Wait- I know what Lucas needs!
Time
George does have love in his life, it's just paternal. He loves his children very much. The original trilogy was written in the same vein as American Graffiti. Reckless youth and hopeful optimism, not worrying about what tomorrow brings. Now he sees life through older, wiser eyes in which the idea of family love, responsibility and practicality are most important. Thus the two divergent tones.

Thought on de-SE'ing the DVD

All of those look great and I'm looking forward to getting to see this. About the fanfare, maybe you could talk to Neil S. Bulk about it. Apparently he fixed this. It really is a glaring problem for all of us that grew up with these movies. Those trumpets are something I will hum out loud or play over in my head whenever driving on the highway.

It's just something that becomes engrain in you and when it is missing, it's glaring.

But if you say screw that, I understand that too.

Anywhere I can find more info on this? Is it simply the audio tracks from the LD or certain audio parts replaced to make a more 'true' representation?

Also, if we know who did this, they may be interested in the new John Williams Star Wars Score set coming out right before ROTS release.

Idea: Rescoring AOTC DVD: Fan edit?
Time

I know that alot of fans don’t like Attack of the Clones, and I don’t blame them. However, I can sit down, watch the film and enjoy it.

Following a bunch of links, the rabbit whole lead me to this story: http://jwfan.net/modules.php?op=modload&name=Reviews&file=index&req=showcontent&id=43

It shows where each piece of released and unreleased music from AOTC goes.

What I find most interesting, and we’ve discussed this before, is the scoring problems in the Battle on Genosis.

Which leads me to my question: Has anyone thought about rescoring AOTC (using Williams music of course) to either fix the errors by Lucas or to clean up the mess during the Battle?

Furthermore, before my HDD crashed a few months back, I was working on reinserting the original score into ESB, particularly the music Lucas removed for reasons I still don’t understand. Has anyone else attempted this, and if so, please share.

If you really want to fix a Vader pantomime, look at the discussion between Tarkin and Vader about Leia's lie. He is flailing his arms around like he's trying to sign the whole thing to Tarkin. Vader stops talking at one point and then points at Tarkin, which should have lined up with him stopping. It's always been that way. But if I was in the room when they were doing all the other changes Lucas was doing to the films (not the stupid ones), I would have told him to fix this. It was a dubbing mistake and should have been corrected in 1977.

Well, then, maybe I don't understand the whole ranking thing...but doesn't Mace say in the preview that "We will allow you to be a part of this council, but you will not be granted the status of Master'? I don't want to get into spoilers, just remembered hearing that.

Also, I thought the Mace and Yoda were a class above Obi-Wan. Qui Gonn was a Jedi Master, but not a member of the council.

So, I re-read some of the pages back and never found an answer to if there was a new version of TCW? I know he said he was going back in to edit some stuff, or clean up some SFX. I wonder if he had ever finished it.

From re-reading it, I stumbled upon the arguement about Saber colors. Someone was talking about Mace having a blue blade instead of purple. I've always felt that when a Jedi reached the level of master, his blade would be the green color that both Yoda and Luke had. A Sith Lord would of course have the Red blade and a Jedi Padawan or strictly a Jedi Knight would have the Blue Blade.

Also, does someone have a complete list of the changes to TCW?
