BACK TO SCHOOL
Time
Heh, it was a joke.

But if it's fifth grade, it might be general education. Actually, when I was in fifth grade, there were three fifth grade teachers, each of them teaching two subjects, and we'd rotate through them throughout the day. 3rd-5th grade was like that, as sort of a precursor to getting individual classes, I suppose.

What did the Prequel Trilogy need?
Time
Aside from the idea that I had, there is no way to put the droids in the PT without giving them some kind of a connection to the characters, which means they had connections to the characters from both sets of movies, which is just a bit of a stretch and almost always forced. And we get things like 3PO being built by Anakin in order to establish that forced connection. And then there's Boba Fett and the Stormtroopers. Yoda and Chewbacca. Anakin and Greedo (thankfully cut). He dropped the ball every time he tried to make connections to the OT, and it's because none of it made any damned sense! He makes the claim that you can't just drop a character into a story for no reason at all, but that's what he seemed intent on doing. Ben, Anakin, Palpatine, Owen, Beru, and Yoda are really the only established characters who had any business being in the prequels the way they ended up being written.

I only saw a little bit of Star Fox Assault, and I thought it looked pretty good. I hated that all the voices had been replaced by guys who sucked, but maybe that's just nostalgia talking. I happen to love the cast of SF64.

"I'm monkey food if I don't leave!" "Thought you could hide from me, eh? Escaping? I don't think so!" "Gee! I've been saved by Fox! How swell!" "Slippy's not such a screwup after all!" "Thanks a lot, Peppy!"

I personally hated the idea of the droids in the PT, but I do know of a way they could have fit where I would have been quite happy with the results. It would have been cool if the droids had been in the PT but never met the major characters. They had their own subplot where they would be able to happen to wander into areas right before or right after the main characters. But they'd never understand each other's motives or even see each other. So the droids could walk into a battle site after the Jedi were done and have their own comments and theories as to what happened. It would become a fun running gag that they'd always just miss the action. Then he could have had the droids in there as an interesting comedic device without having to worry about how it was going to integrate into the existing movies.

Poll: Do You Think the OUT will be Released Again in '07?
Time
I voted No. I'm not saying I don't think the OOT will be gone forever after this release (although I'm thinking it pretty strongly at the moment), but I really don't think it will be in the boxset in any way, shape, or form. Not that I really care, since I wouldn't waste my money on it even if there was a solid gold DVD of the OOT in it. I mean, that would just jack the price up. ^_~

That's because none of them are related to each other.

Some of us were there. We know the truth. We've read the magazine interviews where Lucas said he thought it up years afterwards. He can change the films and lie about it all he wants, but he can't go back and alter the printed words. Too many people remember. Too many people think for themselves.

Ooh, now those are some interviews I would definitely love to read.

It had been hard for me to block those out lately. Maybe I do sound different from you guys. Even though I owned the Faces set, getting these LD rips just took me back. All the special edition crap and the prequel crap just melted away, and I haven't thought about Anakin building 3PO or Chewbacca knowing Yoda at all. It all seems like a distant memory or "something out of a dream. I don't know, maybe I'm just going crazy."
