It was still Palpatine’s plan to use Rey’s father until he discovered it wouldn’t work. But whatever is the easier for the viewer to understand.

And then while on Exegol:

“I don’t want you dead… I want you here.”

"Long have I waited… your father… Ben Solo… now YOU will take the throne.”

“Weak… like your father.”

Yes, however for it to work the “Long have I waited…” and assumptions that this always has been the plan needs to be removed.

It needs to be clear there was 3 targets in this order:

1. Rey’s dad
2. Ben Solo
3. Rey

Maybe instead of “Weak… like your parents”, when Rey resists it can turn to “Weak… like your father”

This could work using existing Palpatine quotes to piece it together:

Emperor:

List of space/ships shots that could hopefully be made by someone with WAY more skills than me:

• Space shot of Ochi’s ship approaching Kimji
• Shot of Ren’s TIE approaching Endor
• Shot of Rey in Ren’s TIE leaving Endor
• Shot of Rey in Ren’s TIE approaching Anch-To
• Rey taking Luke’s X-Wing and leaving Anch-To in space
• A tease of Vader’s TIE leaving Endor
• The Falcon in space approaching Tatooine

One thing that would be very nice for V2 is more establishing shots. Maybe some of the technical gurus on here could make some shots of the Falcon or Ochi’s ship in space heading towards Kimji or Tatooine at the end of the movie.

Like how @poppa made the shot of Ochi’s ship flying away, anything that can add some breathing room. Maybe a shot of Ren’s TIE approaching Anch-To? Rey taking Luke’s X-Wing and leaving Anch-To in space? Or maybe a tease of Vader’s TIE leaving Endor?

Does any have the new shot of the TIEs flying towards the camera over the trees?

I know it was posted in this thread but can’t seem to find.

It could be like this:

TIEs approach Mustafar -> Poppa’s shot of TIEs and trees -> Fly over trees with castle in background (possibly extend without the TIEs to focus on the environment) -> Kylo fighting

This proposed order would allow us “the audience” to follow the TIEs down to the planet as they approach an environment similar to Kylo’s before we cut to his rampage

Agreed. I thought I remembered a mock-up shot with the castle in the background with the TIEs flying towards the camera over some burnt up trees. I liked that one shot a lot more.

I’d just cut out the yavin appearance and only have them in the background on the tantive iv

I’d love to see R2 and C3P0 in the Tantive hall at the end. I remember there being a whole confusing debate about them on Yavin being a continuity error. Maybe just have them to the side as the troops run by.

Is it just me or does the left side of the castle look a little off?
