Ok. I see how it is. LOL just kidding.
But when you get back I want to see some badass mockups.

It reminds me of Sin City actually. BD's looks like Sin City and mine looks like 300 LOL. But we need to do something. Work your magic Angel. Add a sun to the background of the throne room. You can do it.

Wasn't there an HD broadcast of the theatrical cut of TPM way back when? 'Cuz if there was, that would mean there's an HD master still sitting on the shelves in the vault at LFL and they wouldn't have an excuse to not include it in the eventual blu-ray.
Talk to adywan. He is using the HD broadcast on his colour corrected theatrical version of TPM. So it is the one you saw in the theater not that pink piece of shit you buy in the store
Definitely. This movie should have those pit of the stomach moments. We as viewers needed to fear for the lives of our heroes. There was tension at the end of the first 2 films. Return Of The Jedi there was really no rebel losses. The imperials went out like bitches. I hope ady makes the fleet very large and we get to see 2 tie fighters to every rebel ship. We need to see some xwings blowing up like crazy. I want to see the millenium falcon having a hard time shaking off the ties on its rear. Little things like that will make it alot better. The film though happy and fun, isnt going to have the problems the prequels have. ROTJ is the opposite of the prequels. ROTJ has good acting no high tension moments. The prequels had horrible acting and had alot of high tension moments. So ROTJ can be saved.
Since Dune was mentioned I will have to say that it would be the perfect film to remake. I just wouldn't want it to be made here in the US. We fuck up to many great things. So it would have to be made in the UK or France. While I love the movie a whole lot. It just doesn't have the pow that it should have. The film is just to 80's music videoish. I think Luc Besson could do it. Of course he did Fifth Element which was badass.
ABC to make you feel a little better. When I had to reformat my hard drive and re install windows the only thing I saved was the soundtracks you sent me and photoshop projects.
They were just too valuble for me to let them go.
I would definetely be up to seeing The emperors throne room in more than 2 colours LOL. I am sick of the blues. It would be neat for a sun to be behind endor and cause an eclipse in the middle of their duel. I like your mockup a whole lot. It is a good start. I would just like to let the audience know that there is a sun. In the scenes where it is night on endor it should be dark in the emperors throne room. In scenes were it is day it should at least be bright. But it still doesnt work. Were the rebels are, they can see the death star. When it is day on Endor a sun should be behind the death star but wouldnt that at some point coz an artificial eclipse (which would have been neat if they had used it) I beleive that the death star is hoovering around endor staying near its shield generator. I dunno. Just any new ideas LOL. We can toss these ideas towards ady when ROTJ R gets started. But keep up the brain juice because we are getting somewhere.
Well I wouldn't have the star that close because it would burn everything and be way too bright for too long. But adding any light whatsoever would definetely make the duel scene more epic. But a star would have to be pretty far away or endor wouldn't be worth living on.
Well Adys still has the same exact plot as every other version. His just visually dominates all other releases not to mention the sound quality. His colour correction was the best ever. Darth Vader sounds like friggin Darth Vader now. I love the duel (some didn't but I did) what a way to liven up that fencing contest LOL. The original though badass at the time could have been a little better seeing the uber awesomeness in the ESB duel. Ady gave us the high tension duel. I just hope and pray he lightens up the epicness of the ROTS duel.
Well here is my first mockup in about a week. This is just a tinker at ROTJ DUEL. After seeing the sun behind cloud city I just had to do that in ROTJ. This i made reminds me of blade runner and was my influence in the colouring. It was fun but hard so I don't think it will work in motion.
When I got ANH R I never touched my 2004 dvds again. They are just sitting on a shelf collecting dust.

At least I believe so (haven't seen any that had more (maybe adys ANH R thread but this one is taking the taco for ideas. ESB is alot of peoples favorite movie so it would only make sense that it would be so popular.
And like any sequel, more people are interested in it having seen the original. I didn't even know about ANH:R until someone posted on another message board I go to, and this was after it was released. I'm sure a lot of other people came here the same way.
I found this site like 2 weeks before ANH R came out by accident. I was looking for Hi Rez Star Wars posters in google and I found a gigantic ESB poster in the Hi Rez poster art section. So I added this site to my favorites. I came back about January to find more posters and then started reading some of every bodies posts and became really interested in the fact that nobody liked George Lucas' evil doings on the GOUT (which took me a while to figure out what that meant) so I said heck I'll join. Funny alot of people came because of ANH R but I found it by accident. I had no idea that people actually made fan edits of movies LOL aside from bootlegs. But now I am here talking about fan edits like I make my own LOL.
Agreed. The usuals are just getting bored. Really not too much is going to be said pertaining to ESBR until it is about to be released. So this thread is aside from the occasional idea, is becoming an off topic place. But I think this thread has set a record for most posts. At least I believe so (haven't seen any that had more (maybe adys ANH R thread but this one is taking the taco for ideas. ESB is alot of peoples favorite movie so it would only make sense that it would be so popular. When Ady does the prequels their threads will dominate the post count in this one. I am sure there are 100's of ideas of how to save or atleast improve the films.
I growing up with the old 1990's VHS boxset hated how darth sounded in ANH. It sounded like a walkie talkie. The DVDs I thought well it is a little better. Then on your revisited I nearly shat myself. I tried for a long time to do that. I used modulation added a little reverb which sounded good but YOU DID IT BETTER. Now Darth sounds like he does in all of the films. It is a shame that all of the dialogue in every version has that Tin-Can Telephone sound to it. But your version is like a new film with the original 77 charm.
When I was a child during about 94-95. I thought that George Lucas was the Mozart of film. I still do. He created something I knew I would never be able to witness but with 2 eyes I would get sucked into these movies. During the original trilogy I was not sitting on my living room floor with my elbows on the carpet and my hands on my cheeks. I was flying past Star Destroyers and shooting storm troopers. I was in the battle of Hoth dodging AT-AT's and laserblasts in Bespin. I with my 2 innocent eyes was for those moments, in Heaven. The garden of Eden was not a field of tall grass with waterfalls, it was the dark reaches of space aboard the Millennium Falcon.
Even during 1997 I did not know anything about the special editions. For me my 1990 Vhs boxset was as good as I needed. I honestly didn't care until I got a DVD player for my room in 2000. I wanted to see those films on DVD. I longed for the crystal clear picture that even my mother was given with her Gone With The Wind DVD. 2004 came and I finally got them. The DVD set I had waited for. I was stunned by the opening credits in A New Hope. I could see the stars and the gigantic Star Destroyer booming down the frame in anamorphic beauty. Until I saw the interior shot. Everybody's face was splotchy and Leia was purple. I was fine with that until the "Look Sir, Droids." scene with so much going on completely distracting the intent of the scene. I still wasn't bothered. What made me want to break my DVD was THE SCENE WHICH SHOULD NOT BE NAMED. I was ok with that even. 2006 came and so did another release. I couldn't possibly shell out for another set of DVDs. Luckily I had a wonderful friend who made the mistake I couldn't. He showed me the GOUT. I saw it on his Hi Def television. "What the hell is this?" I wondered. It looked like it was downloaded on YouTube. Could this be what I had waited for most of my life? Could this possibly be an attempt to as you English would say Take the piss? I was ashamed to be a Star Wars fan. Nobody but people older than 15 could possibly know what Star Wars used to be.
George Lucas did not rape my child-hood. He did however, crush my hopes like socks on christmas. We couldn't expect at least a 720p OOT release if George Lucas won't even release his pride and joy's in 1080p. I will keep my VHS's and laserdisc releases for my children but I will not watch the SE DVDs if I can't get a remastered original original trilogy release.
George, I understand why you made the special editions. I just don't get why you want people to forget the films that made you a cinema legend. George, I know you must have atleast taken a peek into this site at least once.
We don't hate you. We love your movies. I play music for people. That is what I do. Everytime I go on a stage and play my music I do it for the people. Everytime I hear any applause, it just lifts me up. George, That is what Star Wars means to us. It is our childhoods. Give us atleast a chance to relive our childhoods. I will continue to support anything you do, But please don't let us be left in silence.
I loved the running man (book). I agree when one reads the book, the movie is just weird LOL. I would love to see a good adaptation of Neuromancer. It was a great book. Another SCIFI film that should be remade is Starship Troopers. I love the book and I wish that they could have atleast followed it. I don't think the directors even read the book. They just said hey lets make a movie named after this cool looking book. They probably read the back of the book and just worked from there LOL.
Star Wars being remade is meh. The OOT shows a time when George Lucas was an innovative and proud director. It might be nice for some but I don't know. It would just be weird to see somebody else piloting the millenium falcon. Nobody can be Darth Vader like James Earle Jones. I saw the 97 Lost In Space movie and I liked it but the original was not burned into my mind like Star Wars was. To me ANH and ESB can be regarded as perfect. They stood the test of time. Look at the 1930's Popeye cartoons in Black and White, then look at the 50-60's version in full colour. The 60's version looked way better but Popeye just wasn't the same any more. Plus in some regions or versions Bluto was copyright haxed and they had to change his name to Brutus and make him fat.
I would watch Star Wars remade but I probably wouldn't like it. What I would like to see is animations with the original cast going on new adventures. See that millennium falcon blasting through the deep reaches of space.
I have actually thought of doing a Star Wars cartoon with completely new characters in the style of Titan A.E (No plans anytime soon I might just be fanticizing but nonetheless). It would be amazing to see atleast for me. Of course I would have to do it Non-Profit because GL or LF would say NOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!! in the darth vader voice.
I don't really like Carrie Fishers dialogue. I swear she says the exact same thing all of the time when interviewed. Harrison Ford would have been nice to hear *though I would fall asleep) but he was nowhere to be found. Mark Hamill Would have been really exciting to hear. He always seems pretty enthusiastic about talking into a microphone. It is a shame the poor man hasn't had as big of a break as Harrison Ford.
George Lucas as mentioned lies 80 percent of the time. I swear he sounds like he is making up some "tell your buddies" bullshit the whole time.
I wish they had an audio track for who you want and do not want to hear.
If someone could get their paws on a good long interview of Lucas before he became a Liar say Pre 1993 then we could use that.
Imperial Radio is a good one.
Rhikter said:EyeShotFirst said:Rogue squadron was just a mere copy of what was done on that level.
Really? I thought the Rogue Squadron battle was much more cinematic as opposed to the SotE version which was more arcady. Not that one is better than the other mind you, I just wouldn't call one a copy of the other.
...we are talking about "Rogue Squadron II: Rogue Leader" right?
Nope Rogue Squadron 1. for the PC and N64. Rogue Leader was a completely different game than the original. Rogue Leader was an amazing game. I wouldn't have even called it Rogue Squadron simply because it wasn't like the old game as in it was way better and gameplay was top. I am just saying that the gameplay on Rogue Squadron 1 was a complete copy of the gameplay in the first level of shadows of the empire. It was harder to control the speeders of course N64 controllers were good they just weren't built to last LOL. I bought so many N64 controllers I would be rich if I had the money in my pocket right now. I am not the only one who had joystick problems am I?
OK ya'll I was seriously joking about indy's hair. It only looked bad in the film because of the glows around it. Which makes me wonder why GL likes halos around people in his newer films. I know InfoDroids edit will be killer. I will watch all of the fan edits. I quit on making one simply because I don't have the time or the skills to do the work.
I always liked the shadows of the empire game for the battle of hoth level. That is the only game that has ever done it right. Rogue squadron was just a mere copy of what was done on that level. The flaps were so cool. So anything to Make them work.
Thanks bingo,
I am talking strongly about Adywan's re-visitations. He isn't doing anything involving the EU so that includes the novelizations.
1. Amadeus (The only film that deserved every Academy Award it received)
2. Empire Strikes Back
3. The Hitcher (damn that was a good movie I won't pick up anybody after that one)
4. Blade Runner
5. I am just going to say Indiana Jones as a whole
6. Caddyshack (that was just pure genius and it wasn't filthy like comedy is today)
7. Beastmaster (I liked it)
8. Predator (I watched it from the time I was little to now)
9. Lethal Weapon (I hate cop movies but the leathal weapon movies were all good to me)
10. Witness (I am just an avid Harrison Ford nut)
RoccondilRinon said:I appreciate the idea of keeping Vader's identity a mystery between ROTS and ESB, but the real problem with this approach lies in ANH: Obi-Wan refers to Darth Vader as "a pupil of mine, until he turned to evil." If we keep it unclear whether it's Mace or Anakin, this line gives it away. Indeed, no matter how we try to keep it a mystery, then this line will give it away, unless we're somehow able to give Obi-Wan multiple apprentices.
On a somewhat unrelated note, in the same sentence Obi-Wan calls him "a young Jedi named Darth Vader" — but it's established by the prequels that Darth is something like a Sith title. It would be quite possible to remove all references to the title in the prequels — IIRC it doesn't crop up all that often. Darth Maul is named once, and he could easily be renamed Maul or not named at all ("This is my apprentice... he will find your lost ship"). Dooku is only referred to as "Lord Tyranus", and I don't remember where Darth Sidious is named — again, Dooku and Maul tend to call him "Master" and the Neimoidians tend to call him "Lord". I don't mind "Darth" being a Sith title, but it does make Obi's line a little odd. You can explain it by saying that he's simplifying things for Luke and trying not to arouse any suspicions.
Let's make all sith jedi. Just remove references of the word sith. Revenge of the Sith just make the sith seem like a society who are extinct. And that all force users are jedi but some are good and some are bad. Making Palpatine the last of the sith. It could work. It wasn't until the prequels that the word sith started so we can just patch that up.
I like the idea of mace being a probable darth vader.
