I think the original CSI is a brilliant show. The other CSI's are a little too much like Law & Order. There are a few things I've noticed in the picture.
1. Brass is missing and has the same body type as the Vic.
2. Greg looks like he has a shiner, or maybe that's just bad lighting. He also has a photo of someone in his jacket pocket.
3. Nick appears to be wearing a ring on his ring finger.
4. Grissom appears to have a smudge on his collar.
5. The slot machine is showing 3 cherries. Maybe someone won big.
6. I don't think that is a badge in the Vic's pocket. It appears to be a hankerchief or rope.

I've always felt the character that closest represents me is Conrad Jarrett from Ordinary People. Others are Travis Bickle from Taxi Driver and the Narrator from Fight Club. From television, I would add Kevin Arnold from the Wonder Years, Anthony Soprano from the Sopranos(not the whole mob thing, but elements of his personality), and Tim/Jim from the Office.

Some that they had listed are not bad at all and some don't even have nudity. Jamie Lee Curtis was never nude in True Lies and she still has a great body.

Kathy Bates in About Schmidt was pretty bad, but I had read that the scene would be in there and expected it. Bates was nude in an earlier movie called At Play at the Fields of the Lord, an attack on Christian missionary work. Her character goes insane and eventually comes out covered only in mud. That is the one of the most disturbing scenes ever filmed.

I'd also have to agree with DigitalMan, there is no need for frontal male nudity.

I saw this Sunday and thought it was brilliant. It had some great action sequences and, unlike most generic action movies(Firewall-I'm looking at you), it had a brain. It reminded me of Munich and, like Munich, I think people in charge of government should watch it and think about it. Of course they won't because it looks like a silly action/comic book movie rather than an allegory.

The most powerful movie of last year was Munich. I think it had a lot to say about the nature of violence and how people and nations react to terrorism. This is the kind of movie that our current and future political leaders should watch and think about.

I'd have to agree with those who hated Dead Poets Society. I was in high school when I first saw it and believed that Mr. Keating deserved to be fired. Also, I hate whenever movies indulge in bizarre suicide rituals that seem take ten minutes. The way the suicide of Robert Sean Leonard is shot, it is almost pornographically nostalgic.

I went 18 of 24 in predicting the Oscars. I missed Picture, Cinematography, Song, and the three awards for shorts.
I happen to think Munich may possibly be the best, probably the second best next to City of God, movie of the decade so far. I'm glad it was nominated and wish it would have won something.
I saw all the nominees in the normal categories. I thought Crash sucked. It beat you over the head with every conversation being about racism and every character being racist. Brokeback was not a great movie, but at least it was a little more subtle.

That sucks. I had an idea for something similar, except my idea was a group of friends going to confront Lucas at Skywalker Ranch over Lucas' changes in the original trilogy instead of looking for a place to watch a movie. It would have been like Get Shorty if they couldn't actually get Shorty to be in the movie and shoot it on a shoestring budget. It would have been called "George Lucas is Pissing on My Childhood", or "George Lucas is Killing My Childhood" if the MPAA had a problem with the first one.

I haven't seen Brokeback yet. I did go to see Munich and that is definitely one of the best, if not the best, movies of the year.

The original King Kong is a great movie, but so is the new movie. Jackson has crafted something that is different enough in tone and look that they are two seperate movies, unlike a lot of remakes.

Up until the DVD's came out, I never realized the Emperor in Empire Strikes Back was played by someone different than the Emperor in Return of the Jedi. I think the blend is almost seemless.

I saw King Kong last night. It has replaced Sin City as the best movie of the year. It is easy to get a great performance out of Naomi Watts or Adrian Brody and it is easy to make visual effects look good. However, to get a great dramatic performance out of Jack Black and to get a great dramatic performance out of computer generated 25-foot ape with no dialogue in English is an accomplishment. An even bigger accomplishment is making me care about the love triangle between a man, a woman, and an ape.

I will have to agree with those who were disappointed in Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe. My biggest complaint is the seeming need for all the action sequences. I haven't read the books in about five years, but I'm pretty sure the waterfall sequence was not in there. It seemed a bunch of the scenes were too short and might have missed some main points. There is no mention that Aslan is a lion before they get to him. I prefer the cartoon from the 70's. This one was not a bad movie, just not really good. It does not make my top ten.

For me, it was Attack of the Clones. I had accepted Phantom Menace as a Star Wars for the 90's. I realized Star Wars was no longer setting the standard, but following other filmmakers. In Clones, I became bored, something that had not happened in a Star Wars movie previously. Return of the Jedi and Phantom Menace had their share of silly things, but I never felt bored.

I rented Last Action Hero after hearing everyone bash it and I really enjoyed it. It's not a great movie, but it is very inventive and Arnold's certainly done worse.
A friend suggested I rent Half Baked. While it was a very stupid comedy, I laughed so hard that my parents heard me on the other side of the house.

I think the only way Lucas can redeem himself is by releasing the originals on DVD and apologizing for the "falling in love with half finished film" comment. That is the only way I can see that I would be able to forgive him and buy what he puts out.

Actually, Boyz N the Hood was directed by John Singleton while From Hell was directed by the Hughes Brothers, who did Menace 2 Society. I think the big difference between the two is that the Hughes Brothers are interested in filming violence in a cool way while Singleton is more interested in the effects of violence.

I saw part of the trailer on Smallville last night. It was fun to hear Brando's voice again. They didn't show much new footage. Singer's been coasting on Usual Suspects(something he directed, not wrote) for too long. He needs to do something special here.

I'll probably see the new Harry Potter movie next week. I'm not a teenager, so I think I'm going to avoid the openning week crowd and I have a friend that has been dying to see Capote or Walk the Line.

To add to the discussion of Potter v. Christianity. I'm a Christian and I know there are plenty of books about how bad it is, but I don't see anything wrong with it. If there is, then there is a problem with Star Wars, the Lord of the Rings, and Chronicles of Narnia. The last two of those were written by Christians.

I haven't read any of the books, but saw the first three movies. I thought the first movie was a really good movie that had great potential. The problem with the first movie was that it came out the same year as the best fantasy movie of the last twenty years(Lord of the Rings: Fellowship of the Ring) as well as the best teen angst movies(Donnie Darko). It is the best of the three. The second movie worked until the ending had Harry fighting a giant CG snake with a sword. I didn't like the third movie. I kept hearing how dark it was and it never seemed to be. Also, it seemed to forget all about the rivalry between the houses. The ending was just a deux es machina. I'm hoping for good things from the the guy who made 4 Weddings and a Funeral and Donnie Brasco.

I was skeptical going into last night's episode, but they are pulled it off enough that I don't mind that I haven't seen Jack or Kate in two weeks.

I'm guessing Anna Lucia is a schoolteacher.

I'm a huge Steelers fan. I would love for the Steelers to get Owens, but I doubt they would pay him what he wants. They can have anyone except Ben Roethlisburger, Hines Ward, or Troy Polamalu. Sure, Owens talks a lot, but he doesn't have the other problems like Randy Moss leaving the field before the end of a game or Ricky Williams getting caught on drugs and abandoning his team. Owens committed one of the unpardonable sins in football: he criticized the great African-American quarterback.

I think Lost is a great show. It is the second best network show on television. I would put Arrested Development ahead of it because I think it has reinvented the sitcom.

It started very slowly this year. The second episode of this season was their worst yet. Nothing happened in the present or the flashbacks. If you are going to introduce a shark, you need it to do something. I'm not saying it has to eat anybody, but it has to meance the other characters. Neither Michael nor Sawye seemed particularly frightened by the shark and even left their legs dangle in the water.

After that, the episodes have improved and it has returned to its greatness. I think the last episode's final minutes were brilliantly staged. If I hadn't accidently read some spoilers, it would have been very shocking.

I don't like many sitcoms. The only two I watch on a regular basis are Arrested Development and Scrubs. Arrested Development is the best show on television right now and one of the best sitcoms ever. There are several big belly laughs in every episode while most sitcoms are lucky if they have a couple of chuckles every other episode. The characters are all funny and unique.

I wouldn't take this too seriously. I've been in Christian circles all my life and have never heard of this Cory Parella guy. The guy should not blame his obsession with Star Wars on the movies. There is a root cause that he should find or he might have trouble later in life.

I remember when I was in high school and we used to listen to heavy metal. There was a tape called Hell's Belles about the evils of heavy metal music. All the adults were fixated on it and made us watch it. It was the silliest thing because there were very few examples of bands that I actually listened to. Groups like Metallica have positive messages in their music just like the message of Star Wars is a positive one.

The worst thing about this is that the guy is charging $34.99 for this. If his message is so important, he should be traveling to churches for free rather than trying to fleece overly concerned parents. I hope and pray this guy doesn't sell any of these videos.

I'm hoping the Patriots defense can shut down Randy Moss for this game. He can be great the rest of the year since I have Kerry Collins on my fantasy team, but my opponent this week has Moss.
