No Padme (we might as well chuck in Jar Jar as with Padme not force trained)

Right, that's why I said Qui-Gon would appear after Luke and Leia rejoin the party. And with Padme, can everyone see where I'm coming from with that?

I was reading on another thread Neeson wants nothing to do with LFL so only way is if Lucas uses his computers, and that be ominious for the execution and quality of the ghost effect.

Despite the Hayden ghost being done without his permission, isn't it technically illegal for him to do that? Crispin Glover sued and won over the use of his image in Back to the Future Part II, and the laws were changed to keep those things from being done without the actors' permission. If that extends to this, then Liam is safe.

Post count: soon to be made irrelevant.
Time
I'm glad that the post count will still be available in the profile because I enjoy being able to keep track of it as well. Part of me likes the idea because those AWK posts (and those of people in the past too) have really been getting irritating, and I hate the idea of posting for the sake of posting. But for those of us who don't abuse the system (and I know it's arguable, but I'd like to think I'm one who posts responsibly at least a vast majority of the time), it seems a little bit unfair to remove all relevance to post count because I always liked the post count heirarchy system, and I was really looking forward to reaching Jedi Knight in a couple months. To those of us who don't abuse it, reaching a new level is a very enjoyable achievement and nice reward. I know I've posted more on this board than I have on any other message board.

So I'm torn. I know it's a good idea, but for the most part I like the way things are now, even though it does irritate to me to no end the means people will go to to cheat the system. I haven't seen it in action, so I know I'm jumping the gun on forming opinion, but user nominations just sounds a little bit too arbitrary not to mention time-consuming. Maybe I'm totally off the mark with where you're going with this idea, though.

So I like the post count system, but part of me wants you to stick it the spammers. I'm just not sure. Okay, I'm ashamed to admit it, but I'd rather you keep it the old way.

Brosnan is no longer Bond, Daniel Craig is now Bond.

But doesn't "All Your Hanks" sound more like "All Your Base" than "All Your Hank"? Besides, the whole allure of the All Your Base craze (which was soooo three years ago, mind you) was that the grammar, spelling, etc. was supposed to atrocious? Why start adhering to rules all of a sudden?

Episode I Digital Yoda Images!!!!
Time
I think the original models of the trilogy have aged really well. I can still watch the Star Destroyer chasing the Tantive IV at the very beginning of Star Wars and still be in complete disbelief. When Vader's Imperial Shuttle approaches the Death Star II in Jedi, I am completely in that world. REAL models hold up better than CG models. I'm not saying that every special effect in the OT was completely flawless (eg. the rancor and the translucent snowspeeder cockpit*). But in the PT, I'll more likely be thinking, "Oh, look at that nice-looking computer ship." CG is a very very important tool in today's film making. I will not deny that. But in moderation! Don't drown it in computer animation. I feel that it should only be used when it is impossible or infeasible to accomplish a special effect any other way. And that's not the way that Lucas used it in the prequels. So using a CG Yoda, Adam, when a perfectly good puppet Yoda already exists is just completely inane.

*I still prefer the rancor with the matte lines and the translucent cockpit to the cleaned-up versions. Has anybody with pan-and-scan (forgive me, I was young and didn't know better at the time!) ever noticed that, in the original version, the edge of the cockpit isn't even in the frame? But in the special edition, they made sure to pan the camera a wee bit farther to the left just to make sure you noticed that they fixed that sucker!!!

Has anyone now second guessed the prequels
Time
You hit the nail on the head.

I'd have to say too that, overall, they weren't worth it, because they inspired George to change the originals twice. The first time was a test run to see if CG ships could work in The Phantom Menace, so he redid a lot of the ships in the original movies, especially Star Wars. The second time was last year. He changed things in order to make them fit more with the prequels. Most people, including myself, have already said this before. The idiot should have made the prequels to fit the specifications he laid out for it in the OT, not gone back and covered his tracks (mistakes) by changing his older movies to match his newer ones. But now that the mistakes have been made, he should just accept it and move on with life rather than trying so hard to fit his square peg (PT) into the round hole (OT).

I do enjoy the prequels to an extent, though. More so back then than I do now. I mean, I can get some entertainment value out of them. I enjoyed Attack of the Clones more because it seemed to start relating more back to the story we'd heard before of Clone Wars and Imperial origins. The Phantom Menace just seemed so out there by comparison that you had to wonder why it was there to begin with. Unfortunately, Attack of the Clones also began George's obsession with CG. I mean, there was a lot of it in Phantom Menace, don't get me wrong. But not every shot was filmed on blue screen like in the following two movies. They actually used some real sets. Imagine that. And that did a lot to take me out of it and come to the opinion that Lucas has become a pretty shoddy filmmaker.

So I agree with redbaron.

Too much CG.
Bad continuity that makes him feel he has to go back and change the OT to fix it.
Already under the impression that his prequels have to be changed!

So even though I enjoy them some, it doesn't really balance out, and I think we would have been better off without them.

BEAUTIFUL WOMEN NEW RULES IN FIRST POST (NSFW) UPDATED RULES
Time
You know, I hate to admit it, and I'll probably get flamed for it, but I don't see any problem with Adamwankenobi's posting of younger Natalie Portman pics. Wait! Read me out! Now there is a difference between beautiful and sexually arousing. And to each his own with that. Granted that almost every other picture that's been posted so far has been for the latter purpose, it might have been a little inapprorpriate for the purposes of this thread. Given that Adam probably isn't too much older than Natalie Portman was in those pics, is it that wrong that he might like them? Most importantly, the images are completely clean, in my opinion. They aren't pictures of a provocative or pornographic nature. If they were, then believe me, I'd be the first person to sound the alarm. That said, I don't think that continuing to post pictures of young girls is going to do much good for the future of this thread, and it's probably a good idea not to get in a habit of doing so.

Alright, I've said my piece.

Plus, the scene now makes less sense, since Shaw is still Anakin earlier in the movie. I assume the next Extra Special Ultimate Seriously It's the Last Time Edition will have Hayden in bad grayish recreation makeup as Vader sans helmet. It's also stupid because there's ol' Alec Guinness right next to him. The whole "redeemed" ghost thing is just another excuse for more changes.

Might as well insert the back of Hayden's head in Empire in that scene where his helmet is off...
