Petition LucasArts against the release of the Force Unleashed Sith Edition!

I have both the Wii edition and the 360 version.  The Wii is not only not getting the DLC and stuff, it's pretty much a completely different game.  It does have the duel mode, however.

xhonzi, I've always heard that the Wii version is different. Are you saying that's why the Wii is being excluded? Too much work?

So as a Wii owner I'm so low on the radar that LucasLand doesn't even consider double-dipping me. Wow, it's like I'm a fan of the OT or something ;)

I've been waiting forever for this PC release which they said would never happen, so I don't have much sympathy for console owners who have been able to play the game since last year. I'm a long time Star Wars PC gamer and followed all the news about the Force Unleashed since it was first announced and they went out of their way to say there wasn't going to be a PC release. I'm sick of PC gamers getting the shaft, waiting an extra year for a release and getting, sloppy second-hand ports with clumsy console interfaces.

neebis, I feel your pain in that department. I'm sad to say I gave up hope for PC gaming several years ago. But man, I had some good times while it lasted (X-Wing, TIE Fighter, Dark Forces, Jedi Knight, Jedi Outcast...)

Making our own 35mm preservation--my crazy proposal
Time

Welcome back, negative1.

I'm glad you came back, since that means there's a chance we might actually get to see the results of your project one day.

But I think you have to expect people to be skeptical. After you disappeared, I thought that it was maybe all a cruel joke. That you rubbed it in our faces that you had the prints, we didn't, and we'd probably never see them again. And I was afraid that you might be collaborating with someone who would take the prints and use them for his own secretive purposes. (check your PM)

If you find you've hit a wall with this project, please try to pass things on to one of the established masters of the forum. If nothing else, I think your prints will be safe with them.

Again, welcome back.

THE STAR WARS SAGA - 1080P AVCHD DVD-9 for PS3 & Blu-Ray players - Episodes 1, 4 & 5 available now
Time

I hope I can ask this questoin correctly.

I know Adywan made these as 24 fps, and some people have had playback problems with that (audio getting out of sync with video). In particular, the scene in ANH where R2 is captured by the Jawas was mentioned.

Will I notice this effect if I jump or fast forward to that scene? Or do I have to watch the movie from the beginning to experience the delay?

FYI, I have a Panasonic DMP-BD80.

TRON: Modern FX Update (* unfinished project *)
Time

DaMavieMan, I'll second Monroeville and suggest the lightcycle sequence. He has plenty of good ideas about how to spice that up.

Monroville said:

Personally, I thought they were supposed to have GREY faces throughout the whole movie, not flesh-toned (being they are programs without blood and all).

On the surface, that stands to reason. But remember that the in-computer scenes were shot in black and white, with all of the color added later. So they had to take extra steps to add the color to the faces. The flesh tone they used is a very muted sepia tone.

See this shot for example:

Episode II: Shroud of the Dark Side (the TM edit) (Released)
Time

Trooperman,

Since the project has hit another snag, having some more eyes look at it might lead to someone else being inspired to finish it.

So I think you should release the movie in its current form to those who want to see it. Probably via email and PM.

A public, publicized release might not be a good idea since it's unfinished. And that would lead to all kind of joe-schmoes coming in here with unwarranted criticism.

Having followed this project for so long, I would personally like to see what all the fuss is about ;)

I'm currently in the process of downloading the AVCHD of ANH, but the speed is abysmal. I tried several different torrents and they're all pretty much the same. Can anyone make any recommendations?

If anyone cares, the torrent for ANH ended up improving in speed, and I'm now seeding.

First off, let me say thanks to Adywan for doing this. I have downloaded ESB and it is awesome!

If Lucas did a proper oot restoration for blu ray and dvd would he be forgiven for the special editions and the prequels?
Time

Robert Harris has offered to restore the OOT FOR FREE! There may be other costs associated with the restoration, but I imagine it's not happening because Lucas either has zero interest in bothering, or it's an ego thing.

But something is seriously wrong in Lucasland. The format wars are over and it's time for a hi-def release. He can't even be bothered to take his existing hi-def transfers of the 2004 Special Edition (which have aired on TV in HD) and simply dump them onto a bare-bones Blu-Ray.

The Lucasfilm reputation for a quality, cutting-edge product is pretty much gone. But yet they still can't get anything out the door, other than re-re-re-released DVDs.

I would forgive Lucas.

Restoring the OOT would indicate that Lucas finally has respect for me as a fan of his originals, and I would no longer be a second-class fan to him. It would be like a personal thank-you from the big man for my support of Star Wars. I honestly don't know how much I would even watch them, but having them on my shelf would just make me feel good.

I would finally be able to bury the bitterness.
