Is anybody else a fan of TOS only? Or do you even know anybody else who is?
I don’t like TNG, DS9 or… that other show I saw 2 episodes of… I think the Quantum Leap guy was in it?
The only Trek film I’ve liked is TWOK. I haven’t seen all of the films though.
Anyways, I’ve never met anybody who only likes the original Trek. Am I all alone?

I love TOS but have never been able to get into any of the other shows. I like most of the movies though.

I recently got into this great podcast by comedian Matt Gourley called “I Was There Too,” in which he talks with actors (often other comedians) who had bit parts in famous films and what the experience was like.

Of interest to this forum, he recently did a trio of OT episodes, talking first with Anthony Forrest (“Move along” sand trooper and the deleted Fixer), Clive Revill (and in the same episode the guys from Star Wars Minute to discuss the mystery of the woman who physically played the Emperor hologram), and Kevin Thompson (who played a number of Ewoks in ROTJ and the two TV spin-offs).

Highly recommended:

The J.J. commentary was a good listen. I only wish they had included another person, I always find it more entertaining when it’s a conversation rather than a solo-effort.*

*No need to make the Han joke unless you can come up with something really good.

Why include anyone other than J.J. since he’s the brains, sweetheart.

Well…I think there’s a pretty good argument to include Lawrence Kasdan the co-writer of The Force Awakens and writer of The Empire Strikes Back. I’d also love to hear from Kathleen Kennedy and her thoughts on bringing this all about. And then of course there’d be a lot of interest in a special commentary with Carrie Fisher, Mark Hamill and Harrison Ford. Heck, a commentary from the folks at ILM would be fascinating. Point is, the buck does not stop with Abrams.

whoosh

That’s the sound of the joke of Frink asking for a Han Solo joke, getting it, and Tobar missing it.

Yeah in fairness it was a lame joke. It’d have been cool to have a joint JJ/Kasdan commentary as it seems they really worked closely together to break the story and write the script. It’d also be great to hear from some of the other people involved as well, though perhaps on a separate track. If you listen to something like JJ’s Star Trek commentary there’s a bunch of interesting tidbits but there’s also 4 or 5 people on it so you get the feeling there’s so much stuff you’re missing.

(jif? no, lets stick with gif)

But… it’s pronounced like “jif.” That’s just how words (and acronyms) work, man.

Yeah that’s why I got my degree in Jraphic Design. I love the jraphic arts.

But that’s not how it works. Do you pronounce NASA like “nay-sah” or like “nah-sah”? Do you pronounce SCUBA like “skuh-beah” or like “skoo-bah”?

Generally, an acronym is pronounced the way it would be if a single word. Since “gif” has an “I” after the “G,” the “G” becomes soft. Deal with it.

Can’t wait for all the jifts I’ll be getting this Christmas. But you know, really the best part of the holiday season is the jiving.

Also, guess again, I’m not HansiG. The one truth I did tell last week is that I was a lurker who read the forum for about a year before joining.

So wait, are you a sock or aren’t you? I mean, yeah this account is obviously a sock, but was 234 a sock? Feel free to make a new sock to tell us if you’re a sock (of a sock).

Star Wars: Rogue One - * Non Spoiler Discussion Thread *
Time

Got my tickets for myself and friends Thursday night. Had the perfect seats and the site crashed. Ended up with less than perfect but close. Only thing is my theater wasn’t playing it in 2D at 7 so I went 3D, don’t really mind though.

Also I got roped into going with another group of friends on Friday, and one of them already got tickets. So I already have two tickets to this movie weeks before it’s out. I’ve never done that before, not even for TFA. It’s not that I’m super pumped for RO, just happened. This had better be good.
