Star Wars Original Trilogy had 'it', but 'it' is hard to explain.
Time
Wait a minute... Star Wars isn't really sci-fi; it's space fantasy!

Hehe, sorry. I couldn't resist. But you make some valid points. Although he did have help on the script, is 30% really a fair judgement? I'm not sure myself. I know you're looking for someone to back it up, but I obviously can't do it. I know at least the actors credit George for some of their least-favorite lines. I'd love to know whether or not that's true.

Saved by the Bell saved!
Time
The worst idea ever? Worse than the new Revenge of the Nerds? Possibly. "Saved from cancellation"? This isn't Family Guy. The last show aired nearly ten years ago! The corpse has rotted away. There's nothing to save! And I couldn't see Dustin Diamond possibly wanting to reprise the Screech role again. He's moved on and so has the rest. I hope this is a joke.

And what the hell is wrong with Cartoon Network lately airing all these non-cartoon shows?! Hasn't the network gotten bad enough lately? Do they have to destroy Adult Swim too?

Nintendo Wii
Time
Believe me, you'll be calling it Wii eventually. I've never seen any game generation hang onto a preproduction title like that. No one ever put up a fuss when Nintendo stopped calling the GameCube Dolphin, but now everyone's acting surprised that Revolution wasn't going to be the actual name of the console.

Super Mario Super Show and Captain N
Time
You're talking about the change from The Super Mario Bros. Super Show to Club Mario, which I vaguely remember. But all that was was replacing the live action with that new stuff while keeping the same cartoons. I don't think any original cartoon episodes were made under that banner. And then the next season, they returned with The Adventures of Super Mario Bros. 3 (my favorite series but one that I have a sad lack of episodes in my collection) with no live-action parts and Lou Albano and Danny Wells being replaced by Walker Boone and Tony Rosato as the voices of Mario and Luigi, a casting change that continued in the last season of the show, Super Mario World.

Just Got FF VII: Advent Children!
Time
Being so busy, I forgot that this had even come out yet in the states, but as soon as I saw it, I had to have it. Quite thrilling. Finally, a movie that actually manages to translate RPG-style fighting into the real world. And hearing all the orchestrated remixes of Uematsu's work was amazing. They even managed to work in the victory fanfare at one point, very humorously. Amazing story, amazing fighting. Reno and Rude shone. My only gripe is that it occasionally seemed like a cell phone advertisement what with the prevalence of almost every character having one. Vincent in particular seemed to have an obsessed with cell phones, as he mentioned it in his "battle cry," and in the special feature, "Remembrance of Final Fantasy VII" (also really awesome) he says that Yuffie has no right to call his phone.

So, anybody else seen it yet?

Rankings
Time
Well, I suppose that if you follow the Zahn books, the next rank could be Jedi Spirit Whose Time Is Up and Has Passed to the Other Side. A bit wordy, though. Or, to help spread things out a bit more, you could have a rank in between Jedi Council Member and Jedi Spirit known as Dead Jedi, for those who have not yet mastered the technique yet.

Beyond hope...
Time
I don't see how you can possibly consider Star Wars to be boring or slow. It starts out with a bang with a violent shoot out. The only time it ever slows down is with the droids. Then there's death and destruction, suspense, the lightspeed jump... I want to stop right here at that lightspeed jump and comment on how this scene is really special (and I've never thought about it before now) because it's able to maintain a "chase" suspense mentality with very few exterior ship shots or insane dogfighting prowess. It does this by keeping you focused on the volatile combination of the characters and their fear of getting out along with the suspenseful music. It's never been lacking in any way. Then you have the most intense part of the movie, the Death Star, filled with gunfights, near-death situations, legions of troops, chasm-jumping. The lightsaber fight isn't something to write home about compared to its successors, but I never thought of it as boring until I read posts on message boards. It's rough and gritty rather than acrobatic with seizure-inducing spinning blades. It doesn't warrant the criticism it's received from fans nor the rationalizing and excuses it's received from George. Then there's the escape scene with the gunning down the TIEs. Awesome scene. And then it goes straight into the awesome trench battle, which didn't need any alterations to be exciting! What's slow about Star Wars?!
