anothe example of lucas changing things to appeal to a new generation lightsaber dueling styles of OT vs PT

HAL, stop misquoting the Plinkett reviews. 50% of the carp you have been saying has been said thousands of times, not just on this site. The other 50% of what you have said, I couldn't understand. Given your reputation for beating a dead horse, I didn't need to.

Clearly, I doubt you hate the prequels as much as you say you do, otherwise you would have an original opinion on the subject.

I think you just hate the movies, because a lot of us do. I really couldn't give a big steaming pile of shaving cream about them. They don't anger me, like they do everyone else. George forcing them down our throats does. Then the fact that he acts like the Original Trilogy was inferior, and we shouldn't get to see it, because it is the one we actually like.

Hell, you can't even find decent memorabilia any more, without sifting through loads of prequel garbage.

ATTENTION: Dayv needs our help
Time

I truly believe DAYV. I don't know what happened, but the lord wouldn't be happy with me if I turn my back on somebody in need. Regardless of whether DAYV is lying or not, the fact of the matter is, he might be telling the truth.

I think everybody needs a chance, if he is lying, well it's money gone, if he is telling the truth, it is goodwill given.

You lose money, you can get it back.

You lose your life, you can't get it back.

A lot of people talk about how bad the world is physically, and how we need to take care of it for our children. Well, what kind of world are they going to live in, if we teach them not to trust anybody?

Robot Chicken Star Wars III Discussion thread

I often wonder if Lucas is aware of this, or gives his blessing simply because his kids like it.

I doubt he really gives a crap. He seems to be all supportive, but that is probably to draw in fans. He already has enough fans (most of us) mad at him, he doesn't need to lose more by revoking Robot Chicken poking privileges.

In the case of Family Guy, he has Seth MacFarlane in his pocket. Telling him that (Doubtful) "I TiVo every episode of Family Guy" was probably to get more fans as well.

"You're looking at this from the perspective of being defensive because kids in the park with a broomstick are pretending to be Darth Maul instead of Luke, and that deeply bothers you."

thats hogwash

what bothers me is the OT duels at least had a sense of realism to them where the PT was nothing more than 2 hr long power ranger episodes.

Aside from the overall overkill of saber usage in ATOC, I think the PT duels were the one thing that made them good.

If I had made ROTS though, I would have made the fight just as fast, but I would have Anakin be the clumsy, out to kill person, and Obi Wan the defensive master.

In the end, they both seemed to fight the same, their was no contrast until Obi Wan had the "High Ground".

"I was but a learner, now I am the master!!" should have been, "I didn't have the high ground, now I am taller!!". If we are going by what was represented in the duel.

Saying that the PT duels were shit is just foolish, yet it is your opinion. I would've hated TPM as a child, had it not been for how dynamic the duel was. To me, Darth Maul is the closest to an OT character you could hope for. He is a bad guy, we know it. He doesn't talk much, makes him likable.

AOTC gets no respect from me, the amount of Lightsabers on screen made the weapon unremarkable. Then Yoda's display of fanboy orgasm, saber twirling put a nail in the saber coffin.

In all honesty, it isn't the duels in the OT I like, it is how they are built up to the duels that make them good.

George Lucas Interview Circa April 1977
Time

Reading old George interviews is wonderful and informative, and you really get a sense of the genius behind the legacy. Then you realize half-way through that this is the same guy that made the prequels and you can't help but feel a little sad.

I love the George of old. It's sad that I am so mad at the George of now.

I am glad you typed it up, it was a good read.

STAR WARS: EP V "REVISITED EDITION"ADYWAN - 12GB 1080p MP4 VERSION AVAILABLE NOW
Time

Well my calumnious companions, I shan't take any sides, but what I will say is: TAKE THIS BICKERING TO OFF TOPIC!!!!

All in all, the worst we can do is start a pissing contest. It calls for no growth or progress at all. I don't care who does what, and how much or how little each member contributes. A contribution to the fan-editing world, good or bad, is a contribution nonetheless. I respect contributions, being somebody who has lots of plans without results.

I respect you all, don't loose that respect over something so petty.
