I honestly doubt that the current crawl will be selectable on Disc 2. After all, you can see that one Disc 1, so if they were going for that route, they might as well just have a complete branching OOT/SE disc, which a lot of people have thought is a good idea anyway.

I'd been feeling that way too until I got my laserdisc rips the other day. Now suddenly Star Wars is fun again, and I don't think anymore about the crap that Lucas has pulled all this time.

Yeah, I'm not too much older than you, Chaltab. I'm 20. My mom had me when she was 41. It was always believed that she couldn't have children, so I sorta came out of nowhere at a weird time in life.

Wow. It's amazing to think that she was widowed in 1949! I mean, she was already 60 then. That's already what we'd consider to be getting old, and then she had another 50 years after that! Amazing!

I've often wondered myself what kind of Two-Face Billy Dee Williams would have made. I have a hard time picturing it, but it definitely would have been worth seeing.

I'm not about to stone anybody. Like I said, I'm not even a Star Trek fan. I just dislike changing and updating movies and TV shows on principle. I mean, I really don't get the reasoning either. If it was necessary for the next generation of fans to have modern effects in order to like it, I wouldn't be posting at this message board right now because I never would have liked the Star Wars Trilogy.

I actually noticed that too. I've always liked how the first movie credited him as Lord Darth Vader. But I didn't think about the change in those terms. I simply liked the fact that he was called that. But to lend credence to your theory, Ben does simply call him Darth, which is never again repeated... anywhere ever!

Yeah, it carries about as much truth as "Lost," like "lost episodes" or "lost levels." Everybody knows that by "lost" they actually mean, "We simply chose not to give it to you until now."

Sorry, but I'm going to have to call you out on that one. Williams's Dent was indeed the D.A. He was not running for mayor at all. In fact, the mayor announced at the beginning of the movie that he had just hired Dent to help stop the increase in crime in Gotham City.

I, for one, am wondering why they bothered showcasing about 20 different pictures of the damn corridor perspective "fix," which really wasn't all that bad to begin with, I never thought. I guess I sort of assumed it ramped up at some point rather than being straight. But I digress. Why they needed to show it 20 times is beyond me.

And I notice even their spin-doctors couldn't say anything positive about the censoring of laser shots to Imperial officers.

I agree. I don't know why people can't just leave things the hell alone. Totally unnecessary. I mean, it's great that it's getting more respect than Star Wars, but that's like saying that such and such a group of people is being treated better than the indentured servants of a violent drunk. I'm not even a Star Trek fan, and I think it's still pretty rotten that they feel the need to update the effects in the first place.

I'm not voting yet. I actually fall into two categories. I'm waiting to buy until I see reviews, and, if I buy them, I plan on sending the SE discs back. Then I'll move the "bonus material" to the Disc 1 slot and put the Faces transfers that andy_k_250 recently generously sent me in the Disc 2 slot.

Yeah, I just saw that. Except for the same complaint about the timing of the Star Wars logo to the rest of the crawl, it seems very much like the original crawl with the appropriate line breaks and everything. So it's the original or at least some work was done to make it look like the original other than just painting away the "Episode IV: A New Hope" stuff. But I love the caption for the Greedo picture:

"The most talked about change of them all: Han Solo's "Yes, I bet you have," is shortened to allow for an exchange of blaster fire in 1997. It was slightly retimed in the 2004 DVD release."

Don't go into a lot of detail, even though they acknowledge that everyone knows what it's about. The nice little spin here to make it sound positive, "to allow for an exchange of blaster fire."

Heh, that's awesome. I'm a little disappointed they substituted Mace for Lando, but I do like the concept of the three Jedi. And I'm glad Luke was in the center seat rather than Vader like everyone else seemed to want.

Yeah, that's another awesome article. I particularly like how Darth Vader isn't touted as the main character. I wonder why...? In fact he's only mentioned once, as the Black Knight, which I thought was kinda cool.
