It doesn't look warm and toasty inside Echo Base, probably -12 degrees Celsius. So my question is, at the threshold of the hangar door, would the -32 degree air meeting the -12 degree air produce any kind of visible water vapor, or is it too cold?

The "mist" that you can see when you exhale into freezing air is light reflected off ice molecules that have just been formed from the previously liquid water of your breath.

For this effect to occur, the water must have a temperature above freezing to start with.

This would not occur in Echo base because temperatures are below freezing both inside and outside the base (C-3PO said that it was freezing even in Princess Leia's private chamber, remember ... )

Also, air humidity decreases with lower temperatures. Cold weather that is below -5 degrees Celsius is always very dry.

Man!!

What? He shot at Solo too. And just once...I think?

Shit,  I need to watch these films all the way through sometime. It's been a while. Keep having to play back "the robot dinosaurs" part of the film. My son loves it.

Actually, I gave him his first Star Wars figures yesterday. Was a joyous moment. Especially his "wooow" at the creature thing that looks like a dinosaur from Attack of the Clones. A Reek I think, who cares. His face was a picture. Gave him Vader and Luke from the Bespin Duel. Luke has a removable hand. How fucking cool is that! Ha! Espcially as he likes to chop me up with his lightsaber, and keeps chopping my hand off. Is that wrong for a three and a half year old to do that? Still have a whole bag full to give him. Let's see how these go down first.

Sorry, strayed there!

Besides, in this day and age of TiVo and other DVRs, it doesn't matter one bit what channel it's on.  People will set their DVRs to record it and then watch it whenever it shows up on their recorded programs list.  Same goes for just about any other TV show.  If you asked me what time Heroes was on, I wouldn't have a clue.  I simply watch it when it shows up in my list.

God bless Sky+   (UK viewers only)

Hello all I've been following this board and the ANH:R for some time but finally decided to make an account and take part in all the fun.

With all that discussion a while ago about how to end the movie, I remember something from when I saw Empire Special Edition in the theater years ago.

Now it may just be a fuzzy memory to me or something but I can remember at the very end of Empire when all the Rebel ships are at the nebula at the end just before the credits, I can remember seeing them all jump to light speed just before the credits rolled.

I can remember being super excited when the films came out on VHS to see that again because it was what I liked the most out of the added material in the Special Editions. Then to my surprise it wasn’t there, and I haven’t heard anybody mention it ever again.

So it could be all in my head, but I still like the picture that I’ve created there. So maybe if Adywan could do that it be a nice bit to add to the ending.

Thanks again for your time in reading this everybody.

We already covered that earlier in this thread.  It never happened, it was just some people's imaginations feeding off of each other. (and hello...sorry I forgot, I'm just rude!)

Geez, now I'm not sure what to do.  bkev broke all the rules, so I'm not sure if this round should even count or not.  Meanwhile, I'm not sure how ethical I would feel answering a question he happened to get right even though I already knew the answer.  But I also wanted to answer the tools question, but HotRod beat me to that (grr! stop doing that!), except that he left out a couple of the tools Han asked for (since it was plural), so I'm not sure if that question's still up for grabs anymore or not.

And by the way... what's a blue turtle shell?

Eh, sorry, HotRod, I just gotta go for it.  If I'm outta line, I guess I forfeit my points this round.

What tools does Han order Chewie to bring him just before entry into the asteroid belt?

Horizontal boosters, alluvial dampers, and a hydrospanner.

Yeah, it's ok...I was rushing the answer at work (before you got there - ha).....Never knew Han said "Horizontal boosters"  though, I always thought he said "Where's those boosters" - Oh well

I say we start that round again  -- :)
