The end of Star Wars?
Time
Zombie,

I think I understand how you feel. I've had my ups and downs with Star Wars. The prequels are a dim comparision to the original trilogy. I could go on, but I'm sure it's nothing new to anyone here.

However, I think you may be letting your cynicism get the better of you. I don't think this is the end of Star Wars (especially the Original Trilogy). In other threads, I've seen you post things to the effect that there is nothing new to discover in Star Wars, such as your out-of hand dismissal of "Luke's missed Death Star chasm throw" as well as your dismissal of the remote possibility that an advance copy of ESB was screened in some theatres.

This may sound naive, but I am amazed by the new things I'm continually finding out about the Original Trilogy. Like a month ago Trooperman dug up some old music by Korngold (sp?) that was an obvious inspiration for the Star Wars theme by John Williams. And I haven't seen Jambe's Returning to Jedi yet, but I'm sure there's some stuff in there I've never heard or seen before (FYI, I am 34 years old, and have been a Star Wars fan since I was 5).

I hope you don't give up.

Hyperspace: Good or bad?
Time
I haven't had a fan club membership since the middle of last year. I don't really feel like I'm missing anything.

The Insider magazine has had its ups and downs. Ever since the prequels, the Insider has been mostly about hyping the next movie, which I think is a very shallow approach. It's basically turned into Entertainment Weekly for Star Wars. Back before the prequels, the Insider was full of interesting retrospectives (Wonder Column) and thoughtful articles (like the article on the Lost Cut). If Titan can return to that, then I might get interested again.

But I will NEVER subscribe to the Insider as long as it's bundled with the way-overpriced Hyperspace. They really need to offer separate subscriptions.

Actually, I wish they would just eliminate Hyperspace altogether, since it's basically a subtle attempt to control Star Wars content on the Internet (like the free hosting for Star Wars fansites that they were offering years ago). They should keep the Star Wars website free and make it just for news, photos, and the occasional movie files. (My God, how does Startrek.com afford to run a website without subscriptions?!) Then, they can beef up the Insider with the articles that used to be posted to Hyperspace. And because it will be good, subscriptions to the Insider will go up!

I think I need to send a letter to someone in Lucasland.

All too easy.

The covers have been updated. Same links as before.

As far as a close-up shot of Luke with the saber, IMO that's not necessary. The shot currently shown on the cover is the most needed fix (green saber) in the scene.
