The all about Harry Potter thread
Time
Since you follow from Harry's point of view almost exclusively throughout all the books, I'd be hard-pressed not to say him. But besides Harry, I'm quite fond of Neville Longbottom and Cedric Diggory. Neville's a very interesting and sympathetic character in his own right before (since you're reading Order for the first time, sean, I suggest you not read this next part too closely) you find out that the prophecy could have just as easily been about him (okay, we're safe now). And Cedric, I can't explain why I liked him. I'm sure the martyr factor figures into it a lot, but I liked him the first time I read the book, which is why his death came as such a blow to me. I like the fact how his public persona of a pretty-boy champion was built up by those around him, while the real Cedric was much more modest and kind.

Empire '97 SE

Empire's SE definitely is the least vile of the three. I didn't mind seeing the wampa too much, except that the continuity between the original puppet and the guy in the suit isn't quite there. It makes me wonder exactly why they couldn't have done that in 1980. Could a wampa suit have been that hard/costly to produce? But, yes, not seeing it was pretty suspenseful, but it doesn't lose much by seeing him.

Ooh, yeah, totally remember that, and totally hated it. I don't think I ever got past the lava monster boss inside the sandcrawler.

The Things We Hate And Love Thread .

But that's the beauty of it. It's not the actual events that are supposed to be realistic but the feelings conveyed. Plus, they're just fun. I just closed a semi-musical tonight, and it was the most fun I've ever had working on a show. Besides, didn't you ever see that episode of Rocko's Modern Life where everyone in O-Town did their Spring Cleaning musical, and Rocko wonders how everyone knows the words except him. Apparently, he missed the rehearsals. I love that episode.

:music: He doesn't know the words! :/music:

redeeming lucas

Wow, not more than an hour ago, I was having lunch with my girlfriend and explaining (and complaining) to her how new releases of The Chronicles of Narnia changed the numerical order to chronological. Not trying to fuel this debate (?) anymore (it doesn't need my help, obviously), but I think it's an interesting coincidence.

gaffer tape you aged from 13 to 19 watching the prequels, just imagine if they had been good you couldve really celebrated that time in your life even more. what a waste of time lucas made us all go on

Just to add a little perspective here: The movies may not be appreciated by many here (and I have problems with TPM and AOTC just like a lot of you) but if the years between 13 and 19 seriously hinged on whether 3 movies were good or not, chances are there wasn't going to be that much celebrating in your life in the first place Lucas didn't MAKE you slave your adolescence to the prequel trilogy. and I'm sure Gaffer managed to enjoy life whether or not there were three good star wars movies as he matured into adulthood.

Eh, life was okay. ^_~
