I look forward to a really radical reworking of the prequels (including redubbing the worst of the dialogue acting human, alien and droid).

*clapclapclapclapclap*  Absolutely.  Any attempt to make the prequels legitimately *good* will have to involve making their stories nearly unrecognizable when compared to the original versions.

I'm still very apprehensive about what will happen when Ady gets his hands on them (and ROTJ, for that matter) - I think there's a high risk of a very intense backlash against Ady if he changes "too much" about the prequels/ROTJ.

They can kiss his ass and watch the originals. All of these annoying purists should stay out of the fan edit section. Especially when it comes to edits of the prequels or in your case the complete removal of the prequels which I fully applaud.

The case with ROTJ. He can do whatever he wants with it. That film needs a new mood to it. I am sure Ady can make it a darker film than ESB.

I hope he radically fixes the 3 prequels.

ROTJ is a good shell, it just needs some elbow grease and great editing. I guarantee it will be way better.

I look forward to ESB:R for the visual work done to it. But I really look forward to ROTJ:R, because I know I am in for a real treat. ROTJ was great in it's day and will always be great, but it needs to be like the other 2. ANH and ESB were building up to ROTJ and it felt like it just went too fast. You cannot destroy an Empire in 3 days unscathed. I want you to feel that nobody is going to survive. The Empire should have the upperhand to the very last minute.

Let's just say that their vulgar display of power should explode right in their faces.

This film can be dark. I can see it in my head. Luke already seems worried about everybody in the battle. But we can make his worries true. The space battle must be terrible. X-wings should be exploding all over the place. Tie fighters should be spitting out of the Death star by the hundreds (thousands if Ady feels up to it)

The film should be focused soley on the last 20 minutes of the original version. The whole rescue from Jabba's palace is needed, but it doesn't have to be a main focus.

If I could show you all a rough draft of what is in my head, I would. Words cannot describe it, but I hope Ady has something grander in mind.

Ady we are with you and we will stay with you until every one of these films are done.

I think Ady will do something special for this battle. Remember that technology will be 2 years better than it is today. So he could pull this off easier and better than he could right now. That's really the only reason I'm glad he is doing the saga 4-5-6-1-2-3. Meaning TPM needs alot of work just visually.

If he just colour corrects it, removes Jar Jars antics, and axes the midichlorions, I will be happy. I think visually it is more like the OT than the other 2.

The effects weren't terrible. They just need some tweaking. Some of the pointless rambling needs a good trim. This film is way more salvageable than the horrible Hayden PT films.

Something like this would be great but very time consuming (I can't imagine many of the original elements of what was in it's day a ground breaking set of special effects sequences surviving a reworking of this magnitude).

It would also add to the impression of a major clash between two fleets if we saw more fighting way off in the distance.

The ROTJ battle frequently has something epic in the foreground to cover up that there isn't much going on in the background (other than a lot of cut and paste duplicated ships barely moving about).

I think adding 100's of ties in the battle will make it more epic. I would like to see 5 ties tailing every x-wing/y-wing. The Falcon needs to be covered in them. It will make the battle more of an edge of the seat battle. You should be given the impression that it is an un-winnable battle.

Adding some unexpected things to the battle would be cool too.

Add more depth to the battle. Have Admiral Ackbar bump one of the larger ships with his Mon Calamari ship.

Or add to it. Have Admiral Ackbar bump a Star Destroyer causing it to bump into another Star Destroyer.

The Rebels should be more barbaric. The Imperials seem to be into this code they made for war-fare. Making the rebels uninterested in the Imperials Gentlemanly/Sportsmanlike war-fare.

I think the engines should be more like this. As they are now, the haze is too overwhelming. Of course there are alternatives.

I have a thing for the back engines of these huge vessels.

It would also work in ROTJ for the Death Star reveal. Cover that big boy in shadow!

I wish they would have made the underbelly shots more like this

Well, then...

Good to see you have began work on CD2:)

Hehe ! I just wanted to prepare the work as to make sure I could handle the little "miracles" I targeted to manage. Finally I took advantage of that my hears are still hot for this score and... It is almost finished. ;)

... And I have the pleasure to let you know that from "Carbon freeze" to the "Finale", it's an increasing masterpiece. :)

(Let see if it makes Skyjedi2005 forget the Anthology... ;p)

Your last soundtrack release made me forget about the Anthology. Though the Anthology does come in an attractive rectangular box and it has a wonderful booklet.

I like both of your ideas Monroville!

Not sure either but maybe some slight clouds in that scene like we see in previous ones?

-Angel

Finally some life in that shot. I used to think that scene was beautiful, but your mockup makes it look ugly in comparison. Good work!!!!!!!

P.S. Good work on those Asteroid scenes.

Kenny Baker has stated many times that Anthony Daniels goes to every Star Wars convention as long as he isn't there. I read an interview about 10 years ago, he said he went to an award ceremony and saw Anthony Daniels there. As soon as Anthony saw him he left.

Anthony Daniels has never stated why he didn't like Kenny Baker. It was solidified as truth in Bring Back Star Wars when he wouldn't go if Kenny Baker was going to be there. Even Peter Mayhew and Dave Prowse has said they don't get along.

Aren't they a little too old to be fighting like kids? Maybe youthfulness stays with some people for ever.

I guess those vimpire romance/porn novels (Twilight and its hoards of clones) are a pretty big thing these days,

I was at a Border's the other day, and they have a whole section. Not a section of 'sci fi' or 'fantasy' or 'romance' but an entire block of the store, four entire shelving units, two DVD displays and a banner all for 'young girl and vampire romances'.

I almost poured my hot chai tea into my eyes to try and make myself unsee it.

I read a few pages of one of my Aunt's vampire novels called "Love Bites", which involved the biting of another vampire's "happy place".

I nearly died.

To think, all of those 40+ women in Barnes and Noble and Books A Million are reading stuff like that.

I hope one day we will get a monster that isn't stereotypical like Frankenstein's monster, Vampires, Killers, or any of those shitty Halloween/Kruger/Jason/Leather-face monsters.

Creating laws adds some realism to it. It is the same with witches and wizards in Harry Potter. It makes it seem like they really exist. If they a governed by rules and laws, they blend in with society. I always preferred my vampires to be loners, but for some people I guess the need to be ultra fanboys. Really, the whole vampire thing is over-done. Twilight really destroyed vampires for me.

People like to pretend that fiction is real, hence the horrible EU, and it's constant scientific corrections of George's mistakes.

Fans like their movies, books, or fictional worlds to be perfect. If it is perfect, then it is real in the fans eyes.

I really don't care about vampirific novels or movies anymore.

I say the Super Star Destroyer should be shown coming in to frame only to be shadowed by the Death Star. It would make an unsuspecting audience think what could possibly dwarf the executor?

George always seemed to dwarf all of these humongous ships by even bigger ships. Let us continue that flow.

I like those mockups Vaderios, but what about having it even earlier in the morning?

well the first idea was the buildings would be almost like silhouettes with the fireworks illuminate their colors here and there indicating depth. But it was too dark... I liked the idea of dawn of the new era.

Maybe. I can try :)

Actually I would like to see this in ESB and have a nice happy day at the end of Return Of The Jedi. This picture looks sadder so it would fit in ESB with the imperial take over.

Add happy clouds and play Mr. Blue Sky at the end of ROTJ and we will have a happier ending.

Well with my version you get more visible detail, better mood, sense of scale( jungle always wins) and light behavior.

I always loved the look of Dagobah. To me, it is a lot like the designs of Legend. It really adds fantasy to Star Wars. But what you have done makes the previous releases of Dagobah look like a mere set (which it is)

Keep it up Angel!!!!!!!!!

But to keep this somewhat on topic, I was wondering if there is the possibility to add lighting effects be it on Dagobah, Bespin, Endor, the Emperor's private palace and the like to subtract from the "set look (uniform lighting from background to foreground)".  Here are some examples:

ESF did an awesome mockup that shows a sun behind the throne room set that creates sunrays. Or i can remember Bingo's one to the homeone briefing scenes he added some light rays from top lights.

I like the idea, i dont know if its possible to do it to set shots. You know i tried to do something in the endor scenes. much more easy.

This one.
