I agree. This is one of the best FanFilms I've seen since Troops. I would totally watch this cartoon if they made a series.

Obi Wan falls in the lava?!?
OK. I'll bite. Here's what I liked.
Episode I:
Episode II:
Episode III:

I can see why the audio for episode 4 back in 2004 for the dvd is so messed up because when you listen to the english track the audio is all over the place then when you listen to the french track is pefect now when and if they do the new audio mix for blu-ray release and base it more on the french audio mix but in english in 5.1 or 7.1 then I think everyone will be happy. No or yes?
No. The original versions are what people are really after here and unless the original versions are in the bluray set then it wont really make much difference basing the new mix on the French mix might solve a few problems assuming they still have all the source files used for the French mix but there are many problems with the dialog levels in the 2004 English mix so unless they spend extra time adjusting the dialog levels it will ultimately be a waste of time.

Can't do it. Part of the set-up in the beginning of the film is when the woman with the "Save The Clock Tower" flyer interrupts Marty and Jennifer about to kiss. That's the whole key to how Doc comes up with the grand finale - because Marty had the flyer in his pocket. Without the Jennifer scene, where did Marty get this flyer from?
It would be cool if you could recut the scene so that no front shots of Jennifer were used.

Obi-Wan changes his name to Ben? Check. Leia goes to Alderaan? Check.
When did this happen in the movie?

Yeah, that would be nice. Sadly, it's already been confirmed that the theatrical cuts will not be included on this release. Go figure.
Pardon me while I split hairs.
I recall a quote from Lucas saying the original versions were not a high priority.
But I don't recall him saying that ONLY the new versions would be on the Blu-Ray set.
But I have been known to make mistakes ... from time to time.

All I am saying is that everyone is worried / conserned about the fact that the audio track for episodes 4-6 for the upcoming blu-ray release won't be fixed. But what if they are then what?
Then we'll only have the suppression of the original versions to bitch about.
Wow, you're right!
Too bad you threw out those tapes.
I'm interested too.
I've seen a few fanedits of the prequels within the last year. I might occasionally watch a few minutes if I'm channel surfing and one of the movies happens to be on. But it has been a long, LONG time since I sat down and watched an official prequel DVD. It's a very painful experience.
Harmy, I like the new subs much better. The old yellow ones were too weird for me.

Speaking about the galaxy at the end of ESB, I read somewhere that according to Leland Chee (I think it's him), what we see is actually the whole Star Wars galaxy, meaning the rebel fleet is massed outside it somehow.
What doesn't make sense with that is that we get to see a whole lot of stars in the background, yet since we're suppose to be outside of a galaxy, shouldn't there be only black void to be seen?
If you were outside a galaxy, you would still see what seem to be stars. But they would in fact be other galaxies that were far away.
I never saw the Classic Edition of Return of the Jedi. But I think the consensus (of version 1, at least) was that it was less than satisfying.
I did see a few clips from the sarlacc battle. The judder there was bad, especially when one half of the screen was from the DVD, and the other was from a laserdisc capture. Once again, I don't think OCPmovie did any color correction or saber fixing.
In short, I'd say there's definitely a need for your ROTJ reconstruction, just like there was one for ESB.
I'd say go with the SE for all those except number 6. The SE recoloring of R2 stands out a bit too much.
Cool! Thanks hairy_hen!
Does anyone know if this can be used for Adywan's ESB reconstruction without any resynching?
This thread makes me feel like it's May 3, 2006.

I'm going to be doing ANH reconstruction after ESB:R is finished
O_o
umm...
THAT'S FRICKIN AWESOME!
Frink,
You can't really call yourself a Star Wars fan until you've seen the Holiday Special and survived. Consider it a rite of passage.
You have homework.

I get that, it's just annoying to hear about something for so long while being completely unable to watch it, that's all I'm saying.
How about 5-25-77?
Aleks, do you have any plans to mod the player to capture PAL as well?

Forgive me for asking but what is the diff between the Adywan Empire reconstruction, the paulisdead vintage empire edition and the ocpmovie version. Other than being Adywan quality.
Ocpmovie's version used laserdisc footage. The jitter of the image was not corrected, and I don't think any color correction was done. I believe there was a 2.0 of ESB, but I don't know much about it.
I haven't seen Paulisdead's ESB Vintage Edit, but it seems he used some histograms for automatic color correction. Which is better than OCP but not as good as Adywan's shot-by-shot color correction method.
The new "Star Wars" logo is neat - I really like the design of it. But I'm not sure how it fits in with the rest of the movies. If this were a spinoff movie like the Clone Wars cartoon or something, I think the different logo would be great. But it feels a little weird as one of the six films.
For the crawl, I vote for the regular yellow-orange treatment. If it ain't broke...
The Republic cruiser looks good in gray. On the other hand, the colored cruisers do make it easier to quickly see who's who in the busy battle. But I think the fighters should be colored regardless (I know, that will be more work).
Me too. I'd love to have the whole shebang in NTSC.
mrsnickers, you have to use a program called 7zip to extract the avi file.
