STAR WARS: EP V "REVISITED EDITION"ADYWAN - 12GB 1080p MP4 VERSION AVAILABLE NOW

I was wondering about this too. I don't recall a soundtrack release for ANH:R, but maybe I missed it?

I thought I was the only one. If this is true, I bet it sounds amazing. The problem with the official soundtracks is how badly they were transferred to cd. They removed hiss and removing hiss always results in loss of detail. ABC's soundtrack set was the only one I have actually listened to from here. It sounded great. I would like to get my hands on Ady's. Now, when we are talking about soundtrack, don't you guys mean the isolated score on the DVD-9?

Did someone just seriously suggest that I do a commentary? I'm flattered, but I don't know any more than anyone else, I just compiled it all together.

Peter Bogdovich's commentary's on some of Orson Welles's films (becasue Welles is apparently too lazy to record his own DVD commentaries... jerk!) are some of the more interesting things out there to listen too if your a film buff.

I mean, in the young artform/hobby of fanediting, your compilations makes you one of the foremost scholars in an emerging field :)

I wanted to say this on Friday but the site was down:

"The franchise rights alone will make us rich beyond our wildest dreams."

And if I or anyone were to do this, it only makes sense to do it via a separate MP3 like Rifftrax. It wouldn't have to sync up exactly. Heck, I've listened to the startrek.com commentary on TMP:DE twice, and not once with the movie!

Being way off topic. I had the idea for everybody on this site to make a video documetary. My thread was destroyed because people said that People V.S. George Lucas is being made. But I wasn't talking about our hatred or love for george. I just wanted a film on the history of Fan Editing, Our need to get the OT on home video in good quality, and or trials of fan edits. But no people would prefer seeing George Lucas Raped Our Childhood. I just wanted to have a little film of us all talking about different fan edits and preservation efforts. And love for star wars.

The prequels have little story as it is. Removing a whole character would not only be difficult (and I second Angel's question of whether you know how you'd go about removing him as an element) but would probably mess up the story.

A far more realistic undertaking would be a redub, so that we might actually start to like his character.

I think Jar-Jar should be more like 3-PO was in the OT. He needs to be smart and still not liked by the other characters. Redub him with an english accent. Hell the characters hated threepio but we all loved him.

In the Jedi Academy game there is a sand monster that is just like the bolded idea you had Bingo. It only pops up when you are on the sand. The only cover is jumping on rocks. So I could imagine something like that. I would love to see it anticipating Lando. Instead of tentacling him to it's mouth it could be squirming closer to him.

There is the gargantuan. But it doesn't necessarily have to come out of the sand. Unless we could add a dramatic effect of it coming out at nearly the last minute right when Lando is just about to get out of the sand though that might be too much. The monster is called a sand burrower. I like the way the mouth is. To me it is basically the sarlacc that never was.

Video Games - a general discussion thread
Time

These aren't new games but I have been playing them and I love them.

Tomb Raider:Legend This game is one of my favorites. The only problem I had with it was....It was way too short. I did like it better than other Tomb Raider games because the controls were 100% better. Tomb Raider has been known for it's un-customizable shitty controls that give even the best gamers a hard time. But Legend's default controls were great. But now I can imput my own controls. This game overall is very user friendly. Unlike other Tomb Raider games, I wasn't screaming at my computer after 10 minutes of gameplay.

All in all, the only problems most people have with this game is Lara's breast size. But really I always felt they were way too exaggerated.

Story 5/5. Yes, it has mushy "My momma's gone moments." But nothing is better than searching for Excalibur.

Gameplay 5/5. This game just oozes with that wonderful element of challenge. You have to use your head. Sometimes you will be in situations were you will say "Well DUH." Then there are the unconventional puzzles that will make you think. But really, this game helps you along the way.

Character 5/5 Come on it is Lara Croft. The fun thing about the game is you have company. Lara's partners at the manor help Lara in the middle of these dark tombs. They even add a level of comedy without tossing pies.

Graphics 5/5. In the PC version you are given the option of using next-gen graphics. If you have an NVIDIA you are gonna have a good day. I didn't the first time I played it so I had to go with PS2 graphics. But it really has good graphics.

Overall 5/5. Yes I recommend this game 100%. I would recommend this to teenagers and adults. Kids might have a hard time getting past some of the graphic monsters in it. I used to have a hard time playing Shadows Of The Empire because the wampas scared me.

Tomb Raider: Anniversary This game was a great remake. When you think of a remake you think that you are going to play the exact same game. In this case NOOOOOO.

Toby Gard (The Creator of Tomb Raider) returned to the Tomb Raider franchise with Legend after years of just giving up on the character. His flavor is in every corner of this game.

Story 5/5. Nothing much has changed as far as the story goes. But it still has new things to offer.

Gameplay 3/5 Yes I said it. There is a move in this game that if you haven't mastered you cannot play it. It is the adrenaline dodge. This move is used on every boss you encounter. To do this move you have to piss off your opponent by filling up their PO METER. They will charge at you and you have to press several buttons and freeze time giving them a shot in the head. You have to do this several times. I gave up for about a week and finally got back to playing it. I suggest when you play this game to practice this move 100 times.

Characters. 4/5 Lara is the same awesome Lara we love. But the other characters are as shitty and badly acted as ever.

Graphics. 4/5 The graphics in this game are great but they aren't always used to your advantage.

Overall 4/5 I wouldn't recommend this to the novice gamer. This game is for people who enjoy having a hard time. The T-Rex is huge and you cant avoid fighting him. The Centaurs pissed me off. But really everything in this game is huge. You get vertigo in the main room of St. Francis Folly. You really feel the scale of this game. It makes you wonder how much work went into this game.

Parents don't buy this game for your kids. They will love it but they will break your monitors and televisions out of shear aggravation.

If you want to challenge yourself with a good game BUY IT.

1. I'm never going to watch the second two prequels or the SEs.

Why is that? If you see them you'll understand better what went wrong with the prequels and what has happened to Star Wars. Those last two films are quite an eye-opener. They go wrong so horribly and in so many ways. I find it very interesting to analyze their fucked-upness and their mentality and mood. I think you could get much out of watching them and finding out what people here are talking about. Certainly, I think it is unfair to say ROTJ is similar to "the prequels", which indicates similarity to the dreadful later two prequels (along with the first), without having seen the two films you are comparing it to.

I am sorry but I believe it is better for him to not see them. Watching the prequels is like walking in your parents..... I am not going to finish that, we are adults here.

You basically ask yourself the same questions. "Why did I have to see that?" "Oh god my life is ruined." "I think I am going to be sick."

But really, I think it is better for Anchorhead to just end it with the OT. He is a happier guy for it. I wish I could be that way. But no, I am OCD, I have to see something complete. I love the Beatles, so I have all of there albums. I love Star Wars so I have them all. I wish I could love only one thing.

THE PT films bothered me too, but I'm much happier for having seen them. I'm not happy about what was done in them, but I'm happy I know that stuff and have some understanding of it. You can't know the prequels from having seen just TPM, because TPM is way better than the other two. The awfulness of AOTC and ROTS really needs to be seen. And some amusement can be gleaned from it. I'm into studying the prequels and their faults and I have reached the point where I can get quite a bit of amusement out of lines like "You underestimate my power!" and that crap about the high ground. Better to know something than to not know.

I watched AOTC about 4 times. It doesn't really work, but I can still watch it. Now ROTS is the movie that really churns my stomach. I have watched 3 times. Only 1 out of those 3 was on my own accord. The other times I was at somebody else's house. I was hoping it was going to be good. AOTC really didn't bother me aside from Yoda and Hayden. But I gave ROTS the benefit of the doubt. I thought just from the poster that "Oh hell yeah, This movie can't suck. When the shit hits the fan George Lucas usually delivers."

My hopes had been bent over a counter and raped. I should have seen it coming. Everybody in the theater clapped and cheered. I was sickened. My family, who I thought had good taste even liked it. My mom thought it was the best one ever. I felt like an outsider when I told them at dinner that I hated it. It wasn't until I found this site that I realized that there are people who hate the prequels.

Good avatar, btw.

Thanks, Nien Nunb owns.

Some fixes here and there.

1.Removed the wound before the blast hits. Less centered shot.

2. New sublte sky to remove the stormy one. Added eyes to the rock face near luke.

3.New subtle sky to remove the flatness and add some depth. Removed Leia's mark from her back ( leia must be perfect :D ).New framed shot.

huhu 4000 replies!

Angel, you have an amazing gift. You bring out so much detail in the masks of the guards and you give Lukes caked on makeup a more natural look. Great work.

Here goes. Bingo, I thickened up the trees for you :-) It did look a bit too pretty, like a park. While I don't think all planets should look the same all over, I don't want to vary it too much. So, slightly more foresty. I also tried making the planet bigger but it didn't look right.

That is truly beautiful, I would go there on my hols if it was real!

Thanks. I wouldn't mind that myself. Looks like a weekend in Brighton again for me :-(

At least you guys get to go places. I won't be leaving the hell hole that is Tennessee for quite sometime. >:O

See, this is why you need me. You still need me to point out the obvious: I'm much more handsome than that other guy.

Just look at him - too much hair, not pixelated enough, clearly enjoying himself too much with some awful drink in a ego-mug. I'm much more of a catch.

Yeah and you were the best damn roadie ever. You made sure Ozzy got his brown M&Ms and played a good show that night.

I think bashing ROTJ is a tired cliche...

a lot of inventing faults that weren't there...

It's a great film like the other two and I wish people would stop perpetuating the myth that it's the bad one in the trilogy.

As much as you may not care to hear it or accept it, there are some people who genuinely disliked Return when they saw it in the theater, myself among them. We felt every bit as let down by it as you do by the prequels.

Our thoughts aren't cliche, they aren't invented, nor is our view a myth. For a great many people, the story & style of Return fits better with the prequels than they do with the first two films. That's been clearly demonstrated here and backed up with examples - not tired cliches.

I explained my thoughts here;

http://www.originaltrilogy.com/forum/topic.cfm/How-would-you-have-done-ROTJ/post/370539/#TopicPost370539

As a child I loved it a whole lot. As I got older I slowly stopped watching it. As the SE came around I quit all together. When the shitty prequels came out I quit watching any of the Star Wars movies at all. When Adywan came around it revamped my inner child. I think as far as editing will go ROTJ is full of possibility. The prequels aren't unless adywan really pulls his sleeves back and works his ass to non-existence.

I don't know why I get so mad at the prequels. I didn't get mad at the plethora of Battlestar Galactica spin offs and reimagings or the many different versions of Star Trek. Hell I just take my William Shatner/Patrick Stewart versions and have a good day. I completely dismiss other things I don't like. But why Star Wars.

Why does it haunt me in the night. Why does the horrible acting and overly disheveled yoda dialogue laugh at me. Why WHY WHY!!!!!!!!!!

I guess the whole good vs bad philosophy is true. You have the OT which represents everything that is good and pure in our lives and then you have the PT which has to try it's best to destroy the OT and even leaves its mark with the shitty SE.

That's the best argument I've heard for keeping Shaw in the ending scene, cap. Lucas' explanation that Anakin truly died when he became Darth Vader and therefore his ghost would look like Hayden is a stretch, and if its a matter of choice of what to appear as, why wouldn't Obi-wan and Yoda choose to look younger (thank goodness Lucas doesn't think like that)?

Since its technically a hallucination of Luke's or he chooses to see them as he knows them, Shaw as Anakin makes sense. He's never seen a picture of his father, how could he imagine what he looks like (and don't tell me, "The Force!")?

Thanks, 005, but I think I did not fully convey the abstraction I was trying to describe.

The way I see it, Luke is sensing the presence of Ben, Yoda, and Anakin with the Force, not with his eyes, so it doesn’t matter whether he knows what Anakin looked like as a young man. The question is, in this moment of celebration after the destruction of Death Star II, when Luke “sees” Ben, Yoda, and Anakin, which Anakin does he see?

If Luke sees a hot-headed young man who was jerked around by the Jedi Council and the Chancellor of the Republic, then we should see Hayden Christensen.

If Luke sees a loving father who didn’t realize he was still capable of love until it overwhelmed him and he turned on his master, sacrificed his own life, and brought down the Galactic Empire to save his son, then we should see Sebastian Shaw.

Damn strait.

Coming Shortly:

Due to some of Angel's mockups being tied together and some had black borders and my fear of his hosting going down, I've saved all of the pictures from the wishlist and will be rehosting them from my Photobucket. Should make little difference, but it should be more uniform. I'll also be tweaking everyone else's for continuity also.

Some DeviantART user is probably gonna rat me out about my copyright issues so I got all my stuff saved in a folder.

No socks, okay guys? They can be funny and all, but I hate having to clean up that shit.

Ric, you have 24 hours to convince Jay that you are funny enough to stay.

24 hours to prove I'm funny? Now that is some pressure!

Moth3r - thanks for even considering this.

To the others who have played along with me - thanks for making this a fun ride. It would have been pointless if you didn't enjoy it too. And sorry about the deception. But it was more fun this way, right?

Jay - I'd love to hammer out some long hilarious essay about why you should keep me around. But let's be honest, I'm kind of a one-trick pony. I think I can still provide some entertainment, but it's going to be more of the same. It's not my fault George made me so one-dimensional. Regardless, I think I have to stand on my body of work to this point. Whatever your decision, I will understand and live with it. All I ask is for you to remember that we live in a pretty serious world, and it's nice to have someone who can point out the obvious in a lighthearted manner once in a while. I should also point out that it's been rough going for expository characters in today's economy, and I don't know how I could explain losing this gig to little Jimmy Olie and Ric Olie Jr.
