As always feel free to comment!

Wow, I gotta give that a view on my TV later on. A major improvement visually.

Marnie (1964)

The film that divides all Hitchcock fans. Some say it's the worst thing Hitchcock ever made, others say it's one of his crowning achievements.

I'm a huge fan of Hitchcock's 50's and early 60's films. I'll honestly say I loved Marnie, and I feel it fits in perfectly with Hitchcock's other films of the era. What more do people want? I don't think it's his greatest film, I don't have the guts to decide what his best film was, but I think it definitely deserves more praise as one of his greatest films.

Really enjoyed Sean Connery in the film, as usual he stole the show with a smirk.

No rating, I'll just say you're a fool to call yourself a Hitchcock fan without at least watching it. I thought it was classic Hitchcock.

Cool, I so badly want to see a peak at the rest of the saga.  I find it funny, I get more excited about the Revisited saga then the idea of the new films.

^ Hit the nail on the head there!

Me as well. I guess in a logical way of thinking, I'm more excited knowing  the movies are in good hands with Ady. While I respect JJ Abrams and absolutely love Kasdan, I don't see them as being entirely flawless. In the end, I want Star Wars to be Star Wars, but still be their own. I don't want him to go all Super 8 on it, and force nostalgia to work, it should be natural.

I'm not really worried, because I'll probably always consider Star Wars a trilogy. In the back of my mind I'm hoping that will be changed either by what Ady does with the prequels, or Kasdan and Abrams do with the new trilogy. I don't hate the prequels, not at all, they are a hell of a lot more enjoyable if you just take them for what they are, even though the politics gets boring at times. Sorry, I start to ramble when I've had to many vodka gimletsss.

I tried the exact same thing you did a couple of years ago. It's not to hard to fix geonosis in photoshop frame by frame, but fixing the entire scene would take an unimaginable amount of work.

I guess it could be possible shot by shot, but even then I don't think this project is here for those kind of colors.  As long as I atleast fix red tint in the image, it's probably okay.

Yeah, removing it's harshness should do the trick. If it had been on the opposite side of the color wheel, it would be an easier job, but George decided to slap damn near skin tone on the whole scene.

Hmmm. The video is really, really blue - there's no white at all, and everything looks blue-ish. Somehow, what used to be white is also blown-out looking, but it might have been blown-out in the original?

The still might not be a great color-reference...

It's not what I'm using for this project, I just wanted to see what the shot would look like in motion.

It might contradict a route you are going with the edit, but could you make Obi Wan less of an asshole when they are being chained at the arena. Either that or you could keep him an asshole for Anakin's turn. The films work where Obi Wan is an asshole, going a different route might be welcomed.

I just feel like Obi Wan and Anakin aren't being much of friends. Ewan acts like Alec Guinness around everybody else, but when Anakin is in the room, he turns into his bitter grandmother. I keep expecting him to tell him to take out the trash.

Return of the Jedi: Radical Re-Edit (Released)
Time

Really, really enjoyed this edit. You're editing of the Jabba parts is what sold me. The subtitles actually made Jabba more, gangster. The lines were scumbaggy enough that Ray Liotta or Harvey Keitel could've said 'em. You cut and arranged the whole sequence to be much faster, and more Star Warsy. I didn't miss Boba Fett either.

That long drawn out scene on the bridge with Luke and Leia trimmed brilliantly.

Liked the inclusion of bits of music that were cut from Empire and Jedi. Reminded me of Shadows of the Empire hearing the intro bit.

All in all, this was a real treat. Some fine visual adjustments here and there, but a solid edit all around.

Blu-Ray and other HD box size STAR WARS covers
Time

Ok, sorry for the wait, I put both the template and the actual box in PSD form so you can mess with the layers and change things you want. The measurements should be correct, I spent a while trying to get it just right. In the end, either my measurments or the viva people are wrong if anything isn't just right. The problem with blu ray cases is the difference from one to the other. I used my Prometheus case as a guide as well as online sources. So if you make this case, try to go with viva elites.

I know why the case was wrong before, I'm not gonna say what, because it was a derp moment.

Wow, that last one with Obi Wan looks amazing. The CGI backgrounds could pass for a very well done matte painting. I've been watching a lot of Hitchcock films as of late and that shot looks very Hitchcockish. Throw in James Stewart. That would be an interesting film. Star Wars starring James Stewart, Directed by Alfred Hitchcock.

I see what you mean by limiting the view of bad CGI in shots and making good CGI more noticeable.  I'll have to try it out, but the shots you do post appear odd, and not filmic, though that's probably stemming from using basic filters to process the image.

Yeah, the problem being, I can do amazing visual work to screencaps, but to try to do the same thing, I lack the processing power and the sheer skills to pull it off in motion.

I recently made an edit of The Hanging Tree for my own enjoyment, and while it looked really good in Vegas, it was washed out on my television. Of course, I wasn't trying to make it look like a masterpiece either, just trying to undo some of the horrible technicolor yellowing.

Angel who I think disappeared used to post some screenshots on here that would make your jaw drop, but he'd never tell anybody how he got the results.

I fixed a lot of the problems. In the end, you still need to print a big image, but that's a given.

I used VIVA Elite case dimensions as my basis, and did mm and inch measurements for international people.

I'm going to upload the box a template together. I'm going to do some quick double checking, but to anybody who has the previous box file, deleted and forget it, because it was messed up.

And that's also the sound your teeth make when you bite into it, judging from the chocolate I leave in the fridge.

Have you ever had an andes, york peppermint pattie, or junior mint from the freezer? It's like heaven.

I avoid the ice cream aisle, because they sell mint chocolate chip ice cream, and I cannot resist. It's amazing.

John Williams CONFIRMED for Episode VII
Time

Hey, it's me. said:

Hopefully he will emulate the brilliance of Empire and Raiders. My 2 personal faves. Just take a moment to listen to the the score when the falcons being chased in Empire and into the Asteroid field. Exceptional. Williams at his best. (Makes the hairs on my neck stand up) Episode VII needs that type of stuff.

The Indy Trilogy was amazing. His work on Temple of Doom is what makes me love that movie so much. That music that plays when Indy frees the slave children is epic.  Raiders is a better overall soundtrack though. From the first fading in notes of the intro piece to the end credits fanfare.

John Williams CONFIRMED for Episode VII
Time

His work on the first Harry Potter films was quite good in my opinion. He managed to make some very memorable motifs. The great thing about bringing back the Star Wars characters like Luke, Han, Leia, and Lando, he can bring back their motifs.

Each character had their own, it's easy to work around a melody you've already made.

Joel McNeely made a very good soundtrack for Shadows Of The Empire. It used the familiar motifs, but it veered of in it's own direction, while remaining William's esque. I'm shocked Fan Editors don't use that soundtrack for prequel edits.

They just need to tell John Williams to emulate Holst, Mahler, and Stravinsky. We'll get an amazing soundtrack. That's essentially the way the 77 soundtrack was made.
