Can we all please try our best to look at the initial post frequently and limit this thread to only discussing topics currently relevant for Ascendant?

• Just keep an eye out for things at the moment.

Things waiting on others:

• Depict the Skywalker saber as ‘cracked,’ with an unstable blade reminiscent of Kylo’s (kewlfish completed some of the shots needed, as have Luka Frik and MoviesRemastered; RogueLeader is trying his hand at present)

• Remove the milky eyes that appear in Rey’s vision (NeverarGreat working on)

• Add a small line from the young actor who played Sors Bandeam in ROTS to the Jedi voices sequence (mediated by CaptainFaraday)

• Receive Italian foreign language track from IlFanEditore and a German track from KetchupGore

The point of having “You were right” was to help with the retcon from TLJ

I think if he said “I saw them. You were right. Your parents were no one. They chose to be…” it would flow a lot better.

Again, I do like this idea and wish it could be fully realized without seams.

I guess the question is… can we make something doable for V2 for this idea and can anyone assist to make it happen?

Instead of “KILL THR GIRL!” at the beginning, can it just somehow be changed to “Bring me the girl!”

Rey still thinks Palpatine wants to kill her throughout the film.

Kylo thinks Palpatine just wants Rey, however he wants to go there together to defeat Palpatine. Palpatine wants them both for their dyad. Kylo is afraid Palps will kill her which is why he only wants her going with him; which is what Palp’s goal is.

Line Changes:

Kylo Ren: What could you give me?

Emperor Palpatine: Everything. A new empire. The might of the Final Order will soon be ready. It will be yours if you do as I ask. Bring me the girl, end the Jedi and become what your grandfather Vader could not. You will rule all the galaxy as the new emperor. But beware. She is not who you think she is.

Exactly my thoughts on this! Searching through PAGES of stuff to find a video link is a pain. Even being able to filter posts that contain external links would be nice.

I would love to see this idea fully realized. I posted a mockup of it a while ago but my experience is nowhere close to where it would need to be to pull it off. I think the music just needs to extend out a bit. I’m just not a fan of it cut straight from Rey’s theme to the credits 🤷‍♂️

Agreed, Luke desperately needs to lose the long hair and few extra pounds Jonh trimmed off to fix that scene and make it watchable. With all the other added changes to the Luke scene, the final version will look like a masterpiece compared to the original.

I forgot if jonh said he’d be interested in doing a version with Sebastian Shaw or not. I wish he’d come back around soon. For all we know, he could finish the crackly saber sequences since he’s already done a far grander sequence in this project.

When speaking privately with Jonh, he informed me that he would try taking a crack at it.

Hopefully he won’t mind me posting this, but I reached out to MR and he told me he unsubbed from most threads and is just keeping in touch with some people via PM.

He’s having some computer issues and will hopefully rejoin the thread once they have been fixed.

@Testing really did a lot to hurt people’s morale around here…

I saw, I’m not a fan of titling it that. It kind of ruins the immersion when you know its a reboot and not a sequel.

We also replaced “you’ll take both sabers to Exegol” with “We’ll always be with you”. At least that’s how I remember it.

If my memory serves me right, the new dialogue should be as follows:

Luke: “There’s something my sister would want you to have…”

Rey: “Leia’s saber.”

Luke: “It was the last night of her training, Leia told me that she had sensed the end of her Jedi Path. She surrendered her saber to me and said that one day, it would be picked up again, by someone who would finish her journey. We’ll always be with you, but this is your fight.”

Rey: “I can’t get there. I don’t have the wayfinder. I destroyed Ren’s ship.”

Luke Skywalker : “You have everything you need.”

Flipped shots are always so distracting. I can forgive them for flipping one face. I’d say trim the scene but don’t flip it.

Also agreed. The word “end” just sounds so funky in the other versions since it is being cut together. This one sounds the most natural.

Nope, I had mentioned before that I feel it needs to be smoothed together a little more if possible. One trick I have learned is overlapping the audio and using volume levels and fades to crossfade more and that usually works well.
