Well, that's fair. If you want to keep your youth, turn evil at 19. Makes it all better.

But someone posted an interview from Rolling Stone in 1977 where Lucas said he wanted to have several Star Wars movies, each one directed by a different director to bring his own perspective to the story, a la a kind of James Bond series. So the building up the company excuse is obviously bullshit.

But it's called Snakes on a Plane! The idiotic title alone was enough to keep me from wanting to see it. And that horrible trailer just gave me a legitimate reason not to like it. It's pathetic. The snakes look horribly fake, and that first line! "Enough is enough. I'm tired of these snakes," made me want to wet myself from laughing. It almost seems like a big joke! This can't be a serious movie.

Yeah, that's pretty much how I was going to respond. Fantasy has its own set of rules. And being that it's fiction, the rules of its mythical elements have to be consistent and simple to understand, or you risk losing your audience and having hundreds of threads like these devoted to picking apart a major plot point, which shouldn't be this fuzzy.

Well, to be honest, since I wasn't really looking it for it so much after I found one, and since I didn't know it existed before I found it, I might be wrong in saying that. But I do remember that, in '95, Princess Leia seemed pretty rare, as it took me months to find a store that had her, and I don't have that stigma attached to the Vader.
