Beatles Remastered Albums Due in September
Time

I think I would have liked a re-mix of the first two albums in Stereo.  George Martin hates these stereo mixes. He personally re-mixed the songs from "Please Please Me" & "With The Beatles" when they had shown up again on the 1976 compilation album "Rock and Roll Music".  The vocals need to be more center, and that added echo on the non lead vocal side has got to be reduced.

Ok. Here's another one.

During the walk to V'Ger near the end of the movie, after Ilia points and says "V'Ger!" we cut to a shot showing Decker, Spock, Kirk and Bones. In the theatrical cut, all we see are them and a little thunder noise being heard in the background. The Director's Edition adds two blue lightning effects to this shot.

You can see both lightning bolts absent on the 2nd DVD "Additional & Deleted Scenes" under "Wing Walk".

I don't blame you for missing this one at all. Even though the sound effects were changed in the Director's Edition to sound more dramatic, the original sound syncs up with the new lightning effects perfectly!

FIXED!

Thanks Again!

The publicity stills and the interviews are very cool, and the way the Enterprise takes off at movie start is awesome to,but I have never been a fan of the annoying warnings faneditors put on there DVD's,because quit frankly they are easily stripped and really do nothing, people are going to do whatever they want with the video anyways(I should know,ALOT of my previous works have been and still are being sold),just like we do,but your own little FF presentation is OK,it is like your signature.

Just got FEDS to and did not like the warning on that either,so I will strip it to LOL,FE started all that BS and now it seems everyone thinks it has to be on there.

Hell the official retail versions have arnings up the ass and we don't seem to listen to those do we?\

but hey that is just me,FF keep an eye on your PM's,you will be gettting one shortly.

Thank for the comment.  I'll leave everything but my FF logo off my next edit project.

Since the new headline is "RECALLED!," I'm assuming there's going to be a second issuing of the Special Longer Version in the pipeline?

Yes! *SMILE*

We are planing to fix the aspect ratio, re-encode with a better encoder, fix the glitches and shots that are not part of the original 1983 SLV.

I hope to have this back up ASAP.

And this is probably me, but since it wasn't in the trims it may be out of your control.

After Kirk beams aboard the station to meet Scotty, I seem to recall a moment where he starts out still and than starts moving like he was in a troop march. The Director's Edition trims it where we see him walking from the start.

Again, this may be hard to catch since it's trimming wasn't shown in the trim's video on the DVD, but that's what my memory is trying to convince me of remembering.

P.S. Sorry I'm columboing you like crazy. If I thought of all these edits at the same time, I'd put it in one post. My apologies.

FIXED!

Don't be sorry! Please, Please, Please, keep telling me the errors!

Oh!

You know the space station that Kirk beams to before he and Scotty take the travel pod to the Enterprise? Well, the last establishing shot of the station that shows the windows and the crew working inside, the Director's Edition put the Travel Pod into the scene where as in the original versions it wasn't docked.

FIXED! Thank You...

Here's one I caught.

During the Epsilon 9 introduction, there are two shots of the space man that differe from the Director's Edition to this edition.

Theatrical/Special Longer Edition: It shows the space man flying past us, than cuts to a slow pan down shot of him using his thrusters to gain speed.

Director's Edition: The shots have been switched where it now shows the space man using his thrusters and than cutting to the shot of him passing the camera.

The Director's Edition is the one you used.

Good catch!  I did not even know about some of these changes.  It's now FIXED!

Ok, I am attempting to re-encode the video at 16:9 now.  I tried to fix everything on the list that was not part of the original release.

FIXED! Typo in the DVD's disclaimer.

  • FIXED! Don't know if this could be fixed, but when Kirk and Scotty see the Enterprise for the first time, there is a reflection in the window. According to my memory, this was not in the Special Longer Version, added to the Director's Edition to add more resonance to the event (but I was personally bugger by because the reflective properties were not retained throughout). Again, you might not be able to fix this and, in the grand scheme of things, doesn't detract from the flow, but, since this is what seems like a purist effort, just F.Y.I.
  • FIXED! Beginning of the Kirk/Spock/McCoy reacquainted scene, the dialogue is slightly out of sync, then seems to correct itself.
  • FIXED! After McCoy says to Spock, "We just happen to be heading your way" (57:58), there is a lapse of footage for a split second, followed by Kirk's line.
  • On ORIGINAL Audio glitch at 1:02:30 after Chekov says his line and prior to Decker's line.
  • On ORIGINAL Very, very subtle video stutter at 1:03:32.
  • On ORIGINAL Audio stutter at 1:04:36.
  • Missing Footage At 1:04:47, the word "medic" is heard, but no one is seen saying it.*
  • ON ORIGINAL! Audio stutter at 1:05:55
  • ON ORIGINAL! Audio stutter at 1:07:02.
  • ON ORIGINAL! Audio stutter at 1:13:12.
  • ON ORIGINAL! Audio stutter at 1:14:02.
  • Can't find this error Video stutter at 1:14:11.
  • ON ORIGINAL! Audio stutter at 1:15:08.
  • Can't find this error Audio stutter at 1:20:49.
  • Can't find this error Audio stutter at 1:33:34.
  • FIXED! Another Director's Edition shot at 1:36:53 with V'Ger in the background where once was a black background. Again, just for purist's sake.
  • ON ORIGINAL! Audio stutter at 1:42:09.
  • ON ORIGINAL! This might be just on the film, but the video has a black bar flicker on screen at 1:42:39.
  • ON ORIGINAL! Audio stutter at 1:55:16.
  • ON ORIGINAL! Audio echo from Ilia at 1:58:06.
  • ON ORIGINAL!Repeated audio at around 2:04:24.
  • ON ORIGINAL! Audio stutter at 2:07:21.
  • Can't find this error A frame skips at 2:14:47.

If you guys can find any more errors by tonight, I will include them in the changes.

Maybe you could also re-master it in anamorphic, since others have suggested the fixes for it.

That is the plan, but I am going to need help with the settings in Adobe Premiere for 16:9 from a 4:3  AVI

* This is the edits big snag. This is the section where we run into missing footage. For some reason, there is missing footage foe parts of this scene. The few missing sections have not made been release in letterbox anyplace.  As far as I can see, there is no way to fix this error without the scene becoming more noticeable then it is now.

I think it went from 16:9 to 4:3 when I put the coverted Avi video through VirtualDub.  You see, I took the source from a DVD rip with DVD Decrypter. After the rip with DVD Decrypter, I am left with VOB files. I took the VOB files and used VobEdit to split up the VOB into audio and avi video.  You can't just use the avi at this point because it skips for some reason when you try to play it. Before I could edit it, I had to put it through VirtualDub (huffyuv  v2.1.1 codec). That is when it droped down to 4:3

I'm sorry about this problem. I'm just not good with the aspect ratio end of things.

I have verizon fios high speed fiber optic and Utorrent is still saying it could take up to a week.

But what do you expect from 1 seeder vs 56 leechers.

While downloading and being stuck at 57% i have already uploaded 36 gigs and have yet to finish, lol.

That's ok though i had a bit of a seeding ratio standing to make up for on demonoid and thanks to star trek and fanflitration its mission accomplished.

Despite this small community and a few people mentioning interest in the thread i am suprised just how many people want this, not surprised to fanfiltration having a following though.  After the excellent bond set he made and dune as well.

I hope someday he finished forgotten thunderball and fanfiltration of the apes.

After I saw the Blu-Ray of Thunderball I gave up on my project. The Planet of The Apes may get done after Twin Peaks.

I had to slow down my upload speed. I am sharing my internet with someone who works from home and has to use an IP phone. I can't hog too much of the bandwith during work hours.

Warning for all Torrent Fans!
Time

I found this note on a demonic torrent site.

Fake DRM

There have been reports of torrents including an info file that states that the file came from XXXXXX.com, and that you need to 'install a DRM identifier' in order to play a video file. Those files are fakes, and someone is trying to make you install some trojan. If you come accross one of those, delete them and report them in the tracker or indexing site you got them from so they can remove them
Thanks

@ FF,

Thanks alot for the heads up,but I want to know, you won't mind if I make this anamorphic when I get it do you?

I hate 4:3 LB on my setup,I wouldn't if I was still using my 35" picture tube TV though.

Thanks again

Please feel free to do that.  I just did not have the know how to make this anamorphic.
