I know exactly what you mean. When my friends introduced me to Firefly less than a week ago, I always simply assumed that it was a long-running, successful series because there was a movie and was completely taken aback when I was told that there were only a handful of episodes three years ago before it was cancelled.

Ooh, you're right. I'd totally forgotten about that. It was one of my favorite parts of the movie when I found out they'd no longer exist. But maybe the reason he did it was...

It's whatever versions Lucas allows them to show. To this day, he still prevents people from publicly displaying privately held copies of the pre-SE Star Wars.

Wow, didn't know Lucas was that anal.

Of course he is. I bet I could pull out my Faces boxset and bring over about five friends to watch them. And then suddenly, George would run in and throw a lawsuit at me for ruining his vision, a crime which I'm sure exists in his world.

Nah... if a forum gains a reputation as an authoritarian cybersociety by constantly banning people, the usership drops through the floor. Better to eliminate the reason for someone wanting to spam. Then, not only do you avoid Nazi-like descriptions of your forum, but you gain respect for having a community that offers good information and insight without much BS fluff.

I really don't think that banning people who don't know how to behave will make us seem like Nazis. I for one don't care if we have thousands of people posting here. I'd rather be around a select few good posters who have a lot of informed opinions to share than a boost in membership constituting mainly of trigger-happy trolls. So I agree with Chaltab.

Am I the only person who thought that Scrappy wasn't so bad?

Well, I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but since you're asking...

I knew someone was going to go there. ^_~

And, starkiller, about young Freddie in A Pup Named Scooby-Doo, I have to agree with you. I admit that I found him funny at times, but he in no way resembles any type of Fred we see later in life, so we're left scratching our heads as to not only where does his adult intelligence come from but why the other kids let this idiot boss them around!

Can you imagine Han fighting Luke, that is what the duel in ROTS should have felt like.

In the PT, I think he felt the same way. I will make something good, but I am not going the extra mile to make it great, because in the end Star Wars is going to make a boat load of money.

Now this is my opinion, but definitely Lucas hasn't had the hunger to make a great Star Wars film in 25 years, oh well.

Along with all the other stuff I contend with regards to the PT, I honestly believe that if GL had a LOT less money to play with, then it would likely have been awesome. When someone is given parameters and limitations and they strive to create something great, they squander all the creative possibilities within those limitations.

Yeah, that theory has been proposed a lot of times, and it's one I hold strongly to. Limitations encourage creativity, which is obvious from at least the first two movies. They were inventing stuff, having to circumvent stuff, and trying desperately to stay in budget, and it all worked out great.

And like Bungle, I like the overall story of the prequels about the political problems and coups and wars. It's all very interesting. I actually prefer to simply sumarize the prequels in my mind. Because when you add in the details, like specific things about characters and delivery, that's when everything goes to hell. It's all about the details.

Am I the only person who thought that Scrappy wasn't so bad? I mean, seriously, there's only so many times a bitter lab employee can put on a mask and scare the kids. Scrappy at least opened the world up to real paranormal worlds once the logics (Fred, Daphne, and Velma) were gone, and even once Daphne came back. I was a pretty big fan of The Thirteen Ghosts of Scooby Doo. It had more of a storyline, and Vincent Price kicked so much ass. Don't get me wrong. I loved the original concept too, but I really have no problem with Scrappy.

That said, I thought the reasoning behind the hatred was extremely funny! As far as the thing about the original cast being smart to run away while Scrappy was retarded... well, they should realize by now that the evil goblin or the creeper or the ghost of Sherlock Holmes is a guy in a mask by now, so I think they're pretty stupid for running, actually.

By the way, post #800!
