We have been seeing a lot of new trailers for new movies. Which ones are you definitely NOT going to see, and why?
starting it off:
Percy Jackson and the Olympians
Why? Because it looks like an Americanized version of Harry Potter. Kind of like the Monkees being the American-manufactured equivalent of the Beatles. I guess Chris Columbus wants to make another film about an adolescent who will do "A great many things."
I know I like to rant and bitch about things, because I am good at it, but is there really any reason to keep doing the same thing for anything but money. It has an all-star cast, but I don't see it being convincing.
From what I have read, the reviews say that the book was good, but the film isn't. So, like Narnia, this adaptation fails to be anywhere near as good as the source material, and to avoid paying $10 for something horrible, I will invest that money in something else.
Why was Harry Potter surprisingly good? While it may have cut some things out, it stuck to the source material.

Batman 1989
And Batman Returns great movies,lol.
I don't think you can put any Tim Burton film in that category except maybe Nightmare before Christmas or Edward Scissorhands.
I found his batman to be too bizarre, though it was better than shusucker's batman and robin and overrated Forever.
The only Batman films i think are any good are batman begins, the dark knight and the animated film Mask of the Phantasm. Batman 1989 holds some nostalgia and the score by Danny Elfman is great, returns had Michelle Pheiffer as the standout role. The only thing i hate about the first film is the hammy acting of Nicholson you think he going to break into a "here's johhny" and The Prince music is out of place where a symphonic score should have been used. Also The actress who played vicky vale was horrible. That same chick was in never say never again, lol.
Tim Burton has his moments, I just don't see how he is this genius that every pimpled gothic teen makes him out to be. From 1988 to 1999 (excluding Nightmare Before Christmas) he was a pretty good director. But anything since then is just a pointless screen adaptation for people who think still think he can do no wrong. His style hasn't changed, which isn't a bad thing, but his direction is dying. I like to see different, but I wouldn't mind seeing Tim Burton think outside his own box and do something with a good story. It would prove his worth, because I think what he is doing is hiding behind "different" as a way of cloaking his directorial skills.
In a nutshell, Tim Burton is a visual genius, but his stories are always so... awful. These wonderful visuals completely cloak awful plot. Like George Lucas's films of now, one doesn't say "Damn, that was a good story." one says "Wow, that looked good."
It seems to be the basic formula of supposed "artistic" films today. "Let's make them look as good as we can so people don't realize our movies suck."
And also, if he is going to make a screen adaptation, he could at least respect the source material. Though I will say that Sleepy Hollow would have been very boring to do so.

Y'all have convinced me. I'm going to give Blade Runner another pass or two.
The Final Cut redeemed the film for me. I bought it to enjoy the visuals, but I didn't think I would end up adding this film to my top 10 list. The original was good, but like a novel that has too much going on, I just lost interest. The editing makes the film more filmy. It cuts out the pointless and keeps the important.
This was the one instance that I liked the Director's cut better than the theatrical.
The trailer was amazing. Your first trailer wasn't as convincing, but this trailer makes me eager to see this very soon.

I was thinking maybe this image:http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Koth_Melan could be over layed onto someone in the background preferably in the shadows (spys and all..). This image originally came from the SW CCG card which takes live action images (I actually have this card too).
Shadows of the Empire was a great project. I think it dominates the prequels. I would even drool a little bit, if we could see the outrider in the Endor battle. Even if it was just a single frame from a long distance.

A note on that... we may have a line on Ray Park... *fingers crossed* =D
Ray was the only reason I still watch TPM. Darth Maul should have lasted throughout the series. He was definitely a good replacement for Vader for the time being.

Making the floor glossy like we see in the establishing mattes/shots.

that floor is a little dirty. needs some polishing.
aside from that, awsome mock ups vaderios. i like the idea of seeing the death star cannon, but like you said, it's at a weird angle. unless the area they're in is extremely small compared to the cannon.
Well, I would prefer clean floors, but George was smart in making the universe a used one. I think they would've at least had a buffer for old Mr. Palps.
I guess you like The Untouchables then. Just take a look at what technology has proven. For once Eye didn't shoot first.
Kubrick's films can be pretty enjoyable, but I really don't see them as masterpieces. It seems like he tried to be looked at as a genius. I always saw him as a great innovator in the pre-modern age of film.
Godfather is the number one film on my list of great movies I hate. I gave it a chance, but I never really understood it's popularity. The only thing I can praise it for is the acting, aside from that the story is dull. I can also praise it for destroying the mafia genre. Let's face it, Godfather has been remade and remade and ripped off countless times. I don't understand the thrill in it. I have been shunned by friends for not liking it. I must have a deformity or something, because I am the only one who hates it. Even Roger Ebert loves it and he doesn't like anything.

Thanks DE i missed that :)
I owe you one ;)
Also From Bingo to Bingo, to all of you..
Make that crap set more like ANH.. red or without red
-Angel
It is very funny. It looks very much like 1977 Star Wars, but it looks newer than the original ROTJ. Good god, that is a black hole inside a black hole.
Way to add life to that set.

Common Sense (where did that one go?).
My Teddy.
Yes to those ones especially!
I miss intermissions at the movies, especially during movies as long as LOTR/AVATAR when you need more popcorn or need a pee.
I agree. I was dumb when I watched Fellowship. But when TT and ROTK came out I didn't buy any popcorn or coke.
I know that LOTR needs some colour correcting.
Well we know that lucas likes the colour blue. So he would be in your kitchen. Spielberg would want chilled monkey brains.
Hey!!!!!!!!! I didn't start a war.
So that's how it is gonna be Frink!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Have fun. I don't care what you post as long as it isn't too offensive.
: )
It is going pretty good. I just got back from Nashville, so I now I am going to get back to working on it tomorrow.
SEXUAL CHOCOLATE!!!!!!!!!!
George likes to keep his planets pretty basic. It is like he says "Ok the first one is going to be in a desert, the second is going to be on an ice planet, and the third is going to be in my back yard. "
I will try to get something in by Tuesday. Right now, I am in Nashville using my mom's computer.
My favorite George pic
