Six DVD set to look like this?

--4. A scene has been added where Yoda is teaching Luke how to fight with a lightasber made possible by Luke wearing a helmet while training (a stunt double plays him)
-5. The Wampa scenes have been edited and restored into the film as well as new scenes added. We see a Wampa being brought into the Rebel base and locked into a room with other Wampa’s. Later C-3PO knocks the sign off the door the Wampa’s are behind stating their there and when the Stormtroopers enter the base they open the door only to be attacked by the Wampa’s who then can be seen escaping as the Millennium Falcon blasts off out of Hoth
-

Well, those two things actually were filmed the first time around, or were in the shooting script so they aren't that outlandish. The helmet thing no, but I could have sworn there was a scene where Luke was supposed to split a piece of metal into 7 pieces with his lightsaber.

As for most of the heavy CGI stuff, it would cost too much money to do it for no reason.

Not anymore. From what I have been told, IMAX no longer has that time restriction on it.

However, it's becoming more and more apparent that LFL has no desire to release this film in IMAX. If they did, they could easily reach the $400 million plateu.

Why don't Clones need mics?

Or - there's no sound in space.

Seriously though, if one can ignore the lack of sound in space and accept that the Force can make people float and remember people they never met, I think mic clicks are the least of the problems.

All good scifi creates 'rules' for it's enviroment. Once those rules are established, if you break those rules, you've created a problem. These mics are such a thing.

It's a bit redundant to have that there, as the crawl just told us there was a blockade, and it makes the Viceroy look stupid for thinking that by saying this, the Jedi are going to go "Oh, really.....well, then we will turn back".

I took care of that years ago in "Balance of the Force".
That entire scene is cut.

Haha, well....I guess that is one way of doing it.

Just rewatched it to figure out what I had written down in my notes. I don't know if you removed a Jar Jar gag in there or what, but if you watch the Dewback's leg, or Qui Gon and Padme walking for that matter, you will see that there are like 3 frames missing and the suddenly scoot forward.

Yeah, I mean....I don't want you to have to do more work than you already have. It was just something I was pointing out in passing. I had a whole list of dialogue that could be removed that wasn't necessary, but that is one of the ones that stick out to me. I mean, it's obvious that Lucas wanted that beginning to be 'mysterious' as this is the first reveal of the Jedi in the saga, so minimal dialogue is key.

Attack on Droid Gunship
Time
Obi Wan Kenobi and Mace Windu standing back to back, as Obi Wan tells Mace they need someone to shut down the droids, while Mace tells him someone else is already on it. Ki Mundi and alittle band of Jedi making their way up the ramp of a droid control ship. Cuts back to the action and there is a couple more swings Mace takes at Jango before removing his head. Mundi and the other Jedi make their way down a hallway, fighting droids. Then there is a scene of them on the bridge, shutting down the droids. Only to moments later have them power back up and Mundi to announce that they are no longer controlled by the ship.

There is actually alot more, but I cut out alot of the extrenious Jedi fighting in the arena stuff, because we don't need more of that. The added lines, Jango Fett and Mundi stuff would help break up the long arena scene.

Just an idea I thought of a coordinated effort to inform SW forum members of the OOT preservation efforts

And we don't have to mention this site at all.

Ah, ok....now we are getting somewhere. I thought you wanted to promote this site. If you are just talking about the OOT cause, then ya....sure, sounds like a good idea.

BTW....where do you guys get your Star Wars news? TFn is terrible, they practically didn't report the Who's Your Daddy posters until the day they were released.

ADM's version of TPM will be the version I watch from now on. The only complaints I have are as follows:
19 minutes into the film, there is an audio drop
When Jar Jar wakes up, you can see him talking, but he says nothing
there is some sort of jump at 29:34
the subtitle size is VERY large. Even if you could just release a corrected file to put on the DVD when burning, that would fix that problem.
at 47:27, for the transition, the picture goes black. Is this an intended effect?

Those are all just technical things with the DVD, that's all.

Creatively, the only things I would have said was to change Jabba's spit noise and there was somewhere that I thought the Binary Sunset theme would have worked wonderfully, but can't remember where.

Anyways, I love this DVD and it is now (for me) the definitive version of TPM. I hope there is an updated version when the new DVDs come out.

Same here. Still, I'm kind of glad. The Throne room music belongs in the Throne room. It didn't sound right.

From what I gather, the credits were supposed to be a montage or last goodbye of sorts, from Williams to the Star Wars fans. That is why the Throne Room was in there.
