Lately I have been expanding my music collection. My hard drive is actually used primarily for music.

Ape is becoming very popular for sound quality, but it is too much work.

FLAC is basically as awesome in sound as APE, but it is as easy to use as MP3's.

I usually pass up APE files without hesitation, because I do not like my albums being put into 1 track.

Ever since I got my first FLAC album, it is all I listen too.

I want to ask your opinions on the matter. Is Ape really worth the trouble? Why don't they play in Winamp (god of all music players)?

How do you split up the tracks with cue sheets. Is APE better than FLAC?

Now that is the best idea I have ever heard. It would also explain why his acting is soo unstable. He should really seem crazy. He already does!!!

If keeping the surprise for new viewers can be done in a convincing way I would love to see it, of course. Magnoliafan claimed to have a way before he left the board. It would also be pretty cool to have Vader, the new apprentice after Anakin dies, kill the younglings (as suggested in this thread), but it would mean insane amounts of rotoscoping.

Davnes did a great job and even killed Jar Jar in the video. We have both agreed that the fight against Obi Wan should happen earlier in the film. It should be made to look like Anikan died. Then Darth Vader shows up and attacks the Jedi Temple. Palpy even says his New Apprentice Darth Vader.

I wonder if it would be possible to make Darth Vader force choke padme instead of Anikan. Anikan should fear the death of Padme and the rise of Vader.

I am glad you made a new petition. I think we can really get a message across. If this petition fails, then Star Wars as I know it has died.

I am starting up a new project for Spaceballs. Why? Because the lack of Spaceballs fan-edits. I want to basically revisit this film like Ady has done with Star Wars (although I cannot do the work he has done to Star Wars).

Things I will do:

Colour correction

FX enhancements/replacements (if possible)

Garbage Matte fixes (Maybe)

Matte replacements/enhancements (If there are good replacements)

Re-rotoscoping the schwartz sabers. (Maybe)

Enhancing Ships/Adding more Star Warsish engine glow

New Music

Pretty Much all audio (Aside from Wilhelm-screams)

This film isn't going to be different, but it will look cleaner. It is going to take some time, but I want to finish it, so it should be done before within the next several months, depending on how life goes.

This image was made for fun, but it convinced me that this film could look awesome.

Angel thought it would be cool to change the lightsaber colours. So he made a mockup.

Angel surprisingly made the interiors of Spaceball 1 look way better. If you don't like the grey walls, you will not like the fan edit.

Angel suggested changing the Castle in Druidia because the matte is soo horrible. I plan on seeing what I can do. I might be able to use the castle and add a moving background. Birds, clouds, blowing trees, etc...

What would you like to see done? Post and decide on it. Your voice is very important.

What is a gonk droids primary function? Do they follow you in case you need to throw garbage away.

In fact id like to play with the horizons there. the ships should be vertical and not horizontaly. Assuming and only that is a test pic and the battle can be more visible and intence.

Considering where the tower could be i could place it the the south section of the Eye so the battle is visible from down to up. Twisted dark side Twisted perspectives.

Also in the second pic fixed the light in the window. to match with the later shot.

Why doesn't it make sense? Check the scene where you see the one walking in the background after Luke has fallen from the AT-AT. Where did it disappear to? you should see it in the following shots but it just mysteriously vanishes. So i'm not just deleting them for deletions sake, as you put it. Agreed i may be able to keep the one shot earlier on, but change it height, but the one with Luke has to go for continuity sake

This is not related to Star Wars and I don't want to fill Ady's thread with this, but Angel here my tweak of a poster.

This poster was created mixing the colour pallets of the first 3 film's posters and a lot of tweaking. It now looks more like the Original Indy Trilogy's posters. For those who want the full version just PM me. Do what you like with it.

     Empire Strikes Back can wait. Just take all of the time you need, and then take some more time to take a break for a while.

I hated how Wedge said "That got him!"

he sounded too robotic. Maybe if it was sped up and pitch altered, it could be saved.

Cheers, thanks  for the nice coment!  The quick shot of the ties as they enter the Death Star after Lando and company. The bluescreen matts stick out so badly. ILM really dropped the ball on the color timing with that shot. I was thinking about complelety redoing that shot in CG.

 

 

I agree, that shot really bothers me. It is still amazing for how old it is, but it could use a revamp.

I actually thought about that for ROTJ, but not with that particular scene.  That scene still holds up pretty good ( IMO ), even today because the X-wing is moving really fast. So fast in fact that you cant really see the "matt" unless you pause the shot, like in your example. I will see what I can do what I get my desktop PC running again.

Ok Here is the new (much slower) one

It is a lot more choppy, but it isn't harsh on the eyes.

I'm planning to do a more radical colour correction in places, but it would be great to have a film to work with that's not tinted mauve throughout.

It's not that i'm too lazy to colour correct myself. I just don't know where to start.

Layers and colour balance in after effects my good friend. I just wouldn't try to do the whole film with one colour pass. Each scene should have their own colour correction. I practiced colour correcting still frames in Photoshop, after I got a good idea of how to do it in after effects. After Effects is an uber epic badass version of Photoshop in some respects. Instead of a photo, it is video.

This is my mockup of the Death Star reveal. Add it to the list 005 ;)

It is just a short little demo I did, nothing too fancy. It is a little too fast.

Yes, The rebellion was a "keep it on the hush" movement. I highly doubt there would be that many. I can understand people coming into the movement after the battle of yavin, or even people from cloud city.

It really was too rushed. I will take a stronger alliance, but I cannot take the speed of the empire's destruction. It is cinematic, but it needs to be really terrifying. I get on the edge of my seat for movie's I have seen 50 times. ESB to this day, gets me on the edge of my seat.

I could do some mockups like I did in the old days. I really have a great idea. I really cannot wait until Adywan has his ROTJ:R thread so we can see what his vision for the film is going to be.

What is the point in wearing armor when laser blasts go right through it?
