STAR WARS: EP V "REVISITED EDITION"ADYWAN - 12GB 1080p MP4 VERSION AVAILABLE NOW
Time

Ady, I just realized something that will complicate matters. Luke is wearing the Hoth pilot (Snowspeeder) gear here, not the X-Wing. The Snowspeeder Pilot has an orange jacket, white gloves, and lighter boots.

This will complicate things since it's not as popular a costume as the X-Wing. But I'll still see what I can turn up.

(I see you've just edited your post to say the same thing :D)

Will Johnny be sending to others in Australia?

Yes.

So I had a chance to watch the whole thing last night. I don't want to go into too many details and spoil things for those that haven't seen it yet. But I will say the romance between Padme and Anakin is the MOST IMPROVED aspect of this film. In the past I've wondered if it would ever be possible to improve the romance, and thanks to Trooperman we see it can be done.

The voiceovers were a mixed bag, but that was to be expected for this rough cut. Anakin was the best of the bunch (except for one too many grunts). Some of the others, not so much.

I had issues with some of the music choices, especially where some cues from a certain other sci-fi movie were used. But Trooperman has already discussed this.

The Dooku lightsaber duel was very well done, though I had some logistical issues with someone's placement near the end.

Windu's blue lightsaber looked great!

I have more feedback, but I should probably withhold it until more people get a chance to check this out.

And I still need to get hold of someone in the UK to send this to.

What can Be done to save the real original star wars trilogy from 1977-1983?

And I dont buy all this shit about the garbage mattes. You know the people who complain about that and about noticing it now should take this into account. When I was a kid I didn't notice them and I have noticed that my sons don't bother about them either-all they see are TIE fighters and X-Wings and my son was open-mouthed with how cool the skeleton fight in Argonauts was.Perhaps those looking at these films now and moaning about garbage mattes could try looking at them that way?

Hmm. Lemme try...

Nope. Didn't work. I guess I'll have to continue moaning.

For the record, removing the garbage mattes is the only change that I think should be made to the OT for a proper home release. That's it. This is not a slippery slope. I still say it's a result of the movies being brightened for TV viewing.

Does anyone remember seeing matte lines when the SE was shown in theaters? I don't. But we know from the 04 DVDs (based on the SE negatives) that they were still there.

This question still stands.

I'm gonna break from the herd and state that I think the matte lines should be removed.

I don't think they were visible in theaters. (Theater images can afford to be dim since they are shown in the dark.) I can't believe the matte lines would have gotten the thumbs up if they were visible, since they are such an eyesore.

It was only in the home video releases that we started seeing matte lines. The TV image is brighter to compete with a bright room.

.: The Lancer DVD Project :. (* unfinished project *)

I have to wonder if Tellan decided it wasn't worth the effort in light of Star Wars revisited. If so, that's a real shame.

I was really looking forward to the project. One of the really cool things I think Tellan was planning was replacing all the SE shots from the final battle with new CG scenes that replicated the theatrical version. He was even going to use CG models that had the individual markings of each of the X-Wing fighters correctly, unlike the SE which uses Red 3 for all of the CG shots.

Sadly they were not 2:35 to 1. Plus the audio has been messed up all week for Clone Wars. The dialog was way too low in the center channel.

Yeah i heard about that the surrounds being messed up or something hopefully this won't be on the master when it hits dvd when season 2 is released. But knowing Lucasfilm they would call it a deliberate creative decision rather than a quality control fuck up.

I watched the premier on the Cartoon Network HD channel, and was frustrated beyond belief by how bad the audio was. The music in the rear channels was unbelievably loud. And the center channel was VERY low. To top things off, I couldn't find my receiver remote, so I had to suffer through the whole thing without being able to adjust my levels.

Remember that this is still on the inside... most skyscrapers are out in the open air, so ambient light is going to have a much bigger effect... not to mention that this tunnel would be full of gas vapors from the various gas mining facilities and carbonite waste production.

You know, wouldn't it be kinda sad that Luke dies not from Vader or the Emperor or whatnot, but lung cancer from the pollution he was breathing in during this sequence?

Right now in a dimly-lit study, someone in a flannel shirt just had a great idea for the next Star Wars trilogy.

"explanations" about Vader

I think Tarkin should have been in the PT more. Regardless of the quality of the makeup, it would have bridged the trilogies better. Does anyone complain about Obi-Wan's character because he didn't look enough like Alec Guiness?

Tarkin could have saved Anakin from the lava. Or been a close adviser to Palpatine. Tarkin's a cold calculating bastard, and they could have had a lot of fun getting him in the PT.

Am I too big of a geek...?

You know, the nice thing about being a geek is that you like what you like, rather than feeling the need to like what others like you to like/expect you to like. I absolute hate watching televised sports, don't care about them one bit. When people ask me what team I like, and and reply with, "Actually, I don't watch sports", they often look at me as if I have just told them I ran over their grandmother with a lawn mower. Sometimes they actually seem offended. I am often given grief for my lack of interest in sports, I have been made fun of rather harshly in the past for not liking them. But I really don't care, because I really don't care for them and can't be bothered to waste my time conforming to what is "normal" (and not liking sports, I have been told, is extremely "abnormal", seemingly to the point that it merits the need for psychological help according to some). I have other friends who don't like sports who actually go out of their way to pretend to like them just to fit in. That saddens me.

C3PX, thanks for writing this. I have never been a fan of sports. It's nice to know other fellow geeks face this too.

I constantly have this issue with in-laws and co-workers. When I mention to someone that I'm not into sports, I'm usually faced with a mix of annoyance and condescension - like I'm a foreigner who doesn't speak their language. Suddenly, it's like they have no desire to talk to me. It's actually pretty disheartening.

On time I heard my mother-in-law ask my wife, in a very serious tone, "Why doesn't Erik like sports?" Like I have terminable cancer or something. But I've learned to accept my nerd-dom, even if others can't.

And BTW, I have that big Millennium Falcon. Paid full price for it too (it was worth it). It's sitting on a table in the kids' playroom, along with the "playable" portion of my Star Wars collection. The "non-playable" portion of my collection is displayed on high shelves in my office. And all the things I collect are opened. I've never had the money or space for 2 of everything.
