This isn't it, but obviously from the same session.
This isn't it, but obviously from the same session.
Anything to make it look less like a place that could exist on our own planet. Dagobah never quite bothered me, not as much as Endor, my friggin backyard looks like Endor.
Dagobah serves it's purpose, Ady's addressed all its problems. Endor is what needs a makeover.
What kills modern Bond films starting with The World Is Not Enough, is how M based they are. Not saying it should stay with one mold, but come on, I start to nod off when ever Bond is in MI6.
That's just my opinion.
I barely ever watch the movies. The only time I watch them now, is if there is a great preservation like Harmy has done, or the occasional fan edit.
I'm still a fan, but I don't really feel the need to watch them. It's like I love Blade Runner, but I try not to tarnish it by watching it 50 times.

Well there's two images I wish I had never seen...
We aim to please.
Might not be appropriate or usable for that matter, but...
It was almost 30 friggin years ago. It's not a Mel Gibson or Michael Richards incident where they said it in the public eye. Paula wasn't really that well known at the time. We are a sorry world when we gotta peel back years to find dirt on people.
Gay people obviously can't be portrayed as anything but fashion loving clean freaks.
Seeing this makes me wonder why Harrison Ford never had a bout in comedies. He seems like he'd be fairly good at it, especially 30 years ago when he wasn't as grumpy, of course grumpy is still funny.
Composting real models into a film digitally gives much more amazing results than the composting of 30 years ago. I like how Ady is giving us a good mix of CGI, models, and what was there already. You still feel like you're watching Star Wars, it's just more refreshing.
I never knocked the Special Editions for making changes, it's the fact that they slapped in crap, and ignore some of the more important things that needed fixing. Ady is doing these things, and he isn't sticking in shit, just because he can.The films are maintaining their integrity.
Deep In A Dream - Helen Forrest with Artie Shaw and His Orchestra
Listening on vinyl. The best way to listen to Artie Shaw is vinyl.
If the movie pokes at their age too much, it will fail. If it tries to pretend they are not old, it will fail.
The date of his accident was quite a bit before Corvette Summer. The only thing that looked like it was in a car accident, was his hair.
I'm back to work on it. The audio mix is going to have to be in stereo, unless I can figure out a way to mix surround on my computer that doesn't allow that option.
I am getting some badass progress on the intro. I'm getting some great results. It's not going to be an awesome intro like Goldfinger or From Russia With Love, but it should do the job.

Why not try MEGA or rapidshare or I don't know what ?
OK, finally got it. Thanks! Quick question: Do I have to print the box on an A3 sheet? Because I don't have that kind of printer.
I pretty much had to set it up where you'd have to go to a print shop. You could make the basic box, and cut and paste each side. I haven't even made the thing myself.
Ok this should do it. Click on the images for what you want. Each cover comes with it's respective disk.
This bottom link is only for the box. Nothing else.

Coming soon!!!
In a vein similar to Harmy's restorations I have restored the film posters to the best of my abilities. They may not be 100% accurate, but they are very pleasing to the eye. I did my own take of the Definitive laser disc box set, though it is still quite different. I'm almost done with the discs, so they will be uploaded sometime in the next few days or so.
All art and images are pre 1997 material to make things more legit. The only images on the back that are not from Harmy's preservation are promotional images and what not.
It is a shame that ESF only promised that good looking "LD" box and never delivered the result ...
I started working retail after I said that. I'm gonna take another wack at it. I should still have the files. My computer is coughing up dust, but I should still be able to get something.
Well, I didn't have the finished files, but luckily, I had to original project files. So I finished them up along with the box. I lost the directions to how to make the box, but it's pretty self explanatory.
Here is the link. It's a large size, but they are large files.

Aaaaaand, it's dead again :p If you could please just post the box itself.
Thanks in advance.
Better yet, is it possible to post links to each cover and the box seperately?

I tried image shack, but for some reason, it messes the colors up badly.

Thanks, guys! Yes, sadly, I know it's late. Plus, while I am not sure how difficult it would be, I am sure it would be very time consuming.
Still, here's what I had in mind. As I said, a bit more subtle than here but you get the idea:
What's wrong with the stormtroopers is that their armor is very polished and reflects various kinds of light sources, but not the bright flashes of their blaster carbines. Also, their lenses look like cheap opaque plastic (which it is, I am sure). Polaroid tends to be more reflective.
Anyone, just wanted to share. :)
Forgive the crudeness of what I did.
It's not perfect, but not horrible.

I wasn't a big Deftones fan, but I liked a couple of their songs.

I think the only sports movie I have ever liked was The Sandlot. And that's mainly because it was less about baseball and more about kids bonding over misadventures. Sports movies have never worked for me once I became an adult.
(Shaolin Soccer doesn't count.)
I agree. It reminds me of my childhood in some ways, even though I wasn't alive in the 60's. T
I just wonder if Ady is gonna work on the new trilogy if it sucks.

... 69.
I've always planned on dying in my late forties (probably from lung cancer), so that I never have to get old. But suddenly, I feel like it might be worth it to hold off until the age sixty nine, just so I can continue to be inappropriate long after my death. I can just imagine kids reading my tombstone, figuring up my age, then chuckling to themselves for year and years to come. I do want to be cremated though... so, I'm not sure how that will work (the idea of being preserved and buried is really disgusting to me). I might have to work out the kinks closer to the time...
You live your life like your gonna die young, then you find yourself 60 years old, aching and wishing you would've taken better care of yourself.

So, I figured out a way to make my official 2004 and 2006 SW DVDs look way cooler; I took the inside leaflets and simply placed them over the horrible photoshop mess of the original covers:
Does anyone have these images in high definition? Even just scans of those leaflets would do (I can't scan them myself just now) but a better source would be preferable.
Excellent idea. I did the same to mine. Yep, I make covers all the time, but never print them out, so excellent free way to fix that ugly mess. Though they never leave the box.
Definitely gives it more of a retro artistic look.
Django Unchained
I'm a huge fan of the original and most Spaghetti Westerns I've had the pleasure of seeing. Films like the Dollars Trilogy, or Death Rides a Horse, Sabata, Once Upon A Time In The West, and so on.
This new film has very little to do with Franco Nero's character of Django. Only thing they share is name, theme song, and Franco Nero, though Franco is now a camero character.
Tarantino was attempting to make an homage to the Spaghetti Western genre, whilst adding a Blaxpoitation element. Shame though, this film could've used a Jim Kelly type actor. Not hating Jamie Foxx's performance though.
I had fun watching this movie, but it feels like Tarantino sort of slapped this one together. Sure, it screams Tarantino, but it just feels like he was trying to fill those expectations.
This movie doesn't apologize for anything, nor should it. Do I feel that it's racist? Not really.
Part of the problem I have with it, is it goes from Sergio Leone to Mel Brooks. The two never blend.
You get your Spaghetti Western, but the meatballs are soon replaced with beans and Blazing Saddles.
The thing that really saves the movie from ADD hell that it is, is the wonderful acting. Leonardo Di Caprio and Christoph Waltz really put on a great show. Samuel L Jackson does what you expect from him. Jamie Foxx does pretty decent, really glad they didn't get Will Smith like they had planned. Then it would've been Wild Wild West 2.
Let's get to the music. This time around, Tarantino isn't using music that works. He is using music for the sake of slapping shit on top of his film. The theme song for Django really didn't work in Django, not gonna work in this one either. Then he shoves the "His Name Was King" theme song in the middle of the film. Then boom, let's shove some gangsta rap in there. Pulp Fiction's soundtrack was all over the place, as was Kill Bill's, but hey, it worked brilliantly. Ennio Morricone has never been so out of place in a film as this.
Looking past all this, I still had fun watching it. I just can't call it a Spaghetti Western.
6/10 meatballs
I watched it because Spike Lee bitched about it, so it helped me enjoy it more.
Lincoln
There's a reason Daniel Day Lewis has a wheel barrel full of oscars, he's damn good.
My knowledge of Lincoln has always been fairly decent, but not complete. So, I'll leave the discussion of it's accuracy to the people who know better.
It's amazing to finally see a Lincoln that doesn't look like a rubber puppet monster. Daniel performs in such a way that you feel like Abe himself is on screen. For an actor to blend that seamlessly in the role is something amazing.
The film is loaded with an absolutely amazing cast. I loved this movie. It didn't feel the need to rake up dirt like most modern films. It didn't paint Lincoln in a heroic light either. It showed him as a man.
