Indeed, Mark Hamill was in the dub of Castle in the Sky.

How could I forget Bebop? This is one of those shows that I would consider to go beyond the anime spectrum: it borrows so much from various different cultures and movie genres that it becomes universal. I'm happy there's a live-action adaptation in the works still, so long as they don't screw it up.

Like I've said before, Keanu Reeves will either be a great choice or a horrible choice. If he plays it cool it will be just fine. If he does his Neo/Constantine/Klattu way, it will suck.

This will be even harder to find, but I need an uncropped version of this picture. It is this exact picture, only it is a full body shot. It doesn't need to be terribly big, just not terribly small.

There isn't such thing, that's only a face shot when he's sitting, that image has been cropped from the sides, though.

You sure?, Because I am looking right at it on my old VHS of ROTJ.

Anime is good for memories of being a kid for me and not much else, I despise the generic comedies/action titles I didn't grow up with. Sometimes I even loathe the ones I did... ANYWAY, the point is Miyazaki goes beyond genre so not really.

I used to love Anime, but anymore Cowboy Bebop is the only one I still really like. I actually like it better as an adult than I did as a kid.

Now as far as Miyazaki, Castle In The Sky was really awesome. I think Mark Hamill was in it, if I remember correctly. It's been years since I saw it.

Outside of Miyazaki I really liked Otomo's Akira. I am pissed that a Live Action Akira is in the works. I being a huge Steampunk fan was disappointed with his approach in Steamboy.

My High School Experience Sucked
Time

My biggest problem with High School was George Bush's "No Kid Gets Ahead" program. I remember the years before that, Teachers would punish you for laziness. You were made an example of for no homework. Then Bush came along and teachers eased up on kids.

I started failing because of that. My high school teachers could hardly give a shit about the kids. I dropped out my 3rd year of high school because I was tired of it. I think it was a horrible mistake, but I would've just continued to fail.

Nobody knew how to teach. I failed math horribly because nobody would bother to explain it in my line of thought. I need to know what something is for and why it does it. They wanted to go by their steps, and instead of learning how to do something, you were just memorizing their steps.

History was the worst class of all. I really love history, but not the way it was taught to me in history class.

I have learned more outside of school watching the History channel than I will ever learn in High School.

In the end, I am going for my GED then I am gonna work my butt of to go to a technical school.

Hopefully if I am blessed with children, the school system will be better.

Julie & Julia

Prince Of Persia: The Sands of Time

...Thanks to Dish, and my parent's need to watch EVERYTHING, we watched this wonder of modern cinema...
I was going to say "You have DISH Network, and your years of Starz just kicked in."

I'm wondering if we can use something like this to our advantage. Multiple reviews on the same movies because all of us with DISH have Starz...

Yeah, I like starz pretty well too. It's not full of crappy television shows like HBO and Showtime are. I got dish for movies, not shows.

Julie & Julia

This movie was very good, and a lot of it has to do with Meryl Streep's wonderful performance. I didn't expect such an attention-grabbing plot. I was never alive during Julia Child's heyday, now I wish I would have been. Meryl plays the part so naturally. I also have to give major props to Amy Adams' performance. This movie was really good, and this is my own judgment. Whether or not Ebert thought it was good does not matter.

It is films like this that redeem the mistakes of modern film-making. An excellent effort, that doesn't try to be artsy or grand, it's just good.

Prince Of Persia: The Sands of Time

Following a wonderful film like Julie & Julia is not a good position to be in on movie night. I tried my best to avoid the movie, because Uwe Boll literally destroyed any spark of interest I could possibly have for a video game adaptation. To add more to that, the trailers weren't doing this flick any favors. So I decided it best to never watch it. Thanks to Dish, and my parent's need to watch EVERYTHING, we watched this wonder of modern cinema.

I actually enjoyed what was presented to me. It wasn't as engaging, or casted as well as it could have been, yet I felt it had some good things.

I haven't played any of the games, so I don't really know much, but judging from what little exposure I've had to the games, I would say it did better than most adaptations. If you look past Jake Gyllenhaal's poor Persian portrayal, he does better than expected. I still think it was a bad casting decision. While actors Ben Kingsly, and Alfred Molina can basically play any ethnicity they need to, and in some respects, they add colour to the film.

The problem was that I didn't really care for what was going on. Dastan (Prince of Persia) is too much of a badass, so you can't relate to him, and you don't fear for him. He is going through trying times with no problems at all. Then he has the ability to fix any mistake he makes.
