That looks great Ady. The colours definitely feel more natural. I can't wait to see what that looks like on my tv.

From what I understand his version has never been in any home video release format.  All that exists is the 1982 Hugh Douglas and the 2000 Corey Burton mixes.

Btw, Pastoral was on the "Magic and Music" episode of "Walt Disney's Wonderful World of Color", complete and uncensored.  I don't know of a source for this though.

For the life of me though, I can not figure out what is "racist" about the scene.  IIRC, they also zoomed to remove the animated nudity.

There is DVD footage of Destino, Little Matchgirl and One By One.  I've never seen Lorenzo anywhere at all (by I'm still looking).

I don't know about adding anything. I really intended for this to be the original with bigger sound. Maybe somewhere down the line I might make a Supplemental disk, but this one is going to be Fantasia 1, with Deems Taylor's voice and the re-recorded 1982 soundtrack.

I usually hate when people change history, but I guess it is my selfishness that would like to see something as grand as Fantasia, while hearing something even grander than the multichannel butchered mix.

I never intended to do anything with anything recent, all this new stuff has wonderful sound. The original Fantasia does not.

Basically I want the original Fantasia to sound as good as Fantasia 2000. This 1982 re-recorded soundtrack brings a lush sound that is completely in time with Leopold Stokowski's conducting. One might say that the life is gone, but I don't. I see it more as someone being guided by another's hand.

Oh, yeah, Fantasia.  I saw 2000 in the original theatrical run (in a temp-theater set up in a tent specifically for the event no less), and may or may not have seen Fantasia when I was very young.  I look forward to checking this out, and wish you luck.

Though I was never a big fan of it, I have to say that it is already in great shape. I am doing this with the original because of how old it is. Fantasia 2000 is high quality and still new.

I have the 1991 remaster on laserdisc, but it has two problems - the centaur scene is zoomed, and some of the narration is removed.

It wouldn't be to much trouble to ask if you wouldn't mind ripping the audio? It is ok if you don't want to, but if you do, stereo is just fine, that's what the edit will be. I need a good quality rip of Deems Taylors lines. My version is way beyond repair.

Yes, it seems that every release of the last 20 years has the centaur zoomed.

I have the 1991 version as well. The audio, aside from the music will be based off of it. The video will be from the 2000, edited to the 1991. The music will be the Irwin Kostal recordings.

I won't be able to fix the centaur scene. I just don't have any source material. Plus it is pretty racist LOL

The missing narration is something that will stay as well. I will do anything in my power to ensure Corey Burton's voice is not on this.

With the pleasure of viewing the beautifully remastered Blu Ray edition, it gave me more of an idea of what to do.

If your a purist, I suggest you ignore this thread and stick with your official copy.

I am sticking with the idea of using the Kostal recordings.

The Centaur scene will stayed zoomed, I actually thought it looked less distracting zoomed in on this release. Sorry, I feel something that racially negative isn’t worth the effort in salvaging. Maybe if Disney produced the scene, but I agree with their decision to cut it in the 60’s.

I will cut the film around the original Deems Taylor dialogue. Corey Burton will not be a part of the film. Even if it is closer to the roadshow version. I prefer consistency over historical accuracy.

Essentially this is the 1991 edit and dialogue, with 2010 picture, and 1984 re-recorded soundtrack.

I hope to be able to release it in 1080p, but it will take a while. I am going shoot for a job soon. Give me a break, I’m practically a kid, especially when Frink is in the room.

I won’t be working on it for a while. It seems like I’m scrapping it, but I’m not. This thing would be out right now if my computer could handle it.

Sorry to be frank, but this is how I want it to be. I plan on posting a trailer sometime in the future. It won’t be the finished product, but it will give you an idea of how it will look.

I will also exclude bonus content, and deleted scenes. If you want to watch them, they are on the official release which you should hopefully have if you plan on getting a hold of this release.

I watched the History channel yesterday. I admired my neighbors fireworks from my back porch. All in all, I would say it was decent. I used to have badass 4ths.

 That's the only Soundtrack (or music at all) I have to listen to at work.  It is indeed fantastic.
