Hey, he edited his posts and now I can't know the full story behind the Jedi Temple34.
Hey, he edited his posts and now I can't know the full story behind the Jedi Temple34.
Actually I do remember that.
Still have no idea why I have friends that I've never added.
Also, I have a more important question: is it just me or has the search bar gone missing?
How does this thing even work? I have four friends on my friends list for reasons that are unknown to me.
Forgive me if this has been discussed before.
I hope we can all be done with this now. Very annoying to open this thread and to see every time there's just more arguing about an issue that has been resolved already.
Well, I guess it's true. He ignores everyone.
Sign me up for being ignored by Jedi Temple34.
One of the great mysteries of life, I suppose.
Old ST fans aren't necessarily going to hate J.J. Trek. While I'm by no means even remotely old, the only ST I really like is TOS (which I love), and I watched long before J.J. Trek. And I love J.J. Trek, his are easily some of the best Trek movies there are, in my opinion.
Ideally Yub Nub would be in place as simply source music - it's a little silly but it makes more sense for the Ewoks to play that than the Victory Celebration. We would see the Endor party with Yub Nub then we would transition into the force theme, see the galactic celebrations, then Luke burning Vader would be the final shot.
A more radical version would have the funeral after the Ewok celebration but before the other celebrations, then when we go to Endor and see Luke fly away into space as the force theme swells into the end credits.
Cumbermatch casting seems to be a joke that has filled the interwebs as fact as always happens.
I still believe that when we learn who's actually cast, it won't be a rumor, it'll be an official announcement (or at least from an official source). And it probably won't happen for a bit.
Also, Alex Pettyfer was pretty good in Magic Mike.
Dawn of the Dead is the greatest zombie film of all time, no question.
Pegg wasn't telling Trek fans "fuck you," he was telling those who voted it the worst "fuck you." I would've done the same thing, and I didn't even work on the movie.
Oh it looks great for sure, but I can't wait to see something like that.
I always thought since when the rumors first started that there'd be Khan in the sequel that Javier Bardem should play him, to keep continuity with him as a Hispanic Indian and because Bardem is fantastic. But whatever, Cumbermatch did a more than fine job.
I don't think I've ever met someone who's even remotely liked the Holiday Special...
I'm starting to feel bad about messing with him. I think he might have mental deficiencies.
Seriously, though. Read his Wookieepedia page. "The first time cain saw the 1997 star wars special edtions he loved the changes becuase you can see more like in Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope there was alot of CGI in the films then the scene with jabba the hut and in Star Wars Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back and Star Wars Episode VI: Return of the Jedi was also alot of new stuff"
At the very least he's almost illiterate and has no taste.
I do feel it looks more real, but yeah, it's hard to see on the Youtube. Also, I've always felt Mustafar, oddly enough seemed like one of the most real places, as the used sets for the metal parts; and then the lava, being simply lava, looked pretty real. Lava looks unreal normally, so it looked fine in the movie. Basically what I'm saying is, I love what you've done with the colors and such, but it might be more interesting to see a video of something else.
The lightsaber isn't needed for PT:R?
The original image appears to be heavily pixelated.
JEDIT: Nevermind, works now. Looks great.
Am I the only one who's seeing the original pixelated on that one?

Every time I see this thread with unread messages, I get excited. Then I see it's a conversation I've seen in countless other threads about whether or not Lucasfilm destroyed the original film. It's interesting stuff for sure, but it's disappointing that it's not the deleted scene news I keep hoping for :(
I'm sorry this isn't news, but it is support. More info and less debate would be great.
Episode VII will get people in the doors, no matter what. What will keep people going, however, is a good product. Disney realizes that.

The other good thing is that Ben Affleck is very likely to direct either JL or a stand alone Batman movie (my guess would be the latter).
I kinda hope there is no Batman standalone, especially if DC isn't gonna pull a Marvel and do two a year as far as movies go. Too many DC characters deserve a movie that haven't had 7 made already, more if you include Adam West and the serials. I'm hoping Batman is kinda like Nick Fury or Coulson in the MCU, in everything, but the star of nothing.
I would usually agree, but a Ben Affleck directed Batman film... that's too good to resist.
I vehemently agreed too that a MoS trilogy should be done first when adding Batman was announced, but I've thought it through and I actually think it might work. First, it has to be pointed out that, if WB didn't put Batman into this next movie, their whole Justice League set up might've fallen apart. Granted, that's not necessarily true, and Justice League might still fall apart, but the chance of it not failing have increased dramatically.
Man of Steel made a ton of money. The thing is, it lost business really quickly. Add that in with the fact that sequels rarely do as well as their predecessor, and the MoS sequel was destined to be a disappointment - not a good next step for the franchise. Adding in Batman, however, practically guarantees that this sequel will do more than the first.
Now, they can easily mess this up, but as long as this is still a Superman movie, that happens to have Batman as a supporting character in it, this can still be a true sequel. If this doesn't make the same mistakes as Iron Man 2, it can still succeed as a film in and of itself. What I mean is that if they forsake doing any JL build up and keep this from being an advert for that film, adding in Batman could work.
The other good thing is that Ben Affleck is very likely to direct either JL or a stand alone Batman movie (my guess would be the latter). Which means that he will want a say in how the MoS sequel portrays and interprets Batman. Which could mean that he might work on the script in some way. Which would mean that the main problem with the first film (inconsistent script) could be fixed on this second film.
Fingers crossed.
Looks like this'll be a solid documentary - hope it isn't going to be too hard to release.

This has to be one of the worst shots in the entire PT. It's all CGI crappiness and over contrasted digital ugliness. There's major missing highlight detail and everything. I started fixing that. (note, I didn't do much of any color correction, there's weird colors still existent from the original that I didn't bother with here, since I'm still working on getting that film look, and the highlights a clipping a bit in the clouds too, along with the distant star destroyers loosing some detail.)
That's objectively a million times better.
Star Wars is one of the most perfectly shot in films ever, in my opinion, along with Dr. Strangelove. I'm glad he lived so long.

Just curious, but do you know if there are any decent programs or plug-ins that can add realistic 35mm film grain?
I have no skill in this area, and even if I end up making use of your promising project, I would still need to apply something to the other sources of footage I'm using to have things match up. Plus it'd be cool to keep in mind for other things.
What other sources are you using?
By the way emanswfan, I have to admit when you started this project I was skeptical, but you've totally sold me. I cannot wait to see this.
