Eyes Wide Shut (Original Cut Preservation / Edit) (* unfinished project *)
Time

Okay so for those who might not know, the Reigon-1 release of EWS was digitally censored during the orgy scene with the studios going through and digitally inserting people to mask the nudity. There is about 65 seconds of this…

The European & Reigon-4 releases don’t have this censoring…HOWEVER

ALL of them do are missing the recital of the Bhagavad Gita because Warner Brothers caved to Hindu groups and removed it from all subsequent releases —> see here: EWS

However! According to IMDB & one/two Amazon.com customers, the missing piece IS on the CD soundtrack…

Track 9 (very bottom)

SO, is there anyone here that might be interested in making an edit of this using the uncensored picture from the European/etc releases, but also somehow re-incorporating the recital of the Bhagavad Gita back into the scene as well by using the audio from the CD?

I don’t have either the know-how to do this, or the Reigon-2/etc release, but I think I can get ahold of the CD sountrack & upload the audio…

Is there anyone with that might be interested in doing such a project to restore Kubrick’s last vision?

How can you so summarily dismiss something you've not seen?

Quite easily actually, I dod it all the time in reference to different things: the new '04 SW DVDs, smoking, drugs, movies like Cannibal Holocaust, etc..
All things I don't believe I have to see/do to have an opinion on..

Eh, so a bunch of obsessive geeks went to it this weekend, got home & punched the rating really high on a pretty big list made up mostly by people who have no taste in film.
Still no care.

About the only list i've ever seen i've gotten close to agreeing with at all is this one by the way: Top 100
Also sci-fi TV is a no-watch for me unless it's Star Trek..

Classic Edition: The Empire Strikes Back by Ocpmovie (Released)
Time

I think I'm going to include one little deleted line that isn't in either version (or any released version). It's in the carbon freezing scene. It might be silly to include it in a serious scene, but we'll see how it plays.

Vat? I thought it was how you remember it?
How can anyone remember it if it's been ommittted from both versions before?

ergh.

Sometimes do you feel like you should give up on the cause?
Time
I surely haven't.

Point in case: the other day for my comm class we had to present a introductory speech about something memorable to us. We were given several days to work on it...
I naturally chose Star Wars & did what Oprah would have made Oprah proud: I burned 27 copies of the TR47 ANH for everyone in the class to have.

That combined with an easy subject (Why Star Wars has been memorable to me) & my being pretty fair at speech giving anyways, all combined in my earning a perfect 100 for the assignment..
So yeah, especially with the kind of support to be had within these boards, no way will I ever give up on Star Wars.
