Sounds like a killer fan edit! I might even recommend it over my own!

And please tell me what program you used to create your scene transition effects. I have searched and searched to fine one that works, please please tell me.

My idea for a "prank edit" to show to first-time viewers was this:

It'll be unaltered BTTF part 1, right up until Marty is sent back to the future via lightning bolt. Then, in a brilliant moment of utter confusion, a SECOND Marty runs out from behind the clocktower dressed in black, and tells Doc he's back from the future.

Then transition back to 1985, as normal.

If France is the only one getting the anamorphic versions, we could always convert it to NTSC (whichever method Darth Editous converted his ANH edit with looks outstanding) and sync it with multiple versions of the soundtrack and burn it to a DL disc.

If push comes to shove, that is.

Even if France will be the only one, surely this is more than enough bantha fodder for a preservation in anamorphic in english NTSC.

I like Part III, I don't see why people think it's terrible. Of course, I'm a long time Back to the Future nut. My bathroom is themed with BTTF, I kid you not.

But yeah, a shorter Part II-III cut would be interesting to try.

No, I don't really think that'd be appropriate for the chronological edit.
If I did that, which I've tried before and failed, it'd be individually for each film.
The deleted scenes appear to be interlaced, and when joined with the films themselves, appear squished vertically. I'm a dunce so I gave up.

Well, you guys asked for it, and here it is: The Back to the Future Chronological Edit.

Spent most of this afternoon and evening tampering with it, and it looks decent, considering. It's especially interesting where it intercuts between two simultaneous adventures at once in 1955 (and when Marty returns to 1985 to see Doc get shot again).

If someone could create an awesome logo to accompany it, give the appearance of not just an ameature geek editing at home. This will probably be a two disc set. 1885-1955 on disc 1, with 1985-2015 on disc 2.

Any other help or suggestions would be great, it's not too late.

The soundtrack for Episode III has different music for the opening shot of the film than the movie. It has a dramatic entry from the main theme into the score, rather than war drums.

If someone can provide isolated sound effects without music for the opening shot, I can try to include the alternate music.

Well yes, I know it's a very simple edit.

And that is a great idea about chronological, that I did with some tapes and a VCR a few years ago. That might be worth attempting too.

I’m working on a simple edit of the Back to the Future trilogy, simply combinging them into a single movie. Only bad thing is picture quality. It will look like crap. I could do a DL version, so it won’t look quite too bad.

There’s no trick to it, it should be easy. I don’t know whether to leave the opening credits to each movie in their place, or cut them out.

This may not be possible, but does anyone know a way to have the opening credit sequence in Part III, but without the credits? Is there some type of photoshop-ish program that can do that? Because that’d be great.

Anyway, anyone ever watched them back to back?

Let me be the first to say, this sounds reall cool.

I like how you're trying to remove C3PO from the prequels. Would recoloring him and redubbing him work for episode III, so you don't have to cut all the footage with him in frame?

I decided against doing a fan edit.
Not a whole lot I can actually do with it exept insert the Pig Head scene. Can't uncensor those shots myself, although that'd be cool.

So I just ended up watching the movie again. Great movie.
