My Wish as a Star Wars and Indiana Jones fan. George Lucas please stop destroying Star Wars and Indiana Jones. Anyone else feel the same way?

As of today I am officially caught up on Clone Wars (except for the pilot movie, which I am still putting off for a while), and the show has continually exceeded my expectations. The show delves into a lot of dark and complicated territory that not even the original Trilogy did that's handled quite maturely, and on it's got some very nice animation that is probably the best I've seen in a CG TV show. On top of that, it's peppered with references and plots that relate to the EU, like the Death Watch Mandalorians and the Emperor's Hands (read: Mara Jade). Looking back, I wish that I had not written the series off just because of how negatively the pilot was recieved.

I still expect the pilot to suck because they essentially took 4 TV episodes and cobbled them into a movie (and on top of that the first season got progressively better as it went on, which means the movie was probably the four worst episodes), but the show itself has managed to find a special place in my Star Wars geek heart.

I have to agree. The show was awful in the beginning, but it has become very interesting, and that is an accomplishment for a television show. I don't catch it very often, but it is leagues better than the PT. I need to watch it more often. I can actually stand Anikan now.

I think the show is good because George doesn't write or direct the episodes.

I stand by my impression of the Movie and a few episodes in. I guess anybody over 12 did this

But it is good, once you get past Jar Jar. The writing is so much better. And unlike the prequels, they don't use phrases that have been beaten to death. It seemed like George's only way to connect the 2 sagas.

I look forward to the next season, which is rare for me, because I hate television.

I agree that de-bluing can be taken a bit too far in some instances. If you take too much out, you run the risk of making a shot look bland and removing the "cold" feeling of outer-space. Obviously the 2004 DVDs took it way too far (and was probably unintentional), but leaving a little bit in some shots of the cleaned up versions isn't a bad idea IMO. I still think all the TIEs should be gray, though. :p

On that note, let's do Avatar Revisited next... ;) Where the Na'vi will be grey. XD

"If I want to paint my house green, even though everybody says I should paint it red. Guess what? I'm gonna paint it Jar Jar."

jar jar is the most hideous shade of paint EVAR... =P I'd burn down the house if it was painted that color. XD

Well, Jar Jar only comes in a special edition paint. One that is a flame retardant.

Your vinyl record collections

The majority of my vinyl collection is made up of 12" dance singles from around 1992 to 2000. It currently lives in the loft, and my decks reside in the garage. One day, when the kids are a bit older, I'd like to get it all out again and rediscover my collection.

Yes, you should worry about the kids. I ruined most of my dads records back in the day. I loved the music, but I just didn't think vinyl records would scratch. LOL

Hey there,

I've been an avid ady-thread follower, and now I've found out about this edit. I know you said you wouldn't do any sound editing. But please consider this:

When the crew-member get's slashed during the Schartz-fight, PLEASE add the original Wilhelm-scream?

I'm looking forward to the end result. And now that I've taken the small effort of creating an account, I might be more lippy from now on ;-)

Cheers,

Welcome man. I will definitely take that into consideration. I love the Wilhelm-scream. There will most likely be a Wilhelm-scream in the edit. There is already one in the original, but I will add new ones.

"I goddamn near lost my nose. I like it. I like breathing through it. And I still think you're hiding something."-best Jack line ever.

I have that movie on DVD. When they remastered it, they actually did it with respect. This movie looks like it was made in the 90's now. I am glad they used the good remaster for TV. How come a certain science fiction movie can't get the same respect.

I know its been out while but, Sherlock Holmes.   I can tell by the trailer it is nothing like the books.

It was surprisingly good. It isn't an adaptation of any of the great mysteries in Conan Doyle's series, rather than a continuation.

And for once Dr. Watson isn't a clumsy idiot like all of the other unfaithful adaptations. He is as helpful as he was in the books.

While it doesn't use any particular book as the story, it does have some great allusions to many of them.

The trailer only shows the action and never shows anything that made the film good. This movie has action, but it isn't constantly in your face.

This movie caught me off guard and I will go as far as saying that it is the best movie I have seen in 5 years. 10 if I really think about it.

Most people would say that it didn't follow the books, but it is the first that actually showed Holmes and Watson as they were written. The characters are not different at all.

"Alice in Wonderland" See above, and TOO EFFEMINATE

Hmmm....

I rest my case.

Looking at all of the production artwork, I can't help but think that Tim is stealing work of the David Stoupakis. And his name is nowhere in the production credits

And here is the poster for AIWL

Looks like a thievery to me. Look at the baby with the top hat and bow tie then look at Johnny Depp, then look at the rabbit on the poster compared to the rabbit on korn's album cover.

Or Ady (or whoever) just gets rid of the stupid beak; I always thought that the beak was a thrown-in afterthought.  If anything was to be done, I would try to animate the rows of teeth to actually close/constrict like an actual mouth making biting movements and something to show that it is anticipating the meal above.

A good example is the sarlaccic creature near the end of the TV miniseries THE ODYSSEY with Armand Assante (at 5:45 of part 10 and the beginning of part 11).

I would be really neat to see it spin those teeth in the manner of a blender. That would make it more intimidating. Sort of a rip off of the Langoliers, only not as horribly animated.

ABC, is there a mix of Bounty for Captain Solo/Attacking a Star Destroyer that doesn't have the buzz during the bassoon solo? Every version I have ever heard had it.

 Hahaha ! :)

... What looks like a buzz (I concur), is in fact... A cello !

As I plan to redo that track from the beginning you just gave me an idea: I may try to make it sound closer as it is located on the right channel. I think it sounds too far. But it's not a promise, we'll see...

Now that it is cranked I can hear it is a cello now in the back, I can hear that they used buku rosin. Whoops, good ol' analog recordings capture so much more than digital.
