What If Ian Had Said No To Appearing In Empire Strikes Back?

No, in yours he just said he was excited about it, and you somehow interpreted that to mean he knew about it in advance.

And I'm curious, Number 20, how could he have done that scene without Ian and make it as close to Ian as he wanted?

This isn't exactly a post ranking thing, but I just wanted to mention that I finally raised my daily post average to 6.00. Back in the summer it was higher than this, but I let it slip below that since I got back to school. Now I'm on the rise! I'll be back in a few posts to announce... well, I won't say it now.

Best Animated Feature Oscar Noms: Who should win?

I'm not saying that it's a new form of animation, because you're right, it's not. I'm simply saying that traditional or conventional animation generally refers to hand-drawn, or so I've heard.

Does GL ever explain why...
Time
I wasn't too fond of the comentaries, except from Kershner, since he was so into it. But they are better than the ones on the prequels. I don't think they were necessarily recorded before the new changes. These changes weren't highly publicized like the ones in '97. The box tries to pass them off as the original trilogy, and I don't believe there was ever an official statement saying there were any changes. I think this whole operation was very covert, so it makes sense to me that they wouldn't address it on the commentary, just to make the uninformed to blindly follow him, and to piss off people like me.

New forum software status - updated 1/4/2006
Time
Well, it's not really especially relevent with the new software coming up, but it's something that's amused/bugged me since I came here. I often check to see which members are on the boards, and the search function has a button for each letter of the alphabet, then "All", and then "Other." My question is, what could "Other" possibly refer to? I never get any results back when I click it, and I can't think of what members could possibly fit under that category, unless some user names start with a number. Hmm, I guess that could be it. Well, I guess explaining it has caused me to reach my own conclusion, unless it could mean something else. Anyway, I was just wondering if it could be a glitch or oversight or something.

I'm not saying I've read his contract, either. It's possible it might be in there, but it just seems unlikely. And, Adam, I'm very aware that he is pleased. This is simply a hypothetical situation.

But branching from that topic, if Hayden had wanted to, and I already know he was thrilled too, Adam, couldn't he have sued George for using his likeness without his permission in Return of the Jedi?

Best Animated Feature Oscar Noms: Who should win?
Time
I voted for Corpse Bride, but it was a tossup between that and W&G. I, however, am pissed that Animated Features is its own separate category in the first place. A movie's a movie, they're just using different mediums to tell stories. And I agree with Nanner. If ROTS isn't a cartoon, I don't know what is! Nowadays, an animated feature will never have the honor that Beauty and the Beast did by being able to be nominated for Best Picture because they're shunted off into their own category now. Stupid academy...

I remember when I was a lurker, over a year ago. I kinda wish I'd signed up then, so I wouldn't be lumped with that huge influx of people who joined right around the time Revenge of the Sith came out, most of whom were brief flames only to be extinguished. But even though Sith was my impetus for finally joining, I guess I don't want to be lumped in with the preconception that the hype of the movie sparked my Star Wars interest.

You and I appear to have joined around the same time. How did you come across this site? I believe I found it when I first found out about MagnoliaFan's "Balance of the Force" edit, and I joined the site so I could ask questions about where to find it.

Then I got hooked.

Anyone else care to share their story of how they came across OT.com?

I have my full story posted over at the new thread, but, in a nutshell, my frantic, angry searching for information on the 2004 DVD changes brought me here.

How Did You Find OT.com?
Time
In the hype of the 2004 DVDs, I started doing some Internet researching, finding out, to my horror, that the DVDs I'd preordered featured even more changes. And in my searching, I found this site and immediately signed the petition. I lurked for about a month or so before ceasing coming here. It would be another nine months or so before I actually signed up.
