With a few scenes removed, deleted scenes put back in, dialogue trims, and creative cut-arounds... I think it's a much more enjoyable film to watch. Still the least on my Star Wars list, but a lot better at that.

I could use that with my own fan edit, I need it to have the camera pan down instead of up.
Thanks in advance if you can!

Granted, I wish there could be less overall bashing here, it sure beats the alternatives of other SW boards.
I am editing Star Wars. So what? I love Star Wars, why can't I edit my own custom version? According to anyone at MF.com, I must despise the films after all.
And with that, I return to the editing chair to continue working on my Episode II edit.

It's not quite the "original" Sebulba intro, but closer.
When I went back to Womble Editor to patch in the shot and wipe to remove the air taxi sequence, I re-edited TPM all over from scratch. I think it's a lot better this time, and I did things a little different.
So that list on the first page might not be entirely accurate anymore.
A few things I did differently:
Overall better editing skill
removed Jar Jar's short spotlight after Qui Gon talks to Obi-Wan via commlink after leaving Watto's shop.
Removed Watto's line "and no one ELSE has a T14 hyperdrive, I promise you that!'
Removed Panaka's line "if we don't get the sheild generator fixed, we'll be sitting ducks"
Thanks to audio from 'BOTF', removed the "captain, look" dialogue. The ship just explodes without the crew freaking out.

But now I enjoy it a lot more after I re-edited it. So it's not nearly as crummy.

Could you post the first clip of the Jedi council again, with the complete shot before and after it? Reason I ask is because it'd look weird to have it suddenly cut to another source in mid-shot.
But that is exactly what I needed, so if you can post the shots before and after "The Situation has become much more complicated" - "There is no stability, only polotics."
Thank you thank you!!!

Is it at all possible for you to run it through DVD Shrink or something and email that clip to me? That'd be great. I'm going to have to re-do TPM anyway, when the digital transfer is released.

And about fixing ESB sabers, I just adjusted the brightness and contrast of the questionable shots. ROTJ sabers are a bit more of a problem, but I handled them the same way. ROTJ sabers were *pretty* messed up, and in my version they suck *less*.
Also in ROTJ, I'm toying with maybe toning down the blue tint across the whole film. But the re-encoding detracts from the picture quality. We'll see how it looks, Womble is exporting it as I type.

I used Darth Editous's amazing edit as the base. Many changes I wanted to make were already there, as well as technical miracles like fixing Luke's saber.
I did however, fix some of the things he did that I wanted to change back. I put the red R5 back in, as well as the "look sir, droids" scene from the official DVDs. (If you leave it the way DE did it, you loose some of the musical score... I'd rather have it the way it is. Sorry.) Also, the stormtrooper now hits his head again.
I put in the original Dewback call Obi-Wan makes to scare away the tusken raiders.
Left DE's Mos Eisley alone, but I did put the Wolfman back in.
Greedo shoots first, with the regular length of "yes, I bet you have" shot, and no long shot of either one shooting. It's the way it is on LD.
Put back the English "power" control that Obi-Wan deactivates.
From Classed Edition, replaced "Blast it, Biggs where are you?" with "Blast it, Wedge where are you?"
From the '97 SE, added in the line "He's on your tail!"
That's it. The rest is the same as the Darth Editous edit. There's very little that I could improve on his already comprehensive edit!

For Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi, I will use AdigitalMan's versions as the base.
For The Phantom Menace and Attack of the Clones, I used the official DVDs as the base. Revenge of the Sith will be done the same way.
And if rumors are true, than I will return to TPM in November to take advantage of the new digital transfer.

In Episode II, they only reason the 'purple electricity' is between the two things is b/c Zam shoots one of them. I doubt they're the same thing. These are "power couplings".
That's just my guess. Besides, I'm not changing anything with continuity in these films anyway.

Subtitles work, the movie works, chapter stops work, it all works! There's no menu, because I couldn't make one that looked decent.
A huge thank you to AdigitalMan, not only for a few shots of borrowed footage, but for the help and 'video wizardry' along the way.
I expect Episodes II, IV, V and VI should be completed in the near future as well.

How do I just select a 'mark in' and 'mark out' point, and cut it away? It'll just let me cut an entire clip away, but not a certain part like that.

I downloaded a trial of MPEG Video Wizard recently, but couldn't figure out how it works. I searched Videohelp for a guide on how to edit/cut/copy/insert with it like I had been doing with MPEG-VCR but couldn't find any.
If MPEG VIdeo Wizard is like MPEG-VCR, than I should be able to learn how to use it if I can find a tutorial.
I'll have to start all editing over, but that's good. Now I know exactly where and what to edit, and it'll be much easier this time around, and the end product would probably be better.
Here's what I've been doing using MPEGVCR:
http://www.videohelp.com/mpegvcredit.htm
If someone knows how to do just that with Video Wizard, than I've got it made.
