I think Kev is highly different from someone like Jimbo. Kev does insult people but usually when he's already embroiled in a fight, rather than just insulting people for no apparent reason (usually). His main problem (but it's not only his) is all the spam-like posts. And there is a lot of Lucas bashing as well, but I can't really see that as a ban-worthy problem. A lot of the same LucASS-based insults without backing them up get slightly irritating, and, even though it's probably not beneficial to the cause, there's essentially nothing wrong with it. But he can make good contributions when he wants to. I've personally never had a problem with him at all. These are all just some observations. It's up to you, but those are just my thoughts.

If it works out like Bossk says, and, if Jay's willing, I think those of us that care should be able to send in a request to Jay to have our count hardcoded back in and supply him with our count up to the point. That way, he won't have to make arbitrary decisions about what post count is high enough and who is a frequent enough poster while people who don't post anymore or don't care about count can just be punted back to the zero. Of course, the main problem with that plan is that it would be simple for someone to lie about how many posts he/she has.

Well, Bossk, think about it this way. Are they really lucky? They spent so much time acting like they had the hots for one another that they ended up developing really brother/sister relationships off the set, thereby nullifying any chance of a relationship. Plus, with the whole sibling thing established, you could say that the Savage brothers had to kiss their sisters every week! Kinda makes you think, doesn't it?

^ That's probably a more legitimate reason as to why I don't like the EEs because it seems like the theatrical versions would be the "tighter" films as greencapt said, and that the EEs were just made for fan service. "Let's just throw in some more scenes so people who read the books will feel better." That's what it seems like to me, anyway. I have no problem with "fan-gravy" either. Far from it. But it's just my opinion that stuff like that should be put in deleted scenes categories. For two reasons. 1. I love watching deleted scenes because I can't help smiling and telling myself that I'm getting secret special information that casual viewers who don't go through extras won't know. 2. No need to have more excuses for a special edition. I don't like Star Wars having a special edition, so why would I want LOTR to have one? ^_^

Anyway, that's just my opinion, and you guys are free to love on your EEs. Doesn't bother me if my views don't bother you.

Did George actually have an "original vision?"

I wasn't suggesting that people would actually emulate that commercial, and I doubt anyone has. I'm just saying it's incredible the lengths the marketing people will go to to make you buy something. Seriously, though, if you think about it, it's kind of like telling kids they should be like Scarface or Jack Nicholson from The Shining. I doubt that would go over very well, would it?

Yeah, I agree. I always liked the Vader/Tarkin relationship. With the Emperor/Vader, Emperor was clearly the man in the charge via political power and mystical power. The Vader/Tarkin relationship was really interesting in that Vader had more real power and also military power, but Tarkin had beauracracy on his side, and he was able to get Vader to listen to him and wasn't scared of him. He used the tools he had to his disposal, so while he wasn't as physically powerful as Vader, he could do what he pleased. Sort of like a, "When you're under my roof..." mentality.

I don't mean that. I mean the regular release, the special release, the different box sets, the ultimate box sets, the leatherbound-looking box sets... just too many different ways to buy.

To be honest, I think the extended versions were what turned me off to Lord of the Rings. I was only casually into it to begin with, but I've seen so many different versions and packagings and box sets that I just decided to forget it. And that's really the problem with most movies nowadays is that there are all these "UNRATED!" or "EXTENDED!" versions. Damnit! I just want to buy a movie! I don't want to have to choose door number one or door number two! At least George Lucas waited 20 years before he started throwing out special editions.
