On the other hand, I don't care for the Emperor theme in the briefing room. The Emperor isn't there. "Battle of the Heroes' plays when Obi and Darth do battle again. "Imperial March" plays when the Empire is shown to kick ass. Emperor's theme plays when... some dudes have a staff meeting. It just doesn't feel right to me.

I'm not 100% sure of this, but I believe Adywan included the Emperor's theme (more specifically, "Palpatine's Teachings" from the ROTS soundtrack) in that scene because the Emperor and was mentioned.

actually its the emperors theme from either Jedi/TPM or maybe AOTC, because the ROTS empy theme has no choir, while the other 2 (or 3) have the choir, also its not "palpatines teachings" its "sidious revealed" from the TFU mixed with the official Soundtrack and other sources

I must be really clever to use music from a game that came out 5 months after i had finished the edit.:)

LOL did you make it to 88mph. I liked the music. If not saying it is palpys theme I think overall it can just be the theme of the dark side. The Imperial March is used in scenes that don't have vader so why not.

Today is a sad day in the movie world. Writer/Director of many great family films such as

The Great Outdoors, Vacation, Sixteen Candles, Home Alone and The Breakfast Club sadly past away at the ripe age of 59 when he was taking a walk. They believe he died of a heart attack. I always loved his films because of how clean and fun they were. Just last night I was looking through his works and saying to myself I hope he makes another classic. Rest In Peace.

Wow, if I were you'd I'd be a lot more worried about my dad's health.

The fact that he is doing nothing but watching TV and being grouchy sounds like he might be taking his job loss relly hard, or at the very least responding to it very poorly. It can be pretty jarring to be torn out of a situation you have become comfortable with (i.e. getting up every morning, going to work, and recieveing a paycheck every payday) and we don't always adapt as we should.

Your dad sounds like he might be kind of depressed (everybody expresses this a little differently), and sitting around starring at a glowing box day in and day out is a sure fire way to find yourself even deeper in depression. You didn't mention having a mom or any siblings around, and you mentioned that you do the cleaning, so I will assume it is just you and you dad. Does he have any close friends around? People that he has known and respected for many years? Your grandparents, uncles, aunts, long time family friends?

Actually my mom works at Wal Mart and My sis and her hubby have been living here with my neice. so everybody is around

If things are really as bad as you say, and he really never even leaves the couch, then you might need to seek the help of some of these other people in his life to get him moving again. Does he leave the house at all? Or is the bathroom, kitchen, and couch literally the only places he sees for certain stretches of time?

He goes outside and does yard work. Usually when there isn't anything on the TV

On to Bingo's suggestion, he has a very good idea. Just keep filling out applications. Sure things are tight right now, and hiring is slow, but don't let that be an excuse. Things come up, employees quit or get fired and new ones have to be hired. Fill them out for everyplace you can think of, and then a few more, and with a little luck, sooner or later you'll get a call from one of them. Also keep in mind that they only keep your application on hand for about three months, and sometimes less. Most applications will have this written on them. So be sure to reapply as soon as possible. I assume you are in high school, but if not, keep in mind that once school starts and high school students quit their summer jobs, this will open up a lot of positions. If you are in college, many stores have policies of working around your school schedule and will gladly do so.

Actually I haven't been in high school for quite some time LOL. Right now I am working on getting a decent education so I can go to an art school someday soon

Hope your situation takes a turn for the better, and I hope your dad's situation isn't quite as severe as I picked up on from your post.

It isn't god awful I just miss watching decent television.

Woot? V2 of SWR? For gods sake dont become another Star Wars tinker man!

Hang on, we aint stung in the pocket for every re-release :-)

Id love to say i had the new updated edition to people who have revisted already (just for those in the know ;-)).

I find all this V2 of SWR a bit anal, and also insulting to Adywan who spent over two years of his life correcting mistakes and tinkering with effects to make them better - for free!!!

No matter what Adywan did, some people were never satisfied with what they got, and feel the need to go one step further with the ultimate 'Revisited' edit. Even then they'll complain or want to change something else. Any edit past the 'Revisited' edit by Adywan is a totally different edit and therefore shouldn't be called a 'Revisited' revisited edit.

Its done, dusted and best left as is, and that is a masterpiece. Thank-you Adywan!

And I thought it was Anakin that was whiny.

Damn Straight if it aint broke don't fix it

Um, it was Ady's idea, and its mostly so we can have an audio commentary.  He might change maybe 3 things.  I would think of it as a NON-PURIST version with commentary more than ANHR Revisited.

So Ady is releasing his true vision. He did go along with what most of the purist said on his regular revisited release. Regardless of what he does I am going to get it LOL. I hope he does whatever he wants to it because he has good taste and a good eye.

Assuming it's his TV (and couch), I'm afraid you don't really have a lot of room for complaint.

Since it sounds like negotiation isn't an option, the most practical advice you're likely to receive is to save up for your own set. I imagine second-hand (or 'used') CRTs or back-projection sets can be had pretty cheaply these days...

When do you think you're likely to move out?

As soon as I can find a job to save up on. It is sad not even McDonald's will hire me and they are usually a last resort when it comes to jobs. I swear there is too many people were I live and they took all of the jobs. So I am basically broke LOL. Right now I am working on my education so I can get a job atleast better than fast food (been there done that).

Why is this thread dead. I think we should continue to elaborate on this. I have an idea that would be interesting. The Family Guy Blue Gender animation is a good basis. I think instead of starting from scratch we could use the films as blue prints. Basically drawing over what is already there. Now the adding filters thing doesn't work. I am saying to basically do it frame by frame then afterwords we could even have the extra biggs and luke on tatooine scene LOL.

You mean Family Guy Blue "Harvest"

Where did you get "gender" from?

Oh shit sorry that was an anime from the 90's LOL. I meant Harvest thank you LOL.

How can I get someone to go away?

My dad whom I love very much spends the majority of his time on the couch. He sleeps there, he spends the whole day there. The living room is the only room with a halfway decent television. Yet I can never watch anything that I like. I swear I haven't watched a show that I actually like since my dad lost his job. My dad is one of those people who gets pissed very easily. I stay up all night so that he might go upstairs to his extremely comfortable bed so I may watch a movie or television. But no. I will clean the room whilst he is there and make noise yet it doesn't phase him. I will do the dishes very loudly but still he doesn't care. I even tried coping with it by taking the remote from him when he sleeps. He wakes up all pissed because it isn't something he wants to watch. I wish we could get along but we don't. As I am typing this now he is curled up on the couch with HGTV blaring and I know that if I change the channel he will wake up and put it on that god awful channel. Help me guys I haven't watched anything palatable in 1 year.

I agree, I was never really sure why everyone hated the 97s so much. Obviously, they weren't quite as good as the O-OT, because a lot of stuff just felt tossed in ("Look! Remember Shadows of the Empire? Well, here's a swoop and the Outrider! Also, a big dinosaur! And falling Jawas! And an angry droid! And a shot of Vader getting off his shuttle at Cloud City! And more Dewbacks, and a Sentinel-class shuttle, and so many awesome things that we just HAD TO SHOW YOU!) But they didn't screw with too much, other than Greedo shooting first. And it was nice to see the cleaner picture than the old Faces VHS box.

I loved the SE. Aside from the horribly flamboyant jabbas palace dance number they showed real charm. I grew up with the originals and I am proud to say I still have the originals. Most of my frustration I take out on the DVDs are the fact that I can't see the Star Wars I grew up with in higher quality than laserdisc. I want to show my children these movies. I want them to say oh the originals were soo much better. I like what adywan is doing. I think it is this site that makes me proud to be a star wars nerd again. Before I came here I was just an old fan who thought I would never see the original star wars in high quality. Now I am still the same person I just have friends to cry with LOL

I am not taking sides with anyone in this matter. I will simply state that when I got the 2004 dvd boxset I nearly shat myself.

That's what I nearly did when I saw Hayden at the end of ROTJ. 8-O

I didn't watch ROTJ until like 2 weeks after I got the set. I didn't want to watch it all of the way through. After the Jedi Rocks scene I was pissed. But ROTJ wasn't one of my favorites to begin with.

Thanks you very much

Yeah! Great job, mate!

The new colors - being more diverse - are much easier on the eyes, too.

Not to toot my own horn but I like it because it looks more OTish. The colouring looks like it was put there in 1980. That was what I was going for. I can't wait to see what Ady will do to the orange cloud city scenes

Very, very nice, ESF! :)

Thanks. Wow I am happy now LOL.

I am starting to think about colour correcting films from now on. I guess that could be my role in the OT.com

Wow. Well, if you want to celebrate mediocrity, be my guest. Personally, I find slip-shod jobs and deplorable quality things to be eschewed, but to each his own...

Sorry, but I in fact do not celebrate mediocrity.  I just choose to appreciate the movies for their plots rather than hate them for minor inconveniences.  Now don't get me wrong.  I also appreciate the fan films and fan edits, especially Adywan's Revisited version.  I simply consider every edition to be "definitive" because no matter how many times the special effects change, the story stays the same.

I am not taking sides with anyone in this matter. I will simply state that when I got the 2004 dvd boxset I nearly shat myself. It was beautiful. But this is because I had been watching these movies on 3 1990 VHSs. I had watched these movies hundreds of times. The picture looked horrible so a clean crisper looking star wars trilogy was beautiful to me. So as far as looks and sound I was happy. I am still happy. I still want to see the theatrical cut in atleast 720p.  I would be delighted to go out and buy another set if I they were given that treatment.
