Well, me and the little one went to see it today. He was so excited about watching the cartoon Star Wars at the cinema, and I was pretty stoked taking him to watch a SW film at the cinema for the first time.
We sat there watching all the bloody adverts, the trailers, and as soon as the WB logo came up....He fell asleep. He slept all the way through the film. Poor little sod.
Me, I didn't think it was that bad at all. Not a masterpiece, and I'm probably one of the only people who thought it was better than the 2d cartoons. To me they were just a little over the top, with all the flying 'super' Jedis an' all. This did seem in keeping with the films. But hey, each to his own.
God to admit, Ziro the Hutt was a little weird. Quite glad my son never got to see the 'Sweet transvestite Hutt'.
On a side note. I saw the visual guide book to accompany the series in out local Tesco's today. Seems there will be a lot of Jar Jar to come in the series. As well as a few more familiar characters. And the back story to the little Jedi chick (sorry forgot her name already) seems pretty cool. Something to do with Plo Koon (man these names crack me up) .
Based on this film I'll give the series a chance.
I share he same opinion as some of you daddy's out there. Just looking forward to taking my son to watch Star Wars at the cinema...The same cinema I spent half my childhood in, watching Star Wars, Indiana Jones, ET....The good ol' days.
Can't wait...Just hope he won't get bored. He's only 3 1/2. He kinda likes SW...Especially the 'robot dinosaurs' and light saber duels, but just can't sit through a whole film.
This being a cartoon may be just what he needs to start his SW fascination. Then, maybe, I will let him have all my old figures and vehicles....Still not sure about that one!
I've been trying to brainwash him ever since he was in his mothers womb. Poor little sod.
Or he's just pissed off with you all jumping on his project, and going on for 30 f**king pages about how blue or grey a pissing Stardestryer should be!!
:)
Or maybe he's on his hols with his family
All wrong on Han's hair........
Ok...So we should also fix the continuity will Solo's hair from one shot to the immediate next!
1000 points to the first person who has a clue as to what scene I'm referring to.
And a 1000000 points to the first person to post a screen shot!!!
Yes, I'm bored at work and have nothing else to
Maybe..But catwoman was probably the best thing in Batman Returns.
But yeah, I'd rather not see her in the next movie.
And if penguin is the villain of the next piece, please god make him more interesting than the version from BR.

Ahhh..The good ol' days of the Ganja....Man, I miss smoking that shit. But I suppose we all have to take priorities in life when we become fathers.
Still, I do miss my weed!!

And Ghost man, why you being such a dick...Over at Ady's thread you seem pretty cool, so why you being such an arse over here??
Thank You!
See...Cats!!
mmm Ooops!
C3PX said:By the end of Batman Begins, we all knew the next villian would be the Joker. This one didn't leave us with a clue.
I hope it is one of the lesser known villians, though a proper Penguin or Riddler would be kind of cool. I hope they leave Catwoman out of this series completely. Especialy with the crappy Hallie Barry movie still out there on the loose. I guess with Rachel gone they will need another love interest for Batman/Bruce Wayne, but I really hope this doesn't give them the idea to use Catwoman to fill that void. I really don't want to see her pop up in the next film.
There was a line in TDK regarding his new suit, which was something to do with 'Cats'...as in , "it'll protect against cats" or something like that. Maybe that was a little clue as to who's in the next movie.

I laughed out loud when I read your comment because I always thought the same thing when watching Batman and Batman Returns. By the by, it always seemed to me like most of the outdoor scenes were filmed on a soundstage rather than on location or a backlot.
But as far as your comment about BB and Dark Knight, I really didn't notice anything. I mean, both of them had Batmobile chases through a tunnel/underpass, so, yeah, same environment. ^_~
So, yeah, HotRod, could you clarify a bit? Maybe it was something I did notice subconsciously. If not, I'll check it out when I see the movie again.
The streets felt narrower in the first. Also the dingy nature of everything and the suffocating train system made the first movie's city seem more run down. The new movie might have just shown us better locations than the first though. ;)

I thought Dark Knight was supposed to take place in a different part of the city. I mean at the end of Begins the "narrows" were declared lost, and earlier in Begins we did see a bit of that familiar corporate-modern city look. I do see what your saying though.

Agreed, I mean it's obvious that he's now living and 'working' in different areas of the city. I guess the city in the first film seemed a bit more high tech what with the monorail and all.
That's what I was on about really. The monorail thing. In BB you see it go right thru Wayne tower, but in this film, nothing. Also Wayne tower was a different building. Not nit-picking or anything, I just thought he film just had a totally different look in TDK. Not a bad thing, I mean it did look a lot more realistic (probably because it was a 'real' city, rather than a CG'ed version.) Better watch BB again I suppose.
Not dissing the film, like I said, I really need to see it again to take in all in.
I did like the wrapping up of the Scarecrow story tho. Surprised the actor playing him (sorry, forgot his name) agreed to such a small cameo.
I thought it was good, but what the bloody hell happened to Gotham City? Looked nothing like the city from the first film!
The same thing happened in 89 Batman & Batman returns. Same guys making the films, just two different looks.
Still, was a good film. Think I need to see it again to take it all in!
