YES IT SHOULD. But seriously stuff like this (if done subtly) would be awesome. And I wouldn't be against a Ric Olie cameo, but only if it was done well and if Ric died.
Also, a major yes to different colored X-Wings. Really things like this is what is needed to show that this Rebel force is a step up from ANH. Anything thing that can be done to show that s**t just got real should be done. But not overdone.

So I'm on the last part of the script, and I have to bring up something again, though we voted it down: Anakin's ghost at the pyre scene. Let me argue for it one more time. If we show the Ewok celebration and all three Force ghosts smiling, there is Luke's resolution, as well as the audience's. We know Luke is cool with his old man, and so are we. But if we follow that with the pyre scene (which we voted to do), he is now sad and emotional, burning his father's carcass and armor (or at least the armor). This does not capture the right emotions then. If, however, we simply show Luke smiling while looking at Ben and Yoda, and then after burning his father he comes to terms with him as he sees his ghost, I think it would be a far better fit. Let me sum it up like this: if we keep the Force ghosts, the pyre scene needs to come before it. If we put the pyre scene at the very end, we need to remove the Force ghosts. UNLESS...if we remove Anakin from the trio and reveal him DURING the pyre scene (as Aalenfae will show us in an upcoming mockup), then we can keep both scenes and the desired order.
Can we include this once again in the next vote, or is it really dead? I really think the logic is quite sound.
Could we bring up the vote to get rid of ghost Anakin altogether again? I really think my logic as to why was incredibly sound.
Although I wouldn't be as much against Anakin just showing up at the pyre ONLY IF he disappeared shortly after he appears.

Great performances and a solid plot, though I thought some things were played a bit too lightly. I think there should have been a bit more emphasis on Viola Davis' character in the second half of the film because she somewhat falls into the background even though she is the best part of the movie.

I remember watching the very visually exciting Star Trek: Generations, with its high budget visuals and the like. Then the Enterprise manages to blow up the Klingon Bird of Prey and my first thought was, "Hey! That's the exact same effect they used when they won in Star Trek 6! Not cool!" It really is too obvious and cheap. I think if you can disguise it well you can pull it off (for instance, showing the Falcons guns shooting from ANH, but altering the outside scenery).
MrInsaneA, Here's why I feel it disrupts the flow: Ben and Luke are having a heart to heart expository conversation. It's slow but important. The final line builds tension a tad. Transition to ships flying. ZOOM! Over in 2 seconds, then we're back to a slow introduction to a new plot setup, either including Vader contact with Luke or simply beginning on Tatooine. They're both not quick moving, but again are rather expository in nature. Without some way of effectively transition between the two, it feels rushed and unsatisfactory. I really don't like it that much.
That said, I think it can be made more successful if the transition is slowed down a tad. Follow me a moment while I ramble. After Ben's line, "You must face Darth Vader again," intense music builds as we see Luke's x-wing departing from Dagobah. We transition back to the Death Star from outside. We then see Vader brooding while staring out a viewport, as he so often does when he's bored. He turns and leaves the bridge. He walks down the hall and gets on a turboshaft, listening to a lounge mix of Sting's "Fields of Gold." Next shot he's in his meditation chamber and is reaching out for Luke. Instead of immediately showing Luke, we hear Vader continuing on, but we see the planet Tatooine slowly getting larger. Next we see an outside shot of the Tatooine cave, like this:
Vader's voice maybe continues to resonate as if reaching through space and finally we continue with Luke's lightsaber construction, etc. Maybe such would be a sufficient spacing for the transition, but I do feel something needs to stretch these slower, plot-building scenes out a bit.
(Obviously you wouldn't use the humorous stuff, but I'm serious about the rest of this outline.)

The fake Vader in the cave of Dagobah is actually real Vader, and when Luke kills him, he never shows up again. For the rest of ESB and ROTJ, Vader is replaced with Darth Maul.
Sorry to ruin everyone's fun, but Ronster MrInsaneA was quoting AOTC jokingly. And it sounded an awful lot like a dictatorship.
Side note: Crazy suggestion here. I know the DSII is suppose to be bigger than the DSI, but we never really see that so... what if instead of a shuttle docking inthe DSII we have a Star Destroyer dock inside the DSII.

Taxi Driver is really timeless. It's easy to see what decade it was filmed in, but really the story works for any decade. And the score, lighting, and cinematography are all reminiscent of '40s noir films, so I don't think you could even say it has a '70s feel to it.

Turner Classic Movies is actually one of the only TV channels I watch. I love old movies, and I love the '33 version. But the '05 version is better.

Well I was thinking before the explosion, so the green would be the laser fire. But that would work too.
I always imagined right before Madine dies the shot becomes green, if you know what I mean (rhyme by the way). Like as he's saying something a green filter fades in to represent the DSII laser fire, then the ship explodes.
As for the Vader vs. Jerjerrod scene, if we can dub it that's perfect, but otherwise I think it could work without a line from Vader at all (Jerjerrod says Vader can't see the Emperor, Vader chokes Jerjerrod, Jerjerrod changes his mind).
Been at the theaters quite a bit recently. I saw:
Mission: Impossible - Ghost Protocol (9/10) which is now my favorite M:I movie by far.
Girl with the Dragon Tattoo (10/10) which was so incredible it became my favorite movie of the year.
War Horse (10/10) which was even more amazing and became my favorite film of the year until
The Artist (10/10) which is immense fun beyond words and definitely the film to see. There are so many things to say about this film that I don't even know where to begin. Actually, I know exactly what I should say: GO SEE IT NOW.
