As everyone's already said, it's not. I've learned a wealth of minute Star Wars details from the Star Wars CCG. Each card has lore text, including bits on the most unimportant characters. Some Imperial officer, it seems, hasn't had a date in years. Hmmmm...not sure if that's good to know or not.

What's the name of EP3 gonna be?
Time
Yuck, I hate the title 'Attack of the Clones'. It was completely unoriginal, and completely obvious. I feel 'Birth of the Empire' carries the same obvious feel to it. In Ep II, it was pretty safe to say the Clone Wars were going to be pictured, just like it's obvious that Episode III will depict the rise of the Empire. I actually liked the title 'The Phantom Menace'. It says something about the movie, without saying too much, just like the original trilogy titles did.
Don't get me wrong, 'Birth of the Empire' is far better than 'Attack of the Clones' ever was, but if I had my say (which I don't ), I'd go with 'The Creeping Fear.' When it was leaked, it had the feeling about it of the older titles, to me, anyway.

BOYCOTT (the 2004 OT SE DVD release)

I'm going bootleg myself, but not off of e-bay. There's a huge topic under General Star Wars Discussion here on the site that takes forever to wade through, but is the most informative place I know of (and unfortunately, that's not saying a lot :-) ) regarding bootlegs. This is definitely one of those purchases that you want to do your homework on before buying. When the September release comes, I'll borrow ROTJ and the bonus disc off of a friend. I mainly just want to yell obscenities at George Lucas as I see how he's butchering Jedi for this new release, and I wouldn't mind seeing the two-and-a-half hour documentary on the bonus disc, but that's all I'm interested in.

What is wrong with Return of the Jedi?

I don't care what's said about the Ewoks, but they are a much better creation than the Gungans IMHO. This is definitely one of my favorite movies out there.

1. ROTJ
2. SW
3. ESB
4. AOTC
5. TPM

I agree. ROTJ is my all-time favorite as well. I love the sense of desparation in it, the climactic showdown between good and evil, etc. The piece of music that plays during that final clash between Luke and Vader (the one where Luke almost slides to the dark side) never fails to haunt me every time I hear it. Also, I argue to anyone who's willing to listen that ROTJ had the best lightsaber duels of the entire saga.

Stupidest Prequal complaints
Time
It's not impossible for the CG to blend in with everything else, but it would have to be damnably difficult. Troy and the Lord of the Rings movies had some of the least oppressive CG that I've ever seen. You knew that the tens of thousands of soldiers were fake, but they added so much to the film and didn't act like they didn't belong. As for Attack of the Clones, there was always something cartoonish to me about the Geonosis battle, though I didn't know the extent of the CGI until George Lucas bragged in his DVD commentary about how he only had six clone trooper uniforms made for the movie. That doesn't seem like something to boast about, in my opinion.
CG can be a useful tool, but it can also be a hindrance. Filmmakers can learn to rely upon it too much, and it completely distracts from the story when that happens.

As for stupidest prequel complaint: it would have to be 'God, Jar-Jar! What the f*** was Lucas thinking?' Though many would disagree (and that's totally okay with me), I actually don't mind Jar-Jar, for my part. But that's just me.

I've gotten some off of the Blue Harvest website. They're obviously not great quality, but they have the Bigg's scene on Tatooine, the ANH Jabba scene without the CG Jabba (just a Scotsman in fur), and some others. They also have a really crappy copy of the Star Wars Holiday Special.

BOYCOTT (the 2004 OT SE DVD release)

I know there's probably not a chance in the world that the originals will be on DVD, but I've decided to boycott anyway. I was aware of the changes between the originals and Special Editions for sometime, but since the only versions available in stores at the time I finally bought the trilogy were the SEs, I've watched them ever since, except for once the DVD announcement came out and I decided to rent the originals, since I hadn't seen them in years. They are more tightly constructed, and more enjoyable without the added CG, which did nothing but distract (I feel Lucas's use of CG in the SEs was just his way of showing off what he could do). In fact, the only change I really preferred was the replacement of the 'Yub Yub' at the end of ROTJ (just the music, not the adding in of the celebrations on Bespin, Tatooine, and Coruscant -- which is funny, because there was no Coruscant until Timothy Zahn's Thrawn Trilogy). I'll take 'Yub Yub,' though, any day to Hayden Christensen replacing Sebastian Shaw. Anyway, now I've signed the petition, told my friends I have no intent on buying the DVDs, and found by lurking around these boards the past few days, that I prefer them compared to TheForce.net's. I'll get the originals...somehow....
