LOL To all those who DO believe in me you will not be let down. 2007 is not that far off and soon enough the truth will be known to all.

Thank You!

Zion/Moth3r/Jay,

Can any of you confirm that Raul has been instructed to not post any images? I think it was only yesterday that Zion said (in another thread) that he would not stop Raul from posting images.

Thanks

First Impressions of the OOT ...

He's suggesting that they added the burn mark from red leader's missed shot to the side of the port when they show Luke's hitting the mark in either the 97 or 2004 SE.

And he says that the burn mark is there on this latest release of the O-OT.

Can anyone here confirm wether or not that burn mark was there originally, or when it was introduced if it wasn't?

I'm just going on memory here, but I'm pretty sure that's always been there.

Idea: The Original Star Wars... refurbishing?
Time
Lord Phillock,

This sounds almost exactly the same as Tellan's Lancer Project:
http://www.originaltrilogy.com/forum/messageview.cfm?catid=9&threadid=1434

You might want to check out his project to decide if yours will be much different.

Tellan is doing a lot of color correction and error fixing. I believe he was holding off on further work to see if the GOUT had any usable scenes.

Of course, one can never have too many versions of Star Wars

STAR WARS: EP IV 2004 REVISITED ADYWAN *1080p HD VERSION NOW IN PRODUCTION
Time
Adywan,

Nice job on the new opening sequence. Since you included the crawl and all that, I'm wondering if you changed something there.

The firefight between the blockade runner and star destroyer is a lot more impressive now. It's amazing how a few extra laser bolts can add so much.

I liked the first version of the Tantive IV explosion (although it did look a little like it was originally a circular explosion that you distorted). I loved the engine shutdown in the second version.

Having the Tantive IV lose stability for a second is an interesting idea, but something about your footage seems a little off. Maybe it's the perspective.

Personally, I think the best thing would be to have the explosion, camera shake, and engine shutdown, but no loss of stability. Remember, we see 3PO lose his balance slightly, not fall over.

And here's another idea I just had: When we see the Tantive IV being pulled into the star destroyer hangar bay, the camera is fixed on the Tantive IV. This has always bothered me, as it gives the impression that the Tantive IV is being still, while the star destroyer "parks" over it. Can you alter the shot so that the camera is fixed on the star destroyer as we see the Tantive IV moving into the bay?

Dr. M's Reinventing The Wheel Edition (PAL to NTSC+) (Released)
Time
I found the labels I used on Grisan's site:

http://kevin.alfahosting.org/Disclabels/index.html

The specific labels are "plainhope", "plainempire", and "plainjedi".

Before printing, I added a simple text label to each one in the "Episode I" font. For example, for Star Wars I think I added (on 2 lines):

Star Wars
Reinventing The Wheel

Sorry, I don't think I saved these. They should be easy to recreate.

2006 OT DVD: The Crawl on Star Wars

Someone already came to the conclusion that it was recreated. I can't remember which thread, but they took a screencap of the new one from the promo trailer for the OUT release that was on StarWars.com and compared it to a cap of the original crawl from Empire of Dreams, and the Star Wars logo receeded at a different rate.

Not so. The only thing that thread proved was that the crawl shown in the trailer for the OUT release was recreated.

Is this Vader from "ROTJ" or "Coneheads"? Anybody else see the conehead? Look closely at where
both heads are orientated in the frame...They look to be occupying the same space in the frame, it's just
the GOUT Vader seems to be stretched out a bit.

To be fair, this is not the exact same frame. Look at the shape of Vader's left shoulder.

Very true. I compared caps I made with PowerDVD to caps I made from VirtualDubMod and there is a clear difference. PowerDVD seems to want to rescale and recolor the image before it spits it out. What I always do when making caps is load the VOB file from the DVD into VirtualDubMod, select "copy source frame to clipboard", and then paste into Photoshop and save to the desired format - either 100% quality JPEG or PNG.

So Zion, is the above comparison by Red5 not accurate?

This is the most important issue with these discs, IMHO. If the PAL discs are upscaled from the NTSC master, all hope is lost.

Vigo, can you (or anyone else) give us a little visual demonstration of what you mean?

Sounds like an inside job. Citing the PiF tenet, my guess is its someone from the forums

That's what I thought too. It would really be a shame if that's true.

Possibly a dick, definately a liar. There is no way these things are costing him £5.49 to put together.

What about the cost of ELECTRICITY?

We should be glad he's not charging for the oxygen he's consuming while clicking buttons and putting covers in cases.

Then you want Dr. M's "Reinventing the wheel" transfer. It's a conversion of Moth3r's capture to the NTSC format.

Thanks for the info, Erikstormtrooper! Is this version anamorphic also? If so, I definitely need to look into getting that!!!

Yes. I believe it is anamorphic.
