Handman, please stop posting unless you have a contribution of substance.

I took a quick look at it and there's some very creative work there. I'd definitely watch it as part of a "fun" view of the saga, alongside stuff like the "Funked Up" TPM, Grindhouse ANH, etc. I don't mean it to sound derogatory, just that it looks more like a fun option than a theatrical cut.
+1 for "the Darth side," or maybe just "the side," as opposed to the front or back.

Even in that very story. Ol' Veers.

I wonder how much City of Death inspired George a faceless concept modeler whose sculpture George randomly signed off on while working on AOTC
Fixed.
I like the microseries and remember it fondly. It bridges the gap between Episodes II and III organically, because that's when it was produced. I'd rather watch it a hundred times than watch the 3D series again. Only bad thing is it conditions you to be disappointed with Grievous in Episode III.
Just chiming in to answer "no." ;(
That's why I had a sinking feeling for a lot of part three: so much of the stuff I didn't like was integral to the story. Stuff like Bard's son acting as his bow, Thorin dying on ice away from the rest of the action after a drag out fight with Bolg Azog, etc. I was feeling pretty good after part one which had most of its junk fairly segregated from the good/important parts.
I don't know if my 2007 edits are available anywhere, and I don't have the heart to link you to Frink's upload request thread.
If not, I'd suggest myspleen.
Hey, be glad I didn't recommend the original films.
Might I recommend searching for my old (circa 2007) edits? They are DVD quality but hardly change anything when it comes to continuity.
if you edit the prequels can you please keep anakin telling obiwon that he is generalizing? it foreshadows that he becomes a general
Can it be here for tomorrow?
Frink, I saw the thread, but thanks for the notice.
Maybe there'll be fewer questions in my threads now. It was fun, but I think we've had enough by now, and it's spreading.
I've talked with this guy before, and he knows his stuff. Thanks for posting! Worth it for anyone interested to read.
I didn't sit down and watch the entire thing, but skimmed through it. It's really not half bad at all! I like it better than any other 3-in-1 edit I've been mildly curious about. I don't think I'd ever want to actually watch one, but I thought yours did it well.
I thought you absolutely nailed the opening. I know this is a dead project now, but I'll treat it as a workprint anyway and give you a few thoughts.
It might be better to follow the "long time ago" title card with the wide shot of the Naboo set piece where the Duel of the Fates kicks in full force (in TPM, the shot that follows the 'ascension guns' thing).
It might be good to keep some of the virgin birth and chosen one stuff, to give the film a thematic clinch, setting it up at the beginning and hearing it pay off at the end. Also, keeping the virgin birth dialogue in the first flashback would clear up confusion about Qui-Gon maybe being his father.
Also, it might be good to keep either a Qui-Gon voiceover at the end or the exposition about him to call back to the beginning of the film, again for cohesion.
Just thoughts. I thought it was pretty damn good; why call it quits now?
Ultimately that rule exists to protect ourselves. We want this sort of thing to continue to be possible to create and share, right? Then let's follow the rules and not jeopardize it senselessly.
lol, just saw an opportunity to shoehorn in a quote is all.
I'm out of it for a little while, and everyone has delusions of grandeur.
If I remember right, Coruscant Standard year was 360 days.

I wish Ady would do RotJ:R first before moving on to the PT. But from the sounds of it, he's going to do RotJ:R and PT:R all at once.
Really, now? Where'd you hear that?
Hey, thanks! I'm very happy with how they turned out, now at the end of this long process. They've exceeded my meager expectations when I had to figure out how to use Final Cut and hope I could cobble something together. Having done edits years ago using ADigitalMan's guide and DVDs, I knew I wouldn't feel right with just picking someone else's edits, however well done. What kicked me into gear was the (enthusiasm that built up after the initial lackluster surprise of) the announcement of more Star Wars films: it meant I had to tske care of some unfinished business with the prequels. That's partially why I leaned toward the conservative end on sticky issues like Darth as a title, and chosen one prophecy: future proofing my edits. Hopefully the ST and beyond don't heavily reference Padme specifically dying in childbirth. A book doing it is fine.
It seems like the franchise is in capable hands. I sincerely hope there's no need to FanFix Ep7 or beyond, even if there are small things one could do. To me, if the film is good at its core, I'd rather just see the actual film than a fan edit that just prunes it or what have you. ROTJ is a good borometer: it has problems that a fan edit could ease, but ultimately passes the test, as would the two new Star Trek films.
Is it too late to say that if Star Wars were a food, it'd be C-3PO's?
