And another one that doesn't work at all.

I've yet to see one of your music score replacements that actually add anything to the footage (this one is wholly inappropriate it shatters the mood entirely).

I don't want to sound defeatist maybe you will stumble on a bit of PT music that improves an OT scene one day (it seems to be an obsession of yours) but it will take eternity if just throw random tracks over scenes like this.

Look at the scene, look at what happens on screen and listen to the music, you are only wasting your time if you try to match two elements that don't fit and will never fit.

And to further that statement:

John Williams scored the music for the scenes. I watched a documentary on it and he would sit in a room and watch the movies 100 times just to decide where music should go. He then made the music. The movies were done months before music was scored. The music has always worked in their respective scenes.

It's a fact that he is.

 I'm talking with more changes.

So was I. It's a fact that it's happening. The time frame isn't clear yet.

I don't even know what "perfect CG" means. What does that mean? Seriously.

When you can't tell the difference between CG and real life.  It sounds like a stretch now, but I think CG will get there someday.

With human CG characters, it will never happen. And I mean that sincerely, not being reactionary. It will never happen that we have CG humans who are totally distinguishable from real humans, for the reasons I already stated.

And this video only furthers your statement

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bLiX5d3rC6o

It will be a long time to create something like this without capturing the human elements such as skin and hair. But it still is lifeless. Yes it is the future but the future still looks fake.

When CGI looks cartoony it looks more convincing. But when we try our best to make it photo-realistic, it still fails. The eyes are the window to the soul. The eyes always give even the best CGI away.

There is no piece of music in the world that is more epic than the Imperial March.

Damn straight. And Plus ESB only has the Imperial March in it about 5 times. The PTs music was good but it wasn't Star Wars.

I really think that the model ships in the OT minus the garbage mattes, were more convincing than CGI.

I believe that in the future CGI will be convincing but as of now no. I have nothing against CGI for man made items, but I absolutely hate CGI on living creatures. The Uncanny Valley effect is always present. I have seen flawless CGI models on the internet that breath and smile. But still they don't look alive.

I think at this point in the creation of ESB:R, we should be naming things that need to be fixed instead of adding to it. Ady isn't going to change the story of this film. The way the film was edited in 1980 was and still is amazing. What is being done now is making this film look better. Ady is doing cosmetic work to the film at this stage. I don't want to summarize all of his hard work in a short paragraph, but I don't think Ady will be adding any new scenes. As a true Star Wars fan he is one of the people that understand that the reason the prequels were so bad was because of how much useless spoon-feeding were present in the films.

I don't like being treated like an idiot when I go to the theater. The PT was like spending the weekend at my grandparents house only to wind up watching Dora The Explorer and Blues Clues with my little cousins.

Adding a useless scene to an already great movie is like buying a Ducati when you can't even drive a motorcycle. It might sound like a good idea but then you have to wonder why you did such a thing.

BTW I love Ducatis. VROOOOM VROOOM!!!!!!!!!

If I was to do an edit of the whole saga I wouldn't add PT music to the OT. I would add OT music to the PT. I would replace CGI ships with scale models and I would colour correct the films to look like the pre SE OT.

Of course I have nothing against your ideas but it is absolutely clear that the majority of the members on this site dislike the prequels. I think they have some potential.

I do from time to time get a horrible headache thinking of how to make them as good as the OT.

Why isn't there going to be a ground battle on Hoth?  I know that it would take alot of time to do, but it would make sense if there was one added.  Mabey if Lucas does an edit, this will be added.

Why does there need to be a ground battle? It would just be adding something for the sake of it really. The Empire have these huge metal beasts who's main objective is to destroy the shield generator. They have no need to risk wasting ground troops when the walkers can easily do this job. Only when the shield is down do the ground troops need to go in. We don't need to see it though.

Damn right you are Ady. That is exactly what I hated about the PT. If someone in the movie said they needed to drop a deuce, George would have shot them in the bathroom and would've had Ric Olie commentate the process.

I think some PT music should be added.  Nothing noticible, but just background music.  The PT's music is much more epic than hearing the same old Imperial March every scene.  Mix in a sad version of force theme from the PT when the Empire is close to winning.

At least add some epic music to the Vader/Luke scene.

Anakins Betrayal would work somewhere to.

No! No! No! The PT music is more epic? You have got to be kidding me. ESB has one of the best soundtracks of all time. The PT scores just don't come anywhere close to the masterpieces John Williams did for ANH & ESB (not overkeen on ROTJ's score though but still leagues ahead of what we got for the PT). I stated many times that there will be no added music and definitely no music from the PT in ESB:R. The score works perfectly as it is and doesn't need hacking up just to add snippets from the PT scores with themes that have nothing to do with what is happening on screen

And like i have said many times the PT need to be made to fit in with the OT and not the other way around. The only reason i added "battle of the heroes" into ANH was that this was the rematch between Obi-Wan & Vader so that helped tie in the two trilogies.

Again you are right. Adding PT music to an already perfectly scored ESB is like adding vinegar to a cappuccino.

Out of all the soundtracks I own, ESB has to be the one I listen to the most. ESB and ANH were perfect. ROTJ was in most places, but the real jems were on the latter.

John Williams was like a modern day Mussorgsky, Stravinsky or any 'sky' that ever lived on those 2 soundtracks. I would pair them with my Beethoven collection easily.

Should we rotoscope Willow in the movie as Dooku's pilot when he escapes Geonosis...

Why not rotoscope good old Ric Olie in there - I'm already a pilot, and familiar with PT-style acting.

I wasn't kidding about your EU novel. I am thinking of a good story for you. When it is done you can write an observation of it and then we will publish it.

My try :)

Too extreme? Consider it as ideas that can be in. Like sparks, fires, tilt to camera, non centered shots Sunlight from cracks, more depth, more colors, etc.

That one shot dominates any Star Wars special effect I have seen since the Star Destroyer boomed overhead. Beautiful.

That reminds me of one time I was late for English class and the teacher always made us write out a full page of whatever we wanted, as long as it was a page long. I basically made one run-on sentence that spanned hundreds of words that all related to the first few words. One of those 'he said that I said that they said that I said that he said...' things. And it worked! It's just like double negatives and how you just have to count the number of them. I wonder if I still have it somewhere...

I was made to write an essay for being late in class. So I wrote an essay that could only be read with a mirror.
