Hey, did any of you read the newsbit on IMDb this morning about Kate Beckinsale and how one of the reasons she did Van Helsing was to prove that she can be sexy? Apparently, before she did Underworld, when her now-husband was trying to convince studio execs to cast her in the role, they said she can't be viewed as sexy because she's too "motherly". WTF is that? Am I the only one who thinks Beckinsale is a sexy woman? So then she did Van Helsing to further prove her ability to be "sexy". Too bad she had to do it in such a bad movie. But still and all the same.

You're not the only one, and I read the article today and wondered how anyone in their right minds could have gotten that image of Beckinsale.

Must have pictures...Must have pictures...

*Google Search in Progress*

I just have to say that I hated Underworld but loved Kate Beckinsale. *Sigh*

I've bought both versions of each movie...I thought I could live without the Extended Editions, but I finally realized that I'm too big of a fan to not have the extra footage (and while the bonus features are immense and amazing, the only reason I bought the Extended Editions was because of all of the new scenes). Which reminds me, I need to preorder ROTK so it'll be waiting for me when I get home for Christmas break (would buy it the day it comes out, but I won't have time to watch it, so what's the point? And besides, I'll have take a road trip to get it since my college is in an isolated town of 3,000).

What? Mentioning Jennifer Garner on the Beautiful Women thread without posting a picture? Why are you torturing us?

Actually, though I really find Garner attractive, anytime I've seen her in the past three weeks has only served to remind me of my ex-girlfriend. She's an Alias fanatic and we watched Alias fairly often. Alias is a good show, too, and even that's ruined for me. Damn!

When I played through the Dark Side the first time I played, I played really quickly and never found HK-47, so I was curious: does he get really excited if you cross to the Dark Side? It would seem that, the more vicious you are, the more you'd earn his support. I can't wait to try a Dark Side run-through again; the giddiness I felt when I caused those two families to wipe each other out on Dantooine is difficult to describe. Not that I'm a twisted individual or anything, but it was just fun to play with their minds, albeit sad at the same time.

Is it wrong to name your kids after a Star Wars character?

I read an article in my set of American Heritage History of the United States books once about a socialist organizer in the early 20th century who named his kid Legal Tender. So I guess it's not such a new thing after all. I wish I could remember what the guy's name was...was it Jacob Cox? Actually, I think it was...damn, the things that your memory will recall from nowhere.

Not necessarily anti-Carth...he just frustrates the hell out of me. He carries on and on and on and the game won't give me the responses I would say to him in real life...you know, you want to make him realise that you're not going to betray him, and he says, 'Yeah, you're right,' but then goes right back into how he doesn't want to be betrayed again. It's funny, so long as you're not playing the game.

I think Bossk is right, most people won't make the connection, and so as long as you don't go overboard, you should be able to keep the actual spellings, which means that Jacen and Jaina and even Bastila could be perfectly fine names for children. Keep in mind that there are a growing number of bizarre names springing up these years (and a lot of them are androgynous, to make matters worse). We live in an age that's moved beyond John and Mary. I've even heard of kids name Montana and Dakota, and I'd give a child a Star Wars name far, far before I'd name a child one of those names.

Sounds roughly familiar...I suggested that they weren't unlike everybody else and they became pissed so I took my chance to kill them all without getting Dark Side points...and I got the Krayt dragon pearl back, which does wonders for my lightsaber. And the whole time I was killing the Tuskens, I found I kept quoting Anakin from AOTC...I even named my save file 'I hate them!'

How'd he get badly damaged?

Maybe he fell into a lava pit.

Is it worth playing on? I'm getting board of walking from door to door!

Keep playing, Hot Rod! The first six to ten hours or so aren't the best, because they're slow and you don't have a lightsaber, but there is a kick ass revelation that I probably should've expected but didn't because I got so engrossed in the storyline. Don't let Carth ruin your gaming experience, either.

You forgot that pedestrians don't tend to perpetually run into walls anymore and that you can finally swim. It's an amazing game on all levels, except that I get the feeling it'll take me forever to unlock the entire map, which is so far the only negative. I'm ready to run into the desert and grab a katana, but when I made landfall with a boat, I got that stupid four-star wanted level and was lucky to survive to make it back to my save point.

Ric, you definitely get my vote for most disturbed person I've met on the internet all year.

Also, Jesus died 2000 years ago, but "been dead" implies no ressurection. Even if He was dead, we still celebrate the births of Martin Luther King, George Washington, and Abraham Lincoln....

Why, I have no idea.

Chaltab, are you a fellow Chrisitan?

Ric, I can sympathise with some of what you say. Christmas has gotten completely bloated and commercialised. It's sad, really. And it can be such a depressing time. My girlfriend broke up with me three weeks ago, and while I was still madly in love with her, she no longer thought she was in love with me. She gave me the 'you're a nice guy' bit, and it was a huge blow. She is the first girl/woman I've ever loved, and I was looking forward to spending this holiday season in love, but alas, it was not meant to be. And even though I was around family for Thanksgiving, I still felt so very lonely. So yes, I understand where you're coming from, as far as the loneliness factor comes in.
