I think he should since it's true. It's always good to be completely open and honest with your life partner rather than keeping things bottled up inside. Whether or not she'd be pleased, Dayv has her welfare and that of his kids in his hands. I hope this setback will have the silver lining you think it will, Dayv. Best of luck.

Jedi Master
Time
I was thinking about this over the weekend but forgot to post it. Is it just me or were you pissed when Obi-Wan was shown as, not only a Jedi Master in Revenge of the Sith but also on the Jedi Council? When did Ben ever say he'd been a Master? He said he was once a Jedi Knight, the same as Luke's father. And then, in Empire, when Ben appears to Luke and gives his immortal, "You will go to the Dagobah system. There you will learn from Yoda, the Jedi Master who instructed me," I know I was filled with such awe. A Jedi Master. The one who taught Obi-Wan. Master was the next step. It was something we'd never seen before. Obi-Wan was just a flunkie warrior in comparison. But in the prequels, it's suddenly "revealed" that Obi-Wan was practically Yoda's second-in-command once Mace bit it. And he was a Master?! It just cheapens Master to me. I mean, even Anakin made it on the council and only a step away from Master.

Ditto. Well, except when it's too cold to wear shorts. And socks?! What's up with that? I hate socks!

EDIT: Heh, I didn't realize what thread I'd posted in, so I said to myself, "Hmm, I should go and find the Things That We Hate thread to post that I hate socks. But it seems I already have. Socks? They should be called Oppressive Foot Garments. I'm all in favor of foot liberation!

MSN's "Do nice guys always finish last?"
Time
I read HLF's posts, and it just makes me think how, in those situations, men are in a game that was made up by women and it's only the creators of the game who know the rules. I don't think that relationships should be a chasing thing. Love is one of the most precious and rare commodities, and people act so stupid waiting for signals and acting coy and not being honest with their feelings, preferring to "hook up" rather than go for something important. In my opinion, romantic relationships should spawn from friendships. Not some random hot girl you see across the street or in a bar or a club. Get to know someone, for crying out loud! Then you won't have to play those stupid games. You'll already have the basis for a sound relationship. Of course, girls seem to have that problem of not being able to develop feelings for friends. The best friend guy becomes the shoulder to cry on and the receptive ear for stories about her guy problems. The guy deludes himself into thinking that maybe one day she'll see him for the perfect guy for her that he knows he is. But she never does, and everything crashes and burns in a fiery ball. Yeah, I've been there in the past, and, yeah, I'm bitter. But that risk aside, it really is the safest way for a good relationship to bloom.

You know what, ric's right. Girls just make this too complicated by making really stupid choices. I'm so glad I don't have to worry about that kind of crap anymore.
