I don’t remember which one, but there’s an edit which renders the line, “He could use the Force [] to create life.”

I like the idea of placing the Yoda scene immediately prior to Crait.
Would you mind waxing eloquent about the wrestling you’ve already done with this?
I saw that, thank you. I think it’s important that the Luke ‘moment’ scene be placed at the front end, since it lets us know he is not 100% resolved against hope. Helps it seem less abrupt when he oscillates his position later, especially the Yoda scene.
By the time I sit down to gather my thoughts and begin contemplating and planning what to do, people have already done so much.
In about two weeks, there’s already about as many prior edits for me to review as there were for the prequel trilogy after a decade!
I’m not quite ready to get the NLE fired up just yet, though. It’ll be my first real project with FCPX, and I already feel the pain of adjusting.
Also, I may not use as many of the deleted scenes as I initially thought, since I think RJ was right to trim the movie in most cases. We’ll see; it is hard to say how I may end up structuring things for this edit until I get started in earnest.
Looks like we have a problem with the “third lesson” deleted scene. Rey running across the landscape is clearly a temp effect and looks very unconvincing. Also, the final shot of the scene features a totally motionless ocean with no waves.
I’m betting someone around here could tackle the second of these, and perhaps that would be good enough to make it usable.

- Rose gets shot by a walker during the speeder scene and then. .
Lol. I’d like to see that! Could you post a few clips, perhaps?
TAS has been updated and everything is set in place. Feel free to download from any of the usual avenues. Thanks for your patience.
I’d love to see 2001 this way; I’ve only ever seen it on a TV screen.
Was this the case in the original, or just a problem with the SE’s CGI X-wings?
What route did Rogue One take on this point?
Yeah, continuity aside, the Death Star doesn’t play into the prequel story at all, especially not AOTC. It’s an unneeded cameo which muddies the water for no payoff. The ending of ROTS has the Death Star being built, and at least there it is relevant since it shows that the Empire is in place and that the OT is coming next, contrived as that may be.
What would be cool IMHO is to make the Death Star at the end of 3 look like the schematics from RO and ANH with the dish on the equator.
Very nice, though I would hate to lose the original music. Remember, though, that the filmmakers were careful NOT to do any foley for his footsteps. 😉
I plan on using the regular BluRay as my source, because I know my machine can handle it, the handful of deleted scenes I hope to use are presented in 1080p, and I cannot imagine ever playing it on a screen on which I could appreciate the difference in resolution.
Also I’m a curmudgeon.
DominicCobb, it turns out I had not yet gotten rid of the primary video source (ProRes file) for AOTC, so it will be relatively easy to make that change and reencode. I have all the audio ready and will get a fixed version addressing the errant astromech sounds and swap the two establishing shots (so at least the Senate building is in the first one, even if the focus isn’t on it).
THEN, I’ll have a beer. Maybe I’ll even post a picture of it.
Thanks; should be able to take care of that one as well. Very glad you watched the whole thing, and that you enjoyed it overall.
Thank you, and yes, I was aware of that less than ideal shot choice. The video is locked at this point, and I’m okay with that.
It’s fine, TAS only has the one audio track. 😉
Thanks in advance. You’ve been more than patient throughout this.
The champagne will have to wait another few days.
Just watched this new version, and it’s most impressive. With the 720p version, some of the deleted scenes look almost as sharp as the rest.
I almost don’t want to bring attention to any potential issues, but there was one thing that sounded out of place - at the end of Dooku’s discussion with the Separatists, the eavesdropping Obi-wan turns his head and there is the sound of an astromech. Is this sound supposed to be there?
Damn! Nope, that’s an out and out mistake. Thank God it’s at least audio only.
People are just gonna hate that I have to replace an entire upload a second time. Not to mention ChainsawAsh. Ugh. But that’s all right, it’ll be fine.
Thanks for letting me know!
Very nice clips. I wonder, if you aren’t using audio sources other than the BluRay itself (and it seems not deleted scenes which use English vocals), perhaps it would be possible to “reconnect media” when you are done to export an English version as well?
I especially like everything about Finn on the Star Destroyer, the entrance and the exit.
I won’t post anything in this thread, so no misreading this time 😉

LOE is now available via the normal channels. (Google Drive links will be finished uploading in about one hour.)
Very grateful to everyone who contributed in various ways to producing this as it is and will be. I look forward to watching these after a long interim prior to Episode 9’s release.
I’ll probably relax for a while before picking up TLJ, but that’ll be next.
I think he is saying to use an incorrect Roman numeral.
If X is ten and V is five, normal eight is VIII. But, it might be more ridiculous to render it as IIX.
I dig it.
That’s a great way to cut the scene. Only way to improve it that I see is to rescore with something other than temp music from AOTC. Should be possible since no dialogue and very minimal foley is present in that portion of the scene.
Insert the Jabba Special Edition scene in ANH, but constantly morph between the human, CGI, and shitty 1997 CGI versions of Jabba.
WYSHS
I guess it would have to be that way. I envisioned it as it being Jabba every time the camera cuts back to him, but there’s one big problem with that: the whole scene is one continuous shot.
I just imagine it being funnier that way: constantly morphing between all three, or even just the two CGI versions if the human actor is too much to align.
