Good news. I like ID. All the ID edits I have seen have been very top notch. Seeing as Kingdom of the Crystal Skull was so horrible I know ID will definetely use the crap filter for this one. I just wonder how much of the original film was left in the ID edit LOLOLOLOL

I am just soo excited. I have waited for a long time to see the original Star Wars in a higher quality than what I am used to.

Why is the ESB duel so much better than the high speed epicness of ROTS. I don't know. Darth Vader was so scary the first time I saw that. That duel made you worry for poor Luke. The ROTS duel was just fast. I had the feeling that they just wanted to bump sabers. Darth was hiding in the shadows and fog in the bespin duel popping out of the darkness nearly testing Lukes power. It was like he was test driving Luke to see if he was worth all of the trouble. "If he survives I will take him to mean old Mr. Palpy. If he dies well I guess I will invite Leia into my meditation chamber and let her witness the fire power of my fully armed and operational battlestation IN MY PANTS HAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!!!! It is a good thing I only have one child."

I don't think any of the lightsaber duels had the eye candy that the bespin duel had. Well TPM duel was pretty badass. Actually it was the best part of the whole PT.

Your palpatine colour correction makes it more convincing that his ROTJ state was caused by aging and living off of his dark side powers. Way to go.

Well. I didn't like Batman Begins. And Christian Bale was annoying as batman. He grunted the whole damn movie. But it is my opinion. I would like another Batman movie as long as Johnny Depp isn't in it like some of the rumours are saying. But it has to be as good as Batman 2.

I am wondering. Once you are done with the transfers do you plan on doing any video enhancing to them. It really doesn't matter to me. Anything is better than the VHS's and the GOUT

It won't be hard to pull off neither. We just need someone who has a vader suit. If we cant get a tall person then we can make them appear tall with magical effects like they made Robbie Coltrane who is fairly short look like a giant in harry pothead.  All that needs doing is treating the actual footage as a matte. And trying to paint or cover up Ani.

Quick little mockup I did. The first is the dream sequence. Adding Vaders breathing will make it even better. The second is Darth Vader Going to the Jedi Temple as Roccondil Rinon suggested. The bottom is vader being vader. the bottom 2 are after the mustafar duel. We think Ani is dead.

Anybody gotta vader suit? LOL. We could get some help from the 501st seeing as they have hundreds of people who were vader suits. I think Anikan should fear vader. In his dream sequence. Just leave the Padme in pain part and maybe add a red blade pointed towards her face then add some vader breathing. So we have things we could use. So Anikan fears Padme dying at the hands of Vader. It would take some shifting around but I think we could fix this rubiks cube of a film. We need more Vader. Just not Anikan becoming Vader. When Anikan is burning in the fires of Mustafar let him close his eyes then have an establishing shot with sad music and take it from there. DO NOT SHOW PALPS COMING TO HIS AID. Palpy should not be seen until ESB. Is there any possible way to make Palpy suggest the threat of vader.

I'll watch ROTS all night and pay close attention. Taking notes I will see what can be done. I suggest we all do the same even though ROTS is horrible.

Transporter 4 actually scratch that Jason Statham shouldn't be allowed to act in any film ever again

Spider Man 4 they shouldn't have made 1,2, and 3.

Batman III Nolan's vision of Batman was only good with Heath Ledger. So Heath is dead and therefore he should not make any more.

Exorcism/Haunting Movies I think the horror genre is dying. I don't get scarred when I watch a horror film anymore. But what I can't stand is the numerous Exorcism movies. I don't think possessions are scarey enough. Let's get back to zombies with face melting scenes.

REMAKES/LIVE ACTION CARTOON REMAKES The countless number of beloved classics we have in this life seem to get completely fucked up in films today. If the original is good we can just leave it at that.

Nobody in Hollywood has an original thought these days. It is like they say "hey people like this LETS MAKE MONEY OFF OF IT"

So they go with there wheelbarrels in hand and they slap the name of a classic and do a total remake. Then they roll down to the bank and fill there wheel barrells up and look for another classic to make a quick mill on.

I would love to have the emperor be in his throne room on coruscant sometime in the film. Maybe to keep him turned around looking at coruscant and have vader looking upon him. Then he arrives on the death star. It would be neat to just see another environment in the film instead of sand,trees,and stars.

Posting in here about an awesome laserdisc transfer is only going to result in two things
1. People not taking you seriously due to prior occurrences
2. A curse for you to start something wonderful and then not finish it

Many of us still feel the pain of X0 and still want to believe the day that something significant will come of it though

Even film to dvd projects have been a kick in the face to all of us. You just have to promise you will do it. I will fully support you and I will be willing to help on it too Aleksbmw.

We welcome any transfer with open arms. But as CompMovie said please don't leave If your plate is too full like some preservationists please warn us if you don't want/can't do it.

Welcome to the boards. And don't be afraid to ask anybody for help with colour correction or video enhancing (DJ is making the GOUT look pretty good). We are dying for a project like this.

Dr. M. The PiF thing is a little broken here in the U.S. for the Saga, but I'm trying to un-screw-it up. However, PiF hasn't been in effect on the non-SW stuff. There was very little interest comparitively speaking but they are floating around. PSYCHO_DAYV, I'm still wrestling with Kill Bill vs The Matrix for Contest 2. I currently have more ideas with Kill Bill floating around in my head though Dr. M gave me some bitchin' ideas on The Matrix months ago that seem apropos. As for Contest 1, I intend to submit the prequels and Hannibal with the help of the PIF system, and will be submitting two bonus discs that sort of accompany the saga re-edit as a whole as bonus materials for the saga. Boba Feta has done GREAT cover art for I, II and Hannibal that he's agreed for me to submit. He gets all the credit there, though. In the off-chance I actually win something, I think I'll have it donated to hurricane relief. I really am not out for personal gain on this (though a public apology from George Lucas for the Prequels would be a nice prize in itself ).

And finally, Jay (or whomever) thanks for moving this thread to the "Preservation and Fan Edits" group to accompany the SW thread. I'd originally listed this in OFF-topic when the thread was dedicated to SW transfers only. Since this thread group has changed focus, I appreciate this thread being included where it is now.

The bottom shot feels more human. The above shot looks like a world that couldn't support human life like earth in Wall E. I am an outdoors person and I lived in Louisiana for about 4 years. Louisiana was the flatest place on the planet so all I saw was buildings and the sky. About every afternoon in the summer time looked just like Angel's colour corrected picture. So it works. Now I have never lived anywere that was purely orange, and I have lived all over the country. To me, Angel's colour correction looks like my old neighboorhood in the future.

Adywan, Sorry to ask this way too early, But what do you plan to do with the rest of the saga Mainly the prequels to make Darth Vaders line in ESB about being Luke's father more of a suprise? I hate the fact that George Lucas completely forgot about the OT when making the PT. Why did he have to spoon feed us?

I got the window online and tweaked it a bit. . For the movie someone should just do a new matte.
