalker: Ascendant _ Traccia Audio Italiana (WIP)
Time

Ciao, ti suggerisco di provare a scrivere in inglese nel forum, così ti è più facile farti capire.

For everyone else: he’s basically saying that he loves Hal’s TROS edit and he’s working on the Italian audio track. But considering that Hal and other editors added a few extra lines (Kylo’s, Knights of Ren’s, Palpatine’s message, etc) he’s also trying to record those lines in Italian, even though he doesn’t seem to have adequate tools in order to do so.

Yep, the Imperial March is added the first time we see Vader in the Tantive IV.
About the Sith word dropping somewhere… I don’t remember if the deleted scene with Tagge naming the Sith has a good enough audio to make it usable. Otherwise… we would have to take lines from the Prequels, but I don’t know how or where it could fit.

The Galen Erso wanted hologram is too fanservicey, though.

In V1 there was a kind of Imperial propaganda video. Maybe I’ll go back to that…
Thank you 😄

EDIT: Eventually I think I’ll do what you asked some time ago. Keep the movie as it is and change things only visually.

What differences are there going to be between V1 (what’s listed on the front post) and V2? And do you have an ETA for V2?

Hi! As soon as I’ll restart work on this I’ll update the changelist.
I don’t know about the chest lights, mostly because I’ll have to see if I’ll use that edit or which parts of it 😉

New crawl.

Some opinions about this?
Does it sound correct, at least? 😄

"Nineteen years have passed since

After unsuccessful attempts

Hey man.
Of course the edit is still on work. I just had to postpone it because I’m following an online course about business accounting (hoping to find a freakkin job later) which is pretty time-consuming, so…
About chest lights, I’m not sure I’m capable of doing that with the software I’m using. I’d have to mask the small positions and add some effect. I’ll have to see if there’s some quicker way to do that.
Luke’s jumpcuts can be fixed when he ignites the lightsaber (by making the appearance of the blade smoother). I’ll try to do that in other scenes (doors closing, etc) but I won’t guarantee a great result, lol.
At first I wanted to make the red plans, but considering that I loved Rogue One and how it made outdated effects look intentional, I think I’ll keep them white. I’ll enhance them a little bit, but they’ll still be white.

Of course I try and try again every small change, but Sony Vegas is not the greatest (nor is my editing ability, haha).

Is this the final workprint? “Rey Nobody” version has any progress? i’m waiting for that version.

All the work put on this edit is incredible and i appreciate all the effort, but i really can’t enjoy the movie with that twist, that “twist” cheapens the whole trilogy for me and makes the whole Rian vs JJ tug war situation more glaring.

I can’t understand why so many of you have a problem with Rey being a Palpatine. For me, it’s the only possible explanation why she is so powerful. I like the character of Rey, but in Part 7 & 8 it always bothered me, that she was too strong and powerful. But when it became known that she’s a Palpatine, everything made sense to me.

Why was Yoda so powerful?
Why was Palpatine so powerful?
The point is that a part of the audience wanted an explanation, another did not. I liked Rey Nobody because this is one of the few fictional universes where I don’t need an explanation to justify a character’s strength.

Different strokes, I guess. I’ve always thought of the “It’s too late for me” exchange as being one of the most powerful in the entire saga, so I can’t wrap my head around the idea of thinking it’s useless. The whole point of Anakin’s tragedy and redemption is that he thought the dark side could not be rejected and could no longer see any good in himself. When Luke rejects the dark side and sees the good in Anakin, it inspires Anakin to finally break free of the dark side.

The PT shows us that Anakin was once a good man, but it doesn’t show us much of anything about Anakin’s mindset about himself after he becomes Vader. And while ESB establishes that Vader is reluctant to kill Luke, it doesn’t establish any deeper meaning behind it other than “he’s my son”. It’s the relationship they have in RotJ that develops it further, with Luke getting through to Anakin by choosing to see the good in him, refusing to kill him, and rejecting the dark side.

Interesting, but as I said I personally don’t need any phrases in that scene. Vader’s gestures, posture and silences look way more descriptive and effective (to me, at least). In my edit there is still a clear conflict, but it’s more subtle.
In my head, when I heard “It’s too late for me son”, I said “Oh, ok, so it’s definitely not too late. Otherwise he wouldn’t have said that”. I think it’s all about the first experience we had with this movie.
