Looking good, Burbin!
Looking good, Burbin!
Looks fantastic!
I’d say if you could perhaps extend the first shot a few seconds, I can see if I can similarly extend it even just a second or so on the audio end of things.
Y’know, back in the day it had to have been through LimeWire. I must’ve heard about it online somewhere.
Yep. I remember going into a Pizza Hutt/Taco Bell/KFC during the TPM blitz. Shit was LIT.
Whoa, what the hell happened in here? I usually end up blissfully unaware of most of this kind of drama.
I don’t know who’s lying and have no way to be able to.
I’ll look forward to SilverWook’s thoughts with hope, but it’s been shit losing some of our good old-timers recently.

You kids need to learn your history.

Yeah, I don’t think so. 😕

Sebastian Shaw footage can be taken from films he was in pre-ROTJ
Sounds reasonable, you could probably—-
with the eyebrows digitally removed and rotoscoped onto Anakin’s body in jonh’s ghost scene.
If you’d like to produce one, I’d welcome it. I don’t have any idea about that kind of thing.
Also, V7 is now available.
Thanks for the kind words and I’m really glad you enjoyed it! The effort was far from “single-handedly.” Still, happy to be the ambassador for nearly 20 years of fan edits of this particular movie.
And PM sent.
I’ll jot that down for when I work on V2. Thanks!

Thanks!
This maybe isn’t a bad idea, but I’ll drop it here anyway.
Deepfake Han Solo for his TROS vision scene. The source will be Han Solo throughout TFA, to match how Harrison looked during those couple months. Maybe it’d be good, or maybe it’d be terrible. If I had the skill, time, and equipment, there’s tons of SW-related deepfake ideas that could be tested out.
You (probably?) have the current version; that description wasn’t meant to be an exact quote. I re-recorded the lines for V2 or V3 but the wording remained the same, I believe.
And my prequel edits take a deliberate approach not to alter their “prequel” nature, as those three films read that way naturally. They aren’t any better or worse than the theatricals in terms of viewing them chronologically versus in release order. Plus, what happens with the twins is already less clear that ideal given the footage available to work with the “Padme lives” idea, so I wouldn’t want to muddle it further.
I’d go for green. Luke’s saber is my favorite. And I’d swing it around like a baseball bat while executing gangsters by the dozen before blowing up the building.
So, R2 is totes the one who saved Grogu at the Jedi Temple, right?
BIG Fortuna
What was changed for the space battle? I skimmed through and didn’t notice anything different. Which actually makes me happy.
I’d say just distribute final output based on the commercial BluRay and anyone can apply whatever they were applying to it anyway to make it consistent with their project.
As Rey hears the voices of Jedi past, Mace Windu speaks, “I sense a plot to destroy the Jedi.”
And, Luka, that looks perfect to my eyes.
Also, I’m genuinely interested in your first impression of the added dialogue when the huge fleet arrives, since that was totally absent in the theatrical. Did it feel like an edit or addition by us?
Anjohan, thank you for your thoughts. Interesting to hear from someone for whom Ascendant was their first viewing of the film. I tend to agree with your overall assessment, that the movie is really an unfortunate conclusion to the saga and doesn’t leave fan editors much of the usual gifts. It’s a frustrating movie that we’ve been able to improve to a satisfying degree, though it remains a mess.
I’d be interested to hear your thoughts if you skim through the cut list, if you haven’t already.
