And I hope the two don’t actually encounter each other in the present during the show. ANH strongly implies and feels like they’ve not met since Vader “left” Kenobi. It should be a 20-years-in-the-making encounter.

Hmm. Well, I wouldn’t choose to pit the two together in 10BBY, but maybe they’ll do it in a way that feels congruent.

Yes and yes. I’d call them V6.1 or something but I have always just used straight numbers for clarity’s sake so I will here too.

I have been working on something, and it’s nearly ready to be released.

I decided to reissue Cloak of Deception, The Approaching Storm, and Labyrinth of Evil with remastered ‘deleted scenes’ using the footage provided by bryantmh as described in the thread linked to below.

While the result remains imperfect, it’s a large step up and the scenes feel like they posture themselves to blend in better with the main movie. I’d like to think I can set these prequel edits down without leaving anything on the table. I don’t think there’s much else anyone could do to make them more presentable in a theater (given that those deleted scenes are gonna be there).

I do not plan to make any real changes beside this. For COD, I added about half a second of pause after the new 3PO line immediately prior to the podrace sequence which was too quick in V6. For TAS I tweaked the sunset kiss effect and swapped the establishing shots before and after the ‘Padme addresses the Senate’ scene. For LOE I plan to reinstate the line “FOR DEMOCRACY” (because recent U.S. political shenanigans have given me an appreciation for it).

I would once again like to thank MMP, poppasketti, Catsailor73, ChainsawAsh, EddieDean, Josanael, RogueLeader, and Neerb for their help with the new(er) computer. Without it, this would not have been possible even if my older one hadn’t bitten it.

Well, it’d probably be better to have their permission first, though obviously nothing would really prevent sniping the footage.
I emailed them to scope out their sensibility about this kind of thing.

Another random question: do you think this Ashoka-centered version will see Yoda and R2 in a room together? Just wondering bc I don’t know the show well enough.

Is all the footage available? I think that’d be real nice to include in this “half assed” project. I’d totally do a V2; it’d be easy.

Does the Microseries depiction of the immediate precursor to ROTS conflict with TCW’s? I certainly wouldn’t mind essentially having Volumes 1 and 2 of the Microseries bookend this project, but for all I know the Palptine kidnapping thing might fly in the face of TCW.

Definitely looking forward to seeing this and getting caught up in light of the slew of new TV we’re in for.

Well, that’s a lot of TV.

It does feel sort of scattershot, with series happening all over in different time periods. With the old EU, there was a sense of there being a post-movies main storyline that would be pushed forward here and there.

I really wouldn’t mind having a Rey series to carry the main storyline forward throughout all this. But I’ll look forward to most of these announced shows, for sure.

Wow, that certainly is impressive.

I uploaded most clips and pieces that people may want to use to the Google Drive recently. There’s certainly enough there to sort through.

I haven’t talked with Kerr for a long time now, and it seems like they may have fizzled out. If so, I’m really glad to have done these versions. Hopefully they’ll turn up eventually, but I don’t have any information to give about it.
